Python: Soldiers Of Hades MC, #2

Python: Chapter 7

The main room was busy, when Python strode in. Yes, men were having coffee but there was a lot of activity. It was a given as Hades Demons were going to war soon.

He’d left Peggy Sue to Doc’s care as he was having her fed a good meal and issued vitamins, supplements and some protein drinks. Tory had come in and introduced herself while carrying a tray of food, saying she would help Doc and visit with Peggy Sue.

She had lost weight and it was no wonder, after the things she’d been through. Python also sent one of his Prospects out with a list of items she would need. Python took a guess at her clothing size, but he knew her shoe size right of the top of his head. Funny, how he never forgot that or the way her skin tasted or how sweet and small her ears were. Small things, like the soft snore she had when sleeping, or the way she curled her body into his.

The only reason she was alive had been that Father and his church. When this was all over, he would have to make a donation to that church that had taken her in. They sure as hell…He paused or as heaven, deserved it.

Cobra and Cotton were at one table looking at a phone screen.

Grabbing his coffee, Python paused as he looked down to see Wolf. The dog was staring at him. “Well, good morning, Beast.” Python gave him a nod. Turning, he headed to where his sons were sitting. The wolf-dog by his side.

Cobra raised a brow at him. “So you got a new shadow, Pops.”

Python snorted. “I think he believes I am tasty is all.”

Cotton snickered.

Python raises a brow at his smirking sons. “So, what are you both looking at?”

“Here.” Python slid the phone over. “Diamondback got this footage last night.”

Python took a sip from his mug and picked up the phone with his other hand.

On the screen, was a bunch of black SUVs heading in and parking at a hotel.

“What am I looking at?” Python asked.

“It’s Brago’s top men,” Cobra replied.

“Oh, so how many?” He set the phone down.

“Well,” Cotton answered. “Looks like 10 top lieutenants.”

Cobra nodded. “But one of my men has footage of about a dozen and a half in a small motel nearby. Foot soldiers, I imagine.”

Python shook his head.

Blitz one of his IT guys brought his laptop over and set it down.” Here’s footage off of Highway 191. Yesterday.”

It showed a few trucks, large ones packed down, heading into town.

“So?” Python asked. “How do you know they are Brago’s men?”

Blitz shrugged. “I got a friend at the border station. He spotted them and knew they were bringing in weapons, but all his co employees were told they’d better look the other way. Some get paid but most just get threatened. So, the way I see it. Is these 3 trucks are fucking loaded for bear, Boss.”

“Fuck,” Cobra swore.

“Well,” Cotton spoke up. “We still got an armory and Copperhead’s weapons are being smuggled in as we speak.”

Cobra nodded. “I got some Savaged Souls members, some of the Lost Sons and some Brothers Of Chaos heading this way. They all are going to stay scattered around us, then move in when I give them a text.”

“God damnit, kid. That’s great.”

Cobra shrugged. “I’ve got lots of brothers and they all hate the cartel almost as much as we do.”

“I got 10 men coming in from San Antonio as well,” Cotton added. “All of it counts.”

Blitz nodded at Python.” I’m working other cameras and when we spot something, I’ll come back.” He left the table.

Again, it was just father and sons.

Python stared at Cobra.

Cobra looked up.” What?”

“Have you been to see your mother?’

Cobra’s expression closed up fast. “I tried.”

“What do ya mean, you tried?” Python barked.

“She refused to look at me. I asked her 3 times to at least do that.”

Cotton looked over at him. “I went in and saw her. It wasn’t hard. “

“Yeah, well you were too young. You don’t remember her that well.” Cobra glared at him.

Python stared at him. “And what do you remember, Lucian?” he nearly growled. “The way she used to take you with her everywhere? Or be there at night to tell you stories her grandmother told her and tuck you in? Or baking cookies like she used to do? Or maybe she was out in the garage with you and that damned broken down bike when you were barely 13? Her handing you tools while you tried to learn the engine? Or maybe the time that—”

“Stop!” Cobra snapped. “I get the fucking point.”

“No. I don’t think you do.” Python stared at him. “Hell, I wasn’t much better. I cursed her name for a long dammed time. Hated her as much as I ever loved her. I ruined my life cause of it.” He met Cobra’s eyes. “You ruined your cause of it too.”

Cobra’s expression fell, as he looked confused. “What?”

Cotton shook his head at his Dad. “Pops, come on, don’t go there.”

Python raised a brow at him. “And why not? Maybe he can’t see it cause it’s too close to his damn face.”

Cobra growled. “What the fuck are you talking about?”

Python leaned back in his seat as he crossed his large arms over his chest and never broke eye contact with him. “You both been out on your own for a long time. And I will be the first to admit it was my doing. Driving you away. But I kept an eye on you. Had to. You’re my kids.”

“Pops,” Cotton cut in. “We don’t have to do this—”

“Yes, we damn well do,” Python cut him off, while never removing his gaze from Cobra’s. “You had a woman way back. The mother of your daughter.”

Cobra’s eyes turned to violet steel as he glared hard at him. “That isn’t any of your—”

“The hell it ain’t my business! I lost the chance at knowing a grandkid cause of that!” Python now cut him off. “You can’t tell me you did not fuck that one up. And you know why ya did. Doubting her, and letting the blame fall on her for something she never did—”

Cobra stood from the table, knocking over his cup with coffee spilling along the table as the chair hit the floor behind him with a crash. His face looked mottled with rage.

Cotton peered up at him as his eyes widened. “Shit…”

Python stood as well and faced him.

Two Titan men.

One older but still full of grit.

One, who was younger and full of barely suppressed rage.

The main room fell utterly silent.

“It was cause your mother had up and left you,” Python kept on going—heading into a hell, he might pay dearly for. “So when your woman seemed to do the same…you believed it.”

Cobra looked like he might attack his own father.

Cotton slowly stood up. He looked alarmed. That same alarm could be felt coming off the men in the room as well. “Lucian. Just walk away, man. You can’t go there. Walk away.”

Cobra blinked and then met his father’s stare. “If you were anyone else, I would pound you into the fucking ground.” His voice sounded like a seething deep fissure about to blow hot, burning steam everywhere.

Python’s steely gaze never flickered as he stared back. “And if I were anyone else, you might be able to do so. But I would end up putting you down, son.”

“STOP THIS!” a shout came from the far side of the room.
