Chapter Chapter Ten- Remebering
Blake had left to go talk to his chefs, then came back a couple of minutes later. He sat down next to me at the large dining table. It was big enough to seat over 100 people. Neither of us talked.
"Tell me more about your family." I said breaking the silence.
"Okay. Well my parents moved away along time ago. My youngest sister, Aspen, is mated to my Third in Command. She is 19, like you. I have an identical twin brother Drake, and he is unmated. My oldest sister, Layla, is 27. And my other two brothers, Jake and Hunter, are 27 and 24. Jake and Layla are twins too. They are all far away though, I don't know what happened to them," He explained.
"Wow, you have a big family." I said. He smiled and nodded. The chefs then walked in with several plates. All of them filled with classic French meals. I gasped when I saw my favorites. Once they left, I looked at Blake in amazement.
"This is amazing! Oh, and you got all of my favorites!" I said clapping my hands together.
"Which one is your favorite?" He asked.
"Cuisses de Grenouille à la Provençale." I said, with my perfected accent. His eyes widened.
"Well, you don't seem like the kind of person who likes frog legs." He peered at me curiously. I shrugged.
"I am full of surprises. Some of which, you may not like." I added quietly. But of course with his heightened senses, he heard me. He looked at me, his eyes very serious.
"What wouldn't I like?" He asked in a dangerous tone. I looked down at my lap.
"Well, I have killed over 1,000 people in ten years." I looked at him, my eyes full of guilt and shame. His jaw dropped.
"1,000 people? In ten years?" He asked in shock. I slowly nodded my head, suddenly afraid he would reject me.
"I was always at the top of my class, even though I was the only girl. And I started assassinating people when I was eight." I closed my eyes trying to block out the memories. I took a deep breath and blew it out slowly.
"I always did what I was told, because that was what I was taught. But when I turned 16, I shifted into my wolf for the first time. I was in the forest, coming back after a mission. I was actually in a tree, so I fell, and landed in a river. I almost drowned." I furrowed my brows as I realized that I should be dead a million times over. I kept talking, feeling the need to tell my story to someone.
"Actually, I should have drowned. I was under the water for hours. But after that first time I shifted, I focused on learning about werewolves. I later figured out my mother was Luna Blackwood, and that my father was a Hunter. I worked for years, learning how to control my wolf and emotions so I could stay hidden." I explained. Blake pulled me into his lap. I rested my head on his chest.
"Why did you leave?" He asked, his voice soft, and gentle.
"Well, being the only female Hunter, I was highly desired by the others. So, I would make deals with them." His grip around my waist tightened, and he growled at me. I put my hand on his arm to calm him.
"I always won. I would tell them that if they could beat me in a fight, I would give them a night with me." I scrunched up my nose at the disgusting thought.
"They eventually got really pissed, because I said that if I won, I got to kill them. I ended up killing several dozen men, they were furious. Then the Elders, told them that they think I am a wolf, and sent them to capture me. I escaped and after a while, came upon that lake where your Beta found me." I said with a sigh.
"And now your here." He finished with a smile. I nodded.
"I will eventually tell you everything but it will takes some time. I do not have a pretty past." I said tears filling my eyes. He turned me around so I was facing him. His hand came up to my face, and his thumb wiped away the tears that escaped.
"Please don't cry. What can we do to take your mind off things?" He asked. I turned back to my food and started eating again. I was thinking of what we could do.
"I have an idea!" I said smiling. He smiled back, and nodded for me to continue.
"Its called who is in better shape? We both come up with things that we are good at, and then see who is better at it." By this point I was grinning. I love doing this because I am really good at it.
"Okay, where do you want to play it?" He asked as we finished our delicious food.
"You pick."
"I have a place." He smiled and winked. I raised my eyebrow.
"What place would that be?"
"Its a secret." He said standing up. He grabbed a clean napkin from the table and put it over my eyes. We walked for about thirty minutes, with him guiding me. When we finally stopped, he pulled off my blindfold. I gasped. We were at the lake where I was first caught by his pack.
"It's even more beautiful in the light." I breathed. There was a small waterfall that I didn't see before. But that would explain what I had heard. The water was a cyan blue, and full of bright colored fish.
"I'm glad you like it." He smiled.
"Do you want to go first?" I asked.
"Sure. Let's see ... How about who can get to the waterfall first?" He said pointing towards the rocks, about 400 yards away.
"Okay!" I walked to the edge of the bank. Blake stood beside me and grabbed my hand. He nodded and we both jumped. The water was deeper than expected. But it was warm, and felt great. I remembered that I hadn't showered in a few days. When I surfaced I saw Blake already swimming towards the waterfall.
"Hey!" I yelled at him, and started swimming. I caught up to him quickly, and soon passed him. I made it to the rock, ten seconds before Blake. There was a flat rock under the falling water. I stood on it, and relished the water falling on my head.
"You are a great swimmer." He said as he pulled himself up and stood next to me. He tore off his soaked shirt, and stood in just his shorts.
"Thanks!" I was getting irritated by yoga pants clinging to my wet legs, as was Blake's shirt. Using my claws, I ripped up the pants, and took off my shirt, until I was only in my bra and underwear. I smirked when I saw Blake's eyes turn black.
"Like what you see?" I asked repeating what he said the day before. He smiled.
"Who wouldn't?" He asks with a small smirk. I tried to take a step towards him, but slipped and fell. He grabbed my hand and fell with me. He flipped me over, and he hit the water first. I landed on his hard chest, and closed my eyes. When I opened them, I was face to face with Blake. I smiled when I realized how close we were.
And I kissed him.
