Chapter Rebirth 9
Chapter 9
Chuck Zimmerman, the man who appeared out of nowhere had mesmerizing eyes and a gentle, charming demeanor. When he smiled, there was a hint of innocence that made him hard to resist Yasmine couldn't recall meeting a man like this before, and Lucy eyed him with suspicion.
Chuck put down a plate of cooked black goose and said with a bright smile, Tm Chuck Zimmerman, the chef for Mr. Russell This black goose is the one you hunted, and Mr. Russell asked me to cook it for you, Ms. Sanchez" 'Chef? Who wears a million-dollar watch and is still a chef? Yasmine raised an eyebrow Lucy blurted out, "Even Mr. Russell's chef is this loaded?"
Chuck served them slices of the black goose and replied. "Well, it's mostly because Mr. Russell has plenty of cash
Yasmine and Lucy couldn't help but chuckle at that.
Their laughter reached Xavier, who suddenly felt an unsettling depression in his chest.
He looked over, seeing Yasmine pick up a piece of roasted meat with a silver fork, her eyes sparkling with delight, while Chuck spoke animatedly to her. Instantly, Xavier felt the meat in his mouth lost all flavor.
Over the three years he had been with Yasmine, he knew she was gentle and thoughtful, but he had never seen her so lively
she looked like she stepped right out of a painting.
Yvette followed his gaze and asked casually. "Xavier, is the guy with Ms. Sanchez her friend
Henry looked over at Yasmine in surprise. "No way, int Mrs. Yasmine kind of a loner! But she seems quite into that guy."
"Is he an admirer? Or her boyfriend? Wow, Xavier got lucky with that quick divorce, or else. Noticing Xavier's change in expression, Henry fell silent instantly.
No wonder she agreed to divorce me: Xavier's face darkened, his hands clenching into fists as he watched Yasmine with a sarcastic smile.
Yasinine and Lucy felt the intense gaze from Xavier. As soon as Chuck left, Lucy couldn't help but glare back. "Da**n, what's that jerk staring at?"
Yasmine frowned slightly. Yet, the scenery there was too beautiful, and she felt so good that she didn't bother to dwell on it. After a couple of drinks, she felt a bit tipsy and replied lazily, "Maybe he's just captivated by my beauty."
Her words drifted up to Yonas on the second floor, and he couldn't help but let out a low laugh. His seductive eyes sparkled with amusement-seemed like he was in a good mood.
Chuck stared at Yonas in fear-the only time he had seen Yonas smile like that was when the Yates family fell apart and came to an untimely end.
"Y-Yonas, please don't smile like that; it's too much pressure. Chuck stammered, his voice trembling.
Yonas glanced at him casually and asked, "Did you deliver the black goose?"
Chuck nodded and asked in confusion, "You asked me out here for barbecue and even had me prepare that black goose. Are you interested in one of the two ladies?"
Chuck was a straightforward guy: he didn't like beating around the bush. Ever since Yonas told him to deliver the goose, he figured something was up
Those around listened in fear, but Yonas remained unfazed. He stood there, looking out over the sprawling woods. He thought about that missed shot and glanced at Chuck, saying, "No, I just want to make sure she remembers that she owes me a favor."
