Raging Barons MC – Book Two – Axel

Axel: Chapter 20

Yesterday was hard for everyone. A small town always feels the loss of someone like Jenkins. He was popular with everyone.

The older ones loved to talk to him, reminisce and know he was listening, the families stayed with him as he never charged more than he needed to and the younger ones went to him for advice and to keep their first vehicles running as long as possible.

Grinning, I remember the conversation Mia and Shar were having about penis-pushing and getting a dickin’. I’ll not let them forget that for a long time.

Entering the kitchen, I see Mia drinking from a bottle of water. I bet her head is killing her this morning, but she has work to do.

‘Come on Mia, off we go. You’re needed at the coffee house this morning. Time for your input on where things are going to be placed.’ I loudly state and smirk at the wince she shows at my enthusiasm.

Shar is busy cooking breakfast and I walk over, slap my arm over her shoulders and whisper, ‘If you need a good dickin’, I’ll let you use mine.’

She laughs and gives me a slap with the spatula, then surprises me when she responds, ‘It depends how big said dick is, gotta be long and thick.’ then she winks and carries on cooking.

I throw my head back and laugh loudly, slap her ass and walk over to Mia, grab her arm gently and lift her up, ‘Come on girlie, you gotta learn how to hold your liquor.’

Arriving at the coffee house, it’s plain to see that a lot of work has gone into having all new glazed windows; they have removed the sign since I was here two days ago too.

Walking inside the place is stripped, fresh walls, painted in a slightly off white color. It all looks good, I have to admit.

Mia is standing in the middle of what will be the kitchen and I can see her eyes have lit up with excitement.

Sting walks in from the basement and smiles, ‘Hi Mia, Hammer. Are you here to give us an idea of where we’re putting everything?’

‘We are. I gave you the plan that Mia had in mind. Was anything on that, that we are going to have an issue with?’ I ask. I’ve a feeling where she wants the large sink. It will not work.

‘You can’t have the sink there, Mia. The drainage needs are here. To keep the cost and the work down, the sink has to go here, but, looking at your plans, we could put in a larger industrial sink that would cover both the areas if that would suit you?’

Sting points out the area and how far across and out from the wall the industrial sink would cover and Mia nods, ‘Okay, we can do that.’

It takes over two hours to go through all the kitchen placements and then the basement design. Mia is happy with everything now and I have to say it’s going to look damn good.

The upper floors have good quality laminate flooring throughout, which looks great. Bathroom, although small, is nicely done in an almond color, giving it a warm look.

As yet, we don’t know who will live here or will run the place, but Mia may not have the time, as she is working at the club three nights a week.

Going down to the basement, I’m surprised so see that shelving has already been built and units for storage, turning I see Ruger in a corner of the room, opening a box and taking out a coffee grinder.

‘Hi Ruger.’ Mia says as she’s walking over to see what else he has on the bench in front of him.

Coffee grinders, coffee percolators, espresso makers, cup warmers, and even coffee urns and water boilers are all laid out in front of him.

Looking at Mia, she is pink with excitement, and I cannot help but smirk at her gushing over the equipment.

Ruger is grinning at her too, I notice and he wraps an arm around her shoulders, turning her away from the bench, ‘Come on, you need to show us how to set up the shop area now you’ve done the kitchen.’

Both Mia and I worked alongside Ruger and Sting, unpacking boxes, checking off what we unpack on the delivery receipt and Brag is installing the first of the kitchen units.

We close up around six as we are all hungry and Shar sends a text saying she’s cooked an evening meal, so we quickly make our way back to the clubhouse.

‘Do you notice a truck following us, Hams?’ Mia asks. She turns slightly more so she can see through the mirror on the side of the vehicle.

‘Yeah, I’ve seen it. Send a text to Axel, let him know we may have trouble on our tails.’

While Mia is texting Axel, the truck gets nearer to the backend of our pickup and although our vehicle is good and solid; I don’t want to take risks with our lives.

Knowing the road well I’m aware we have a rest stop coming up shortly, I take my gun from under the dash, rip off the tape that was holding it up and I know I’m ready, it’s worth the risk I’m going to take.

‘Can you shoot Mia?’

‘Not as well as I can throw my knives, but I can shoot.’

‘Open the glove box and use it if you need to.’ I state and just have time to say, ‘Hang on tight and be ready.’

I slam into the rest stop, using the brake to spin the vehicle, stopping fast. Opening the door, I jump out and aim for the driver of the truck, which has slowed to take shots at us.

I fire at the windshield of the truck and the driver slams his foot down and shoots down the road; I fire a couple of shots but don’t hit the tires.

Looking in I see Mia is okay, and she smiles a bit wobbly at me, but she’s strong enough thankfully to be okay with what happened.

Taking out my cell I contact Axel and let him know we’re okay and will be at the clubhouse in a few minutes, but he needs to send a couple of brothers out to the gatehouse to keep watch for us coming, just in case we get waylaid near the compound.

Thankfully, we make it back with no other problems and park outside the clubhouse door. Axel rushes out and grabs Mia in a bear hug, then picks her up and carries her inside.

Entering the clubhouse, I don’t see Axel, but Drag points to the office. I quickly make my way through and report back to everyone what happened.

After we had discussed it somewhat, we decided we could do nothing more as we had no information to who they were, but tomorrow I’m going to do some looking into it myself, I’ll recognize the truck and I know who’ll be up for helping me look too, hence, I text Target to be ready for me to pick him up at eight in the morning.

After we’ve all eaten, I spend the rest of the evening watching Candy flit around from brother to brother, but no one is giving her the response she is after.

I know my brothers and they won’t be dipping into that snatch ever after what we’ve found out.
