Pucking Around: Chapter 26

Hoooooly fucking shit.

I’m standing in the lobby of the hotel with some of the guys when the elevator doors open and out walks my Seattle Girl. She’s wearing the outfit. The outfit. The one that’s been haunting my dreams for almost three fucking months. It’s a sexy black jumpsuit with a low-cut “V” in the front and absolutely no back. She wore it the night we met.

This girl, I swear to god. For weeks I’ve been out here playing checkers with my stupid photos of tacos and my endless questions, just trying to get something out of her. Anything. She leaves me on read ninety percent of the time. I’d say it doesn’t hurt, but that’s a lie. I’m shredded by this distance. I’m not sleeping well, not eating. I’m distracted on and off the ice. Caleb has totally noticed. He keeps asking me what’s wrong and I hate lying to him.

But here comes my girl, floating out of the elevator, and with a flick of her hair, I know she’s playing chess. She wants me to keep chasing her. That’s the only reason she’s wearing this outfit. It’s not for her. It’s definitely not for some random guy she might meet at the club tonight—god, the thought alone has me seeing red. No, it’s all for me.

Fuck, she’s so gorgeous. Her dark hair is down and curled, sorta golden at the tips. And she’s wearing a mix of gold jewelry, including her little septum ring. I haven’t seen her wear it since she arrived in Jax. I missed you, beautiful, I want to say to that twisted ring of metal.

I’ve never really liked face piercings, but on her I’m ready to drop to my knees. My dick twitches in desperation. I’m riding the high of our win, and I need some goddamn relief tonight. And I know she knows exactly what she’s doing to me. She’s winding me up, waiting for me to explode.

Well, tick, tick, boom, baby girl.

A few of the guys let out wolf whistles and clap. It’s only then that my vision refocuses, and I see she’s not alone. Poppy St. James is walking at her side looking like a fun-sized snack in a curve-hugging blue dress. I mean, she’s gorgeous too. Fine, whatever. I don’t care. I only care about Seattle. If any of the guys even look at her sideways tonight, I might be knocking out some teeth. I’m already at her side before I realize I was moving.

“Hey, Compton,” she says with those red-painted lips. I want that color smeared on my dick tonight. “Lookin’ good,” she adds.

Of course, I look good. I’m a guy in peak physical condition wearing Armani pants. But I don’t care about me. I’m not going out tonight to wheel any bunnies. I already wheeled my girl. The only girl. I’m going out because if I have to breathe air tonight, it’s gonna be Rachel’s air.

I offer out my arm and she takes it, shifting her little clutch to her other hand. I’m actually fighting the urge to offer to hold it for her. God, I am so fucking whipped for this girl.

Novy’s right behind me, offering out his arm to Poppy. The group heads out the doors to the trio of waiting Ubers and we all pile in. I practically shove Langley out of the way to be the next in the van behind Rachel. I’m too big to fit a third person in the last row of seats, so we have it to ourselves. Poppy and Novy take the middle two pilot seats and Langley rides shotgun. Our van drives off, and Langley starts blasting some tunes.

I feel like everything is moving in slow motion. Rachel is next to me, the scent of her perfume taunting me. Our legs are touching from hip to knee as she leans forward, laughing and saying something to Poppy over the music.

Her bare back is on full display for me. She’s got that shoulder tat of three lines of coordinates. I never asked her what they’re for. My guess is her parents and her brother. Since he’s her twin, it’ll be for her too.

She’s got another one under her ribs disappearing along the side of her top. I can’t see it, but I know it’s there. My hand drops off the back of the seat until I’m brushing my fingertips over it. Her ribs give a little shiver, but she doesn’t break her conversation with Poppy.

I smile. Yeah, she wants me. She’s leaning in now, her arm on my leg. To anyone else, she’s just leaning forward to chat with her friend. But I know what she’s doing.

It’s so dark in this van and the seats are in the way. Poppy can’t see a damn thing, and Novy is on his phone. I let my hand snake around a little more until I’m brushing the edge of her top with my fingertips. A little wiggle and I’m under the hem, my fingers smoothing along the outer curve of her breast.

I shift in my seat, my dick screaming, and then I let my hand slip all the way in, cupping her full breast. Fuck, I love the weight of it. So heavy and full. I want to strip off her top right now and suck on her dusky pink nipples. I want to flick them with my tongue until she’s moaning, pinch them with my teeth until she digs her fingers into my hair and pulls me off.

I let my first and middle finger drift up, pinching her raised nipple until she clamps her arm down on mine, digging her elbow into my quad. Smiling, I back off, letting my hand drift out of her top and back to her side just as the driver pulls up outside the club.

The door glides open and Langley, Novy, and Poppy all get out.

“You gonna get out of the van, Compton?” Rachel says in that sultry voice. “Or do you need a minute first?”

I hold her gaze. This chemistry we have is otherworldly. “You like knowing my dick is hard for you, baby girl?”

She swallows, her teeth rolling her bottom lip inward on a little bite.

I lean in, brushing her hair off her shoulder as I whisper in her ear. “Tell me you’re not wet for me right now, and I’ll get out.”

She shivers again and it has my dick throbbing. “Jake—”

“Lie to me,” I growl.

She leans back, holding my gaze. “I’m not wet for you.”

Then my vixen damn near makes my cock explode as she takes my hand and puts it between her legs, clamping down on me with her thighs. Oh goddamn, I can feel her heat. She’s radiating with it.

“I don’t melt for you, Jake Compton,” she murmurs, holding my gaze. “I burn.

With that, she slips over my knee and darts out of the van.

Oh, baby girl, the chase is so fucking on.
