Psychic Enchantress

Chapter 49. Moving Forward

The graduation ceremony was super long. It was depressing though. Saying goodbye to all my friends even though I know they’re going to be at the party later was quite sad.

Jake and Shira are going to Florida to attend University of Tampa, Cynthia is going with Evan to the Niagra Falls with his family, while Chloe and Theo are staying here to attend NYU.

Mason and I will be staying here for another month and then both of us will be packing our stuff and on our way to Massachusetts. He rented an apartment there while I’ll be moving into my dorm. He offered for me to live with him but I don’t think i’m ready to move in with him as yet. I think its the nerves.

Who knows. What if he sees the way I am when I wake up and he ends up running for the hills!

I’ll stick with the dorm for now.

Both of us are super excited to attend Harvard. Its been his dream to attend there and also mine. Well its one of.

Now i’m here getting ready to go over Mason’s house. That’s where the party is. Its big enough to hold almost the entire graduate student body.

I was applying my makeup when my sister, Kalina walked in.

She was standing at the door of my bedroom staring at me with a look that i’m always going to recognize.

“I’m going to miss you lil munchkin.” She smiled, her eyes showing sadness.

She’ll be leaving tomorrow to go back to Florida. She got a job promotion that required her to go back there. So this will be the last time I’ll be seeing her for some time.

I got up and walked over to where she was. “I’m going to miss you too Kalina.” I sniffed.

“Stay close to Mason. I don’t want anyone to hurt you in Cambridge.” She put both her hands on my shoulders and stared at me meaningfully.

“Do you realize who you’re talking to?” I questioned her. “I’m one bad-

“Yeah yeah, you’re one badass enchantress.” She cutted me off and say.

"Psychic Enchantress.” I corrected her, a smirk plastered across my face.

“But you’re so tiny. So easily breakable.” She looked at me from head to toe speculatively.

I chuckled a bit at that. “Did you know Mason nicknamed me Tiny Tot?”

She laughed a bit and replied, “That suits you though. Its cute.”

I gave her a straight face. “Its insulting. That’s what it is.”

She chuckled. “I have something for you.”

“I know.” I smiled up at her.

“How do you know that?” She furrowed her eyebrows.

I tap my forehead and smiled mischievously at her.

“But you can’t read my mind. A pyshic can’t read her sister’s psychic mind.” She baffled.

“I’m not only a psychic. Remember?” I grinned at her.

A look of realization came over her face.

“Oh right. Whatever girlie. Let’s take a seat.”

We both took a seat on the bed. I turned and crossed my legs to face her.

She took something out of her black leather jacket and there in her hand was a black rectangle shaped velvet box.

She looked at me with a mischievous grin.

I stared back at her and waited patiently.

She turned her gaze to the box as she opened it.

In there, were two silver necklace with a small crescent moon shaped pendant with a charcoal colored diamond in the middle of its lining.

“One for me and one for you.” She grinned at me.

“Its beautiful Kalina.” I reached for the necklace to put it on. She did the same for hers.

The minute I had the necklace on, I felt a wave of calmness fall over me.

I gasped at the feeling. “What-what was that?”

“With the necklace, we’re linked. You can channel me whenever you’re in danger and need a bit more strength. Anything you need, just think of me and I will feel it right here.” She placed her hand over the pendant.

“So that feeling I had just now...” I trailed off as I gazed up at her.

“Yes. I made you feel that because I wanted you to.” She smiled at me.

I reached out and embraced her in a heartwarming hug. “Thank you Kalina. Its the best gift you’ve ever given me.”

“Hey!”

I let her go as I chuckled.

“You’re welcome. Now you’ve got to get going to that party of yours. I’ll see you tomorrow morning. I’m assuming you’re the one that will be taking me to the airport right?” She inquired as she got up.

“Yup.” I answered.

She was about to leave my room but I stopped her. “Kalina?”

“Yeah?” She stopped and looked at me.

“I love you.” I smiled at her.

She touched her pendant and gazed at me. I felt a wave of warmth come over me.

“I love you too munchkin.” She smiled as she left my room.

I sighed and walked to my vanity table.

I was already dressed for the party. The only thing that I had to do was put it in my green contacts. I couldn’t bother to cast a cloaking spell so I settled with wearing the contacts.

With them in, I was ready to go. I grabbed my purse, phone, Mason’s graduation present and my car keys.

“I’m leaving now Kalina!” I called out to her. She was probably in her room.

“Yeah, drink responsibly!” She hollered back.

I chuckled at that and left my house.

Twenty minutes later, I was driving into Mason’s driveway.

I could hear the music pounding from outside.

Some girl was outside on the front lawn puking her guts out.

Yeah Mason wouldn’t like that.

He’s gonna be super pissed.

I locked my car and walked inside the house.

Mason’s house was filled with most of people from school and some other people who I’ve never seen in my life.

I pushed through the crowd as I search for my boyfriend and my friends.

Its was Evan who I saw first. As I walked closer to where he was sitting, I saw that Cynthia, Jake and Shira was with them.

