Chapter 327
Naomi soon picked out the fruits she wanted and handed them to the store employee, who packed them up for her. Naomi paid for the fruits this time, and Charles promptly took the heavy bag from her. The two of them soon left the grocer and made their way to the florist.
The florist was a little further away and required a twenty-minute car ride. As soon as they arrived, Naomi began picking out flowers just as meticulously as she had done for the fruits.
Charles continued to wait for her patiently as she took her time picking out the perfect bouquet.
The two of them then returned to the hospital after Naomi had found the bouquet she wanted.
It was already past 11 a.m. when they arrived back at the hospital. Both of them were rather surprised at how fast time had passed.
Charles glanced at the time, then turned to Naomi. "Why don't we pay a visit to my grandmother, then pop in to see Amelia, and go for lunch after?"
Naomi considered this for a moment, then replied, "I think it'll be better if you keep your grandmother company and get some rest. I'll order some takeout and eat it with Amelia."
Naomi had not intended to go out for lunch. She had flown all the way to San Angelino to be with Amelia, so she wanted to stay by her side for as long as she could, at least before Sean arrived.
Charles paused, then glanced at Naomi once more. It was clear that her mind had already been made, so he nodded. "Alright then, but you don't have to order takeout. I'll order it for you. You're not from here, so you wouldn't know which restaurants are good."
It was clear that he wanted to take care of her since she was in his hometown.
Naomi smiled. "Okay then, Charles. I'll leave my lunch to you, then."
Charles grinned. "Prepare to be amazed."
"Sure."
The two of them entered the elevator, which brought them to the sixteenth floor.
Charles led Naomi past a corner and headed straight to the ICU.
her
Wendy was already waiting outside the room. She remembered Charles mentioning that Naomi would pop by for a visit, so she wanted to linger around and catch a glimpse of future daughter-in-law. Because of this, she refused to leave the room even though her relatives all tried to convince her to get some rest.
When she heard it ding, Wendy turned to glance toward the elevator. She was already on edge, waiting for Naomi to arrive. Her excitement was even more piqued when she got a call from Nolan, telling her that he had met Naomi by accident and What a nice young woman she seemed to be.
She was rather envious of Nolan. She could not believe that he was the first out of all of them to meet Charles' future wife!
Ever since she got off the phone
with Nolan, she had been waiting anxiously for Charles and Naomi to arrive and would turn around every time she heard the elevator ding, hoping it was them, but she was disappointed every time.
However, she was not willing to give up.
This time, a few seconds after the elevator dinged, she finally saw two silhouettes making their way towards her: one taller and one shorter, but both of them modest and demure. Wendy's jaw dropped.
