Chapter 1528
Hearing this, Mya was so anxious that she stamped her feet. "Mr. Chin! Please don't agree with her request. She is obviously playing tricks. Maybe she will pretend to wash the skirt, and then run away directly from the back door later on!"
Mona also looked at him with great dissatisfaction.
Desmond touched his nose, shrugged his shoulders, and said, "I had already agreed with her request!"
What he meant was: "It's no use crying over spilt milk."
Tina tried to calm herself down.
Ignoring the gazes of the people around her, she turned aside and looked at Bonnie, who had been petrified by this sudden accident. She reached out, put her hand on the shooting equipments, and asked, "Bonnie, can I leave these equipments to you alone?" "Okay!" Bonnie nodded.
The equipments had already been set up and were ready to be put into use. Although Bonnie would become very busy if she was the only reporter to handle the equipment, she could still handle them. Bonnie looked at Tina nervously and worriedly. "But Tina, you..."
"I'll be okay!" Tina shook her head.
After making sure that her job of reporting the show wouldn't be delayed, Tina turned to Mona and said directly, "Miss Wong, please give me your dress first!"
As Mona met Tina's gaze, she gritted her teeth in anger.
"The grand finale is about to begin. How can this girl get rid of it?"
"I don't know... I feel that it's absolutely impossible. It's only more than half an hour before Mona should get on the stage!"
"I agree with you! I think it would be better for this reporter to apologize to Mona and admit that it was all her fault! In this way, the show could still go on normally. Otherwise, the grand finale of Mona might turn out to be a complete failure. It will then have a much worse impact!"
Hearing these voices, Mona sneered and said, "Well... I'll take it off. I'd like to see how you'll cry later!"
Two minutes later, Mya took out Mona's dress and threw it to Tina's hands.
Tina lowered her head and examined it again.
Then, she quickly ran to the backstage.
She looked at the dress and found some pink silk threads. These threads were actually left by the designer on purpose for any need of tiny adjustments in the future in case of any minor problem occurred. Only professional costume designers could realize this point.
Tina felt very glad that she could find the threads for adjustments. She went into a locker room so that nobody was able to disturb her.
The locked door isolated her from the outside world. In this narrow space, she could do anything she wanted.
Tina was neither anxious nor impatient. She looked at the hemline of the skirt carefully for a moment under the lamplight. Then, she began to mend the skirt with a needle and threads. The needle moved very fast.
One deep patching, one shallow patching, and then one circled patching... After that, tighten the threads...
Time passed by.
The show had already begun, and all the lights inside the hall were dimmed.
As the music started, models went to the catwalk one by one. The pop stars and movie stars, celebrities, etc also went on the stage for modeling performance.
In an independent dressing room, Mona was sitting in front of the mirror in a bathrobe.
She said to the makeup artist who was busy working on her face, "Kim, I want to be as beautiful as possible tonight!"
Mya, who was nearby, asked in confusion, "Mona, you're not going to perform on the stage. Why are you still wasting the time in your makeup?"
"You're a fool!" Mona snorted coldly. She raised her hand and caressed her face that was covered by thick makeup. "The more I attach importance to my performance, the more inculpable I will be when I can't get on the stage without the dress, and Tina Hall will have to bear more responsibilities!"
Mya realized Mona's plot and gave her a thumbs-up.
Mona revealed a confident smile.
She looked in the direction of the door and asked her agent, "What time is it now?"
Mya looked at her watch and replied, "There are still two minutes left! Haha... Tina Hall was so confident when she said she could do it... She is just a little reporter... How could a reporter like her repair the gorgeous skirt of a movie star?!! Nobody on the scene dared to say that they could mend the dress. She was the only one boasting that she could do it... Haw-haw, I want to see her cry later on!" Mona was overjoyed to hear that.
Two minutes passed quickly. Mona immediately got up and said, "Time is up. Let's go out and see her cry!"
Mya stepped forward and helped Mona out.
When the door of the dressing room just opened, the door of the locker room was also opened.
Tina walked out of the locker room.
Mona and Mya were about to begin teasing Tina, but when Mya looked at the dress in Tina's hand, she opened her eyes wide as if she had seen a ghost.
Mya rushed forward. "Hey! Have you really mended the dress?"
She grabbed the dress and lifted it up under the lamplight. She couldn't find any coffee stains on it!
People gethering up around were all shocked.
"Oh my God, she did it!"
"I can't see any coffee stains there!"
"Is she a magician? She had produced a new dress which is completely the same as the original one. How did she do that?"
Mya didn't give up easily. She searched for coffee stains many times, but found nothing. She then looked back to Mona with a pale face.
Mona's cold and arrogant expression became stiffened.
Tina took the dress back from Mya's hands and went straight to Mona, who was standing there stiff. "Miss Wong, I have mended your dress. What are you waiting for?"
Mona stared at Tina incredulously, and her expression was distorted by shock. "You have really mended it? How could it be possible?"
Tina ignored her words and looked at her watch. She then said sharply, "There is still one more minute before you should go on stage! If you fail this time, I won't be responsible for it." Mona's face turned red with anger.
She stared at the dress. Then, she could only grit her teeth and reach out to take it from Tina. She turned around and went back to the dressing room to put it on.
The show went on very smoothly.
Mona, the last one to appear on the stage, received a warm response from the audience. However, when the camera was focused on Mona's face, her smile appeared to be obviously stiff. At the end of the model show, Tina and Bonnie left.
Coming out of the elevator, Bonnie tried to defend Tina. "Mona Wong was so aggressive! Last time, when I asked for her signature on my brother's behalf, I thought that she was nice and affable! "But now my mind has changed. She was just pretending to be nice and affable. I really want to tell all her fans that she was arrogant and hypocritical in reality! Hum... I won't ask for her signature next time!" Tina just smiled and replied nothing.
She was not a foolish woman. She could feel that Mona was obviously hostile towards her.
The editor-in-chief designated Tina to report this model show, and emphasized that it was the sponsor who had chosen her. Now, Tina realized that it must have something to do with Mona, who must have set up some traps for her in advance.
Tina sighed. Aside from serving the "benefactor", Wilson Chin, she also had to deal with hostility from the benefactor's girlfriends and lovers...
Life was indeed not easy for Tina.
When they were about to walk out of the hall, a man came out from the office on the right side.
After Tina saw this man, she quickly said, "Bonnie, wait for me!"
Then, she ran over quickly.
"Mr. Chin!"
Hearing someone calling him, Desmond's movement of lighting a cigarette halted.
Seeing that Tina was running towards him, he raised his eyebrows. He was deeply impressed by this brave woman who had solved a knotty problem in the model show just now.
Esmond smiled and nodded. Then, he asked as if he was a curious boy. "You did a brilliant job in mending the dress! Can you tell me how you did it?"