“Hey Ellie is here!” Jake hollered as he was the one who saw me first.

“Heys guys!” I shouted over the music. They all waved at me.

“Hi Xayla!” Shira shouted at me but it came out more of a slur.

“Is she drunk already?” I asked Jake. Well more like hollered.

“I, am not drunk.” Shira slurred once more as she rubbed her hand up and down on Jake’s shoulder in an overly caressing way.

Jake shrugged at me. “I turned my back for only a minute and she drunk almost four shots. She wanted to go all out tonight.

“We tried to stop her but she wouldn’t listen!” Cynthia shouted over the music.

I heard a loud crashing sound behind me. I look to see a vase in pieces. A very expensive vase I might add.

Mason is gonna be pissed when he sees that.

Turning back to my friends I asked for my boyfriend, “As anybody seen Mason?”

“He was breaking up a fight between these two seniors back in the kitchen.” Evan replied, pointing to where the kitchen was.

I gave my friends a small smile before heading into the kitchen.

Pushing through the ocean of people, I found myself stuck in front of a guy who I’ve never seen before.

“Hey there gorgeous. Aren’t you a little young to be in this party?” The guy looked down at me from head to do in a lustful way.

“If i’m too young to be here, that means your a pedophile. Now if you’ll excuse me..” I tried to get past him but it was no use. He used his hand to block me.

“I was joking.” He said seriously. “You wanna dance?”

“Uh no. I’m looking for my boyfriend." I stressed the word ‘boyfriend’ so that he could back off but he didn’t.

“Well I don’t care of this boyfriend.” He grabbed my hand and dragged me with him. I held Mason’s gift in my other hand tightly.

“Let go of me!” I screeched at him. I really don’t want to use any of my powers tonight. Not one bit.

He stopped walking and turned to me. “What, do you think you’re too good enough for me. Is that it?”

“Just let me go.” I gritted through my teeth. I was getting pretty angry and he was holding my wrist pretty tight.

“You heard the lady. Let her go.” A deep voice said behind me.

I turn my head to see Mason, looking quite pissed. Well. That’s an understatement. He looked murderous.

“And who are you?” The guy holding my wrist questioned Mason.

“I’m the boyfriend and you need to step away from her.” Mason said low and menacingly. I felt shivers run up my back and he wasn’t even talking to me.

The guy didn’t seem to budge though. Instead he pulled me closer to him. Now my back was pressing against his chest and I was facing Mason.

“What if I don’t want to?” The guy chuckled. I could feel the vibration off his chest and onto my back.

Mason gave a chuckle of his own and stepped closer to where me and the guy was. He was so close that I had to crane my head backwards to see his face and to do that, I would have to step away from the mystery guy.

Mason’s hand swiftly went over my head. I couldn’t see what he was doing but I heard the guy making a gargling sound as if he were choking. His hold on me loosened and I stepped away from him.

Now that I could see what Mason was doing, I had to stop him. The guy looked pale as if he were about to die.

Everyone else was too busy dancing and talking to their friends to even notice what was going on.

“Mason.” I warned him. “Stop.”

He ignored me. Typical Mason.

I stepped closer to him and placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Mason.” I said with the force compulsion.

He immediately let go of the guy’s throat and the guy collapsed to the ground gasping for air.

Mason grabbed my hand and began to walk towards the stairs. I followed behind. Like I even had the option not to. The guy was dragging me with him for Christ sake.

Once we were in his room, he took what I was holding and placed it on the ground then lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around him. His lips met mine forcefully and I responded immediately. He pressed my back against the door as his hand trailed up to chest. Our bodies were heated against each other.

He broke the kiss gasping for air. He then carried me to the bed where we sat.

He was a bit quiet for while but a minute after he finally broke the silence. “Why didn’t you compel him to stop?”

I knew who he was talking about. The guy from downstairs.

“Why would I when I have you to come to my rescue?” I replied charmingly.

He turned to look at me and a smile crept up his face.

“Xayla..” He sighed. “What if I wasn’t there?”

“Well then I would have to do my thing.” I simply responded.

“So what’s in that bag over there?” He referred to his present.

I grin at him. I turn my gaze back to the bag with his gift and it floated in the air from the door and glided to the bed and on Mason’s lap.

“Its your graduation present.” I giggle excitedly.

He looks down at the gift then back up at me, his eyes glistening. He opens it and there placed in his hands, was a framed pair of red boxing gloves, and under them was signature by the one and only, Muhammed Ali.

“How?” He gasped. “How did you get him to sign it?”

“Well I know how he’s your favorite boxer of all time and I couldn’t imagine a better gift for you. He was in New York for an interview with some talk show and I went over there and compelled everyone into letting him see me.” I grin mischievously.

Mason stared at me amazed. “You are crazy.

He placed the gift on the bed and lift me onto his lap.

“Thank you Xayla.” He pecked my lips. “I love it.”

“And I love you.” I replied, gazing into his eyes.
