Pure Soul Book 2

Chapter 19

19. Azael

I sit on the sand where she said to meet her, and I wait, and I wait. I’ve sent a few text messages, but they all go unanswered. After I’ve sat for two hours I decide to go back to my place. Sighing in defeat I send one last text letting her know I’m going back home. How can I convince her to come and talk with me in person. When I return, I am surprised to see the house is quiet. I’m not complaining though, not having to worry about running into Belial lightens the stress I’ve been feeling. Going into my room I flop face first onto my bed. I’m not sure how much time has passed as I apparently fell asleep, but I begin to stir as my phone vibrates in my hand.

Looking at the screen I become suddenly more alert. Cassiel sent me a text letting me know she was going on a walk down by the beach and that she couldn’t control if I happened to be walking along the beach at the same time. I grin at her defiance and then let her know that I’d be taking a stroll down on the beach shortly. I grab the closest shirt, which happens to be a grey tank-top and jog out of the house not even bothering to slip on shoes as I go, my feet hit the sand as I jump off the deck and dash towards the ocean.

My eyes swivel about as I keep a look out for Cass. I’m beyond paranoid that I’m going to get stood up again and I’m not sure how I would react if I did. I sit on the sand half hidden by the dunes and my heart begins to flutter because I can hear Cassiel talking but then I question who in the world she would be talking to. She wanted me to come here secretly to meet up with her. No one should be with her if that’s the case! Thank the moon I have superior hearing and I scramble to my feet because I recognize the voice of the other being she is talking to, the other female angel, shit! There is a hilly area within the dunes, and I dive behind them. Well at least I know she wasn’t standing me up but hell’s fire, am I ever going to have a chance to speak with her?

I whip out my phone and send her a message. Hey, I’m here. You look absolutely beautiful! I see we have company so I’m assuming I won’t be getting to talk with you which is a damn shame because I’m dying to kiss you senselessly. I love you. Let me know if you can sneak out after all the others have gone to sleep. -Heart- emoji. I watch as she and the other angel walk by, and I know exactly when she receives my text because she jerks slightly before swinging her left hand behind her to grab the phone before realizing she couldn’t actually remove it from her back pocket. I smile and watch Cassiel look about as she tries to find my hiding spot. Even with the sun setting I can still see the annoyed, frustrated expression on her face and the ice daggers she’s shooting the other chick with her eyes. And I have to bite my lip to keep from laughing out loud.

Knowing they will have to walk back by to go back to their house, I happily continue to stay sitting where I am so that I can see her one more time. Like I said, just being near her makes me happy. Ten minutes later or there about they come swiftly walking by with Cass about three feet in front of the other just so she can distance herself from the one who had upset her plan. Once they pass by, I get to my feet and follow them, sort of. I sigh at just being able to smell her scent. I slow my walk to come to a standstill so I can watch them walk up to their house where I hear Cass say; “there, are you satisfied Ana? I was really just going for a walk by myself to create memories for after we pack up in a day and leave. And with your permission, I’m going to take a seat here on the deck for a little bit so I can watch the moon take its place in the sky and listen to the waves crash against the shore. Okay.” Cassiel’s voice is dowsed in sarcasm and snarky all at once. Hell’s fiery gate I love this girl!

“Yeah, whatever floats your boat,” Ana rolls her eyes and seems to stomp in through the doorway and into the house. I can hear Cass snickering after Ana shuts the door behind her. The kitchen and dining area go dark as the light is shut off leaving just the deck light illuminating the area around her.

“Psst,” I whisper loudly in her direction. Her head bops left and right for a second before focusing more towards the left which is the direction I’m coming from. A slight jog has me standing in front of her in a few seconds. Cass looks at me with wide eyes, surprised.

“What are you doing here?” She hisses. “Do you want to get caught? Oh my gosh. You need to go.” She looks around worried for a second. But she stands when I take her hand and the worry seems to melt away. Before I can lean in to kiss her, she is standing on her tiptoes kissing me. “I’ve missed you so much!” She exclaims as she steps back so she can look into my eyes.

Placing my hands on either side of her face I say, “I’ve missed you so much too!” and then I crush my lips to hers again and a desperate need takes hold of me; I wrap my arms around her waist pulling her as close as ‘humanly’ possible to me. Her arms snake up along my back under my shirt causing me to growl. I need her now! “I need you now.” We’re both panting hard as I say this to her, and she nods in agreement.

“My room is right up there. Do you think you could get up to that balcony?” Cass asks as she points to a window. I ‘think’ about it for a second as I pretend to figure out a way to get up to her room.

Nodding I say, “yeah, I’m pretty sure I can figure a way to climb up there. I’m pretty agile.” I wink. She says okay and to give her a few minutes to get up to her room. She’d get the window unlocked and be waiting for me. Cass leaves me shrouded in shadow as she goes into the house. In a matter of seconds, I see her bedroom light turn on and the curtain at the window flutter as she pushes it aside so that she can grasp the latch to unlock the window. Taking flight, I land softly on her balcony and tap my finger on the glass before sliding it open and walking in. She has just turned from having locked her bedroom door and watches me as I slide the door shut. I run a hand through my hair suddenly nervous, but the feeling is fleeting as Cassiel jumps into my arms smashing her lips hard against mine.

I undress her slowly making sure that every ounce of her body has proper attention from me. I hear her moan as I nuzzle her neck just under her jaw below her ear. I smile to know that I am the cause of the noises she is making. Cass takes her hands and pulls my face back to hers so that she can kiss my lips once more. All clothing tossed to the floor we tumble into her bed where our souls connect with one another quickly, merging and melding into one. “I love you so much Cassiel,” I say as she turns in my arms, and I wrap them around her tightly as I draw her in to snuggle and we drift off to sleep.

We are jolted awake by the sudden banging at her bedroom door. We bolted up in bed looking at each other disoriented until the second round of banging occurs against her door. Quickly we scramble out of the bed and Cass tosses me my clothing before shoving me out onto the balcony. On a whim she grabs my face kissing me and saying, “I love you, know GO!” in a loud whisper before whipping around sliding the door shut and closing the curtain. I jump to the ground and sand below, one knee touching the ground with my palm at the same time in a superhero pose. I dash over to my place, disappearing inside an instant later.
