Chapter Rebirth 1
Chapter 1
"Sign here. Xavier Flynn broke the silence, his voice cold as he handed over the divorce papers. Yasmine Sanchez froze for a moment, then looked up at him, forcing a bitter smile.
"So that's why he called me but of the blue this morning, saying he'd be home tonight to talk? I'd felt happy all day... Our three-year marriage is finally over, she thought, sadness gnawing at her. Yasmine took the papers silently, her grip tightening slightly. After a long pause, she managed to croak out, "Do we really have to get divorced?"
Xavier frowned, studying Yasmine who had been his wife for the past three years. She looked stressed, beads of sweat clinging to her forehead, her eyes heavy with exhaustion and confusion. Her plain face, framed by thick glasses, gave her an ordinary appearance. She seemed gentle and simple, yet completely unremarkable.
He then turned his gaze away, stubbed out his cigarette, and spoke in a calm but firm tone, "Just sign it. She's back, and I don't want her to misunderstand."
Yasmine's heart sank. She knew the woman he mentioned-Yvette Grant, his first love, someone he had always cared about. For Yvette, their marriage had been a facade-three years of his fidelity while he stayed emotionally distant. Seeing the hesitation on her face, Xavier added gently, "We're getting a divorce by mutual agreement. After we separate, you'll keep the Silver Oak Villa, the cars, and I'll give you an extra 30 million dollars"
They had only married to deal with Xavier's grandfather, Matthew, so they had signed a prenuptial agreement. The amount he offered was far more than she was entitled to.
Xavier didn't care about Yasmine, but she had really tried during their three years together. The extra money was his way of acknowledging her efforts, and given her poor education, she would need financial security after the divorce. Understanding what he meant, Yasmine glanced through the divorce papers and lowered her gaze, nodding slowly. "Okay, I
agree.
She picked up the pen, signed decisively, and looked at Xavier. Behind her thick glasses, her eyes held a complicated mix of emotions-bitter and regretful, though she couldn't quite tell which.
"Don't worry, I'll move out in the next few days. I won't bother you and Yvette, she promised him.
Xavier nodded, "Thanks for your hard work these past three years.
No matter how dull or plain Yasmine seemed, he had to admit she was a competent wife. Over the years, she had taken care of everyone in the Flynn family, allowing him to focus on his career without worry. But that couldn't force something that was not meant to be.
Yasmine felt it ridiculous. She had sacrificed so much for Xavier-three years of her youth-and all she got in return was a simple "thanks."
Xavier took the signed divorce papers, unaware of the faint mockery in her eyes. Just then, his assistant called, and he glanced at Yasmine before saying, "I have things to take care of at the office. If you need anything, ask Mary for help: Yasmine nodded, feeling a mix of relief and sadness.
Just as Xavier stepped out of the study, his mother, Selena, who was anxiously waiting in the living room, approached. "Did she agree to sign?" she asked.
Xavier frowned slightly and nodded.

Selena sighed in relief, excitement lighting up her face. "That's great! I've never felt at ease with you married to her. It's been three years and still no kids! She hardly speaks. Who knows what scheme she's up to?" Xavier stayed silent.
Selena sighed, continuing, "I never agreed when Matthew pushed for you to marry her. An orphan living with the Lynch family? What good could come from that? Now it's over. Once you marry Yvette, I will be completely relieved. Only Yvette deserves to be your wife." Xavier's younger sister, Helen, chimed in cheerfully, "Exactly! I'd be embarrassed to have Yasmine as my sister-in-law. Thank goodness you're divorced. If you marry Yvette, just think about how jealous everyone will be."
