Chapter 267
Chapter 267 Cleaning Up The Scene
Eric had committed those gruesome acts in the mansion on numerous occasions, never hesitating to torture someone to death
right in front of her.
At first, she was terrified, even to the point of crying out in fear. But as time went on, Eileen gradually became desensitized to it.
He had always been a person who would do whatever it took to get what he wanted.
His hands were stained with blood. In fact, he could have become the ruler of Hulbury by killing others.
So much time had passed that she couldn’t remember many things.
However, that person left a lasting impression on her.
The person with the masked face was none other than Lionel, one of Eric’s subordinates.
Didn’t Eric find him three years later? Why is this happening now? Could it be that everything that was supposed to happen has
already occurred ahead of time? Eileen felt a sense of worry and panic in her heart, yet she didn’t know where those emotions
were coming from. Is it true that no matter what, events from a past life cannot be changed? Even if one alters their original
destiny, in the end, they cannot escape it. The damned will still meet their end! What about me? Will I also repeat the fate of my
previous life? Will I not pass away peacefully in old age?
Brett kept backing away, clutching a blade in his hand. His whole body was trembling with fear. “Don’t come any closer... Don’t
come any closer... I haven’t done anything wrong. You’ve got the wrong person.”
Lionel looked at the portrait in his hand. “You’re exactly who I’ve been looking for today.”
Natalie was on the verge of tears. “Let’s get out of here! I’m really scared.”
Eileen seemed lost in thought when suddenly, an urgent voice rang out beside her. “Eileen! Watch out!”
She snapped back to reality, her body suddenly jolted by a push.
Benjamin steadied Eileen. When they looked over, they saw that Natalie was already being held at knife- point by the vagrant
with a blade against her neck.
Brett warned, “Stay back! I-I’m warning you. If you dare to come any closer, l’il kill her.”
Eileen yelled, “Natalie!”
With tears welling up, Natalie held back the tears that were about to fall. “S-Eileen... I’m okay. I’m not scared at all.”
“Shut up!” Brett tightened his grip on Natalie’s neck, glaring at Lionel. “Eight years! Even now, you still won’t leave me alone. It’s
all because of you that I lost everything. My daughter died because of you. Even if I can’t escape today, I will take her with me.”
Eileen suddenly stood up. “No!”
“Don’t go!” Jason tried to hold Eileen back, but he failed.
Lionel also turned his gaze toward Eileen.
Brett seemed intimidated by Lionel’s presence, his face distorted with fear, his hands trembling non-stop.

Natalie was crying loudly, blood already trickling down her neck.
“Don’t touch her...” Eileen was also scared. If anything were to happen to Natalie that day, she would never be able to forgive
herself.
Natalie was the only true friend she had made during that time.
Natalie was kind and innocent, without any hidden motives.
Eileen believed that Natalie had more to offer by staying alive.
“I-I’ll trade myself for her. Please don’t hurt her.” Eileen slowly approached, step by step.
In a car not far away, a profound gaze fixed on the delicate and frail figure, the eyes becoming colder. “Lionel, bring her back.”
Upon hearing the command through the earpiece, Lionel chose to remain still.
Eileen added, “I am more valuable than her. I am Will Swan’s daughter. Don’t lay a hand on Natalie.”
Tears stained Natalie’s face, a sight that tugged at the heartstrings. “Eileen... I-I’m hot scared at all. You don’t need to come
over.”
“It’s you! You’re all in this together.” Brett looked at Eileen with an enemy-like gaze. Suddenly, he let out a chilling laugh. “You’ve
really made me search for you. All right, then! Come here! No tricks, or else, you know the consequences.”
“Don’t! Eileen, don’t!” Natalie shouted.
Eileen comforted her, “It’s okay, Natalie. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Eric then yelled, “Lionel!”
Everyone’s attention turned to Eileen. Lionel spoke in a tone that was neither light nor heavy, “Once she’s gone, you’ll have no
vulnerabilities. I won’t let anyone become a threat to you.”
Eric warned, “You know the consequences of defying me!”
Brett was one of the men who had raped Vera eight years ago. Back then, he had tried every means to track him down, but in
the end, he had managed to escape. After all these years, Brett had finally resurfaced with a new identity. However, no matter
how much he changed, he couldn’t escape his past.
That day was purely a coincidence, providing Eric with a golden opportunity.
Brett said, “All right. Come here. You better not try any tricks with me.”
Benjamin, standing behind Eileen, gave Jason a knowing glance.
Jason nervously swallowed his saliva.
Eileen walked over, and Brett began to loosen his grip, all in the fleeting moment of their exchange.
With his face covered, Lionel suddenly said, “Today, I’m letting you off easy for Ms. Eileen’s sake. It’s best if you run as far as
you can. If we catch you again, you won’t be so lucky”
As the words fell, Lionel left with his people.

The car, with two people inside, quickly disappeared.
Brett released his grip, suddenly raised his knife, and charged toward Eileen in a fit of rage. “Go to hell!”
Bang!
The gunshot rang out.
Terrified, Eileen closed her eyes. Before she could see clearly what was happening, the figure fell. She was then pulled into a
familiar embrace, accompanied by a pleasant scent. The rapid beating of a heart echoed in her ears. “I’m sorry... I arrived too
late.”
Eileen felt a sense of relief, as if she had survived a catastrophe after reincarnation. Her tense body suddenly relaxed. “I was
scared to death!”
Jasper held her tightly. “Don’t worry. Everything is fine now.”
Jasper rushed over after receiving a covert report from the bodyguard who was tailing Eileen. He couldn’t believe it. “If I had
been a second slower, what would have happened?”
“Fabian, clean up the scene,” Jasper instructed.
“Yes, Mr. Smith,” Fabian replied.
Jasper had no time for anything else. He took off his suit jacket and wrapped it tightly around Eileen. Without hesitation, he led
her away.
Eileen then spoke, “Natalie... She-”
Jasper interrupted, “As long as Fabian is here, nothing will go wrong.”
Eileen glanced back at Natalie, who had already passed out.
Benjamin supported Natalie. The sight of Brett’s gruesome death was too much to bear. His brain matter was scattered on the
ground. It was this sight that caused Natalie to faint.
By the time the police arrived, Fabian stayed behind to provide a witness statement while the other bodyguards escorted the
unconscious Natalie to the hospital for treatment.
Caution tape was also placed around the area, preventing anyone from approaching.
Fortunately, there weren’t many people near the school at that time.
Once the students from Cloudburg Public School across the street were dismissed, all evidence was swiftly and thoroughly dealt
with.
Eileen was terrified. “If Natalie hadn’t pushed me away, he might not have shown any mercy and we wouldn’t have had a chance
to catch our breath”
