Rebirth In Divorce: My New Mr. Perfect

Chapter Rebirth 123

Chapter 123

One of the patients stared at her and shouted, "Are you the new horse? I'm a white horse. What breed are you?"

Another added. "Do you know there's someone behind you? She clinging to your back."

Just hearing this made her break out in a cold sweat. Even after entering the ward, she couldn't find peace. All the patients were screaming and shouting, and she felt like she was about to collapse. She told the doctors and nurses countless times that she wasn't mentally ill, but it was no use.

Her mental evaluation diagnosed her with bipolar disorder and paranoia, so the nurses treated her like any other patient.

That night, after Helen became violent and injured a nurse, they put her in a restraint jacket, binding her hands. She was in extreme pain.

Helen was now experiencing things she had never felt before in her life, and she couldn't understand why, despite her brother's arrangements, the doctors and nurses were still treating her this way.

It wasn't just the various medications. Even the food was hard for her to swallow. She overturned her tray in the cafeteria, spilling food everywhere, and when an attendant came to clean up, she pushed them away.

A doctor came over with medicine, looking impatient. "Helen, are you losing your temper again?"

"I'm not! Look at this food. Is it even edible?" she snapped-back.

The doctor glanced at the overturned tray. The vegetables were the freshest, and there was meat as well. Helen was used to eating lavishly, so how could she eat such a basic meal?

"Helen, the doctors, nurses, and all the staff here eat the same food as you," the doctor replied.

"I want to leave the hospital! I don't have a mental illness!" she screamed.

The other patients in the cafeteria were also triggered by her screams. They covered their ears and started screaming too, and some began running around. In no time, the entire cafeteria was in chaos. Amidst the turmoil, Helen, fueled by anger shoved the doctor aside and attempted to run out of the room.

All the doctors and nurses immediately sprang into action, trying to calm the frightened patients. One doctor, holding a syringe filled with a sedative, quietly approached Helen from behind. Without hesitation, he injected it into the back of her neck. The next moment, she lost consciousness and collapsed to the floor.

Helen was restrained once again. Her actions had affected other patients and even caused harm to a doctor. As a result, she was put in a restraint jacket for three whole days. Those three days were a living nightmare for her. The jacket forced her to remain lying on the bed, unable to move. Even her basic needs, like going to the bathroom, required permission from others. She felt more like a confined animal than a human.

At night, the wails and howls coming from all directions left her in a daze, and she even began to fantasize about someone coming to save her.

When Selena came to visit Helen, she was horrified by Helen's current state. Her daughter looked haggard and disheveled.

"Helen, are you okay?" Selena asked with a trembling voice.

It took Helen a long time to realize it was her mother's voice. She immediately started sobbing uncontrollably, crying about how miserable she was in the mental hospital.

Her crying made Selena's heartbreak. Telen, of course, I want to get you out of here as soon as possible. Your brother has tried everything, but the Russell family won't relent."

When Xavier donated equipment to the hospital, Yonas donated even more advanced ones. And when Xavier donated a building, Yonas donated two.

"It's all Yasmine's fault! She must have told Yonas to do this on purpose," Helen cried,

When Selena returned home, she walked into Xavier's study, holding two video clips. These were the trump cards that could potentially save Helen.

Of course, Yasmine was fully aware of how terrible Helen's situation had become.

When Xavier arranged for someone to take good care of Helen, Yonas also sent his own people to ensure that she was treated just like any other ordinary patient.

As Yasmine was working, a delivery arrived. She was puzzled when she heard the delivery man call out her name. Confused, she took the package and, after opening it, discovered a photo inside. It was a picture Yonas had secretly taken the night before after she had fallen asleep. In the photo, she was lying in bed, fast asleep, with one hand touching her hair.

Her face flushed as she quickly placed the photo into her drawer. Just then, her phone buzzed with a text message from Yonas: [Did you get it?]

She replied: [Yes, but why did you send it by delivery? We'll see each other after work anyway.]

Yonas: [I couldn't wait.] Yasmine felt a warmth in her heart. The two of them were like a couple in a school romance, childish but very happy. Is this what being in love feels like?' she wondered. She had never experienced it before. Her relationship with Xavier had always been a one-sided affair. Now she finally realized how sweet this could be.

After work that evening, Yonas did come. Yosebin excitedly got into the car, already sensing the romantic vibe between them.

Yonas handed ice creams to both Yoselin and Yasmine. "So I got one too!" Yoselin exclaimed, playfully teasing her brother. "Yonas, I thought you might forget about me." She covered her mouth and giggled, accidentally getting some ice cream on her nose.

Back at the apartment, Yoselin tactfully went upstairs, and Yonas followed Yasmine into the house.

"Helen's situation is settled," Yonas said in a cold tone. "I had someone check her diagnosis report, and there are no issues

with it."

Yasmine nodded. She had long expected that Selena and Xavier would use every possible means to save Helen. However, becoming a mental patient would likely be even more painful for her.

"This might not be a bad thing," Yasmine said, handing him a drink she had taken from the fridge. She didn't mention that Xavier had been contacting her, trying to get her to visit his grandfather. After all, she had just had Helen sent to a mental hospital, so she wasn't sure if Xavier wanted to see her because of that. She had refused all of his requests.

Yonas chuckled softly. "Exactly. No one comes out of a mental hospital unchanged He had arranged for people in the hospital to ensure that Helen wouldn't receive any special treatnient.

He placed the drink aside and stepped forward to embrace Yasmine. "Enough about others," he said, inhaling the scent of her hair as he lifted her head and kissed her.

Late at night, it began to pour outside, the rain lashing against the windows. Yasmine lay in Yonas's arms. "How has Yoselin

been feeling lately?" she asked.

"She's been doing well, very stable lately." Yonas replied, gently running his fingers through her hair. "But she's always asking me when we can get married."

Yasmine blushed. "Yoselin must have seen the wound, and that's why she had an episode,"

She sat up and said, "Speaking of scars I have one on my thigh. It looks quite ugly. I got injured there before, but I don't remember when it happened." She touched the scar on her thigh, feeling the indentation. The irregular scar stood out, making it look particularly unusual. Yonas seemed momentarily lost. He reached out, his fingers trembling as they touched the scar, but he quickly withdrew his hand and averted his gaze. He softly said, "I'm sorry."

Yasmine smiled and pinched his face with both hands, forcing him to look at her. "What are you sorry for? It's not your fault.
