Psychic Enchantress

Chapter 29. Spirit

We took Mason’s range rover and we were on our way to the home of Xayla Maguire. Well, right after promising the twins I’ll be back to play with them. They were so adorable pouting when I told them I was leaving. I have to come back anyways because I left my car there.

The drive to my house was somewhat quiet but it wasnt the distracting and unbearable quiet. It was quite peaceful.

When we pulled up in my driveway I didn’t see Kalina’s Honda. Its good that she’s not here because I needed to do what I planned to do for Mason, quietly and privately.

Mason parked and he followed me inside. I stopped by the kitchen and grabbed two bottles of water on my way.

“We’re going in the basement. Not my room.” I called when I saw him walking towards the stairs. He stopped and looked at me confused.

“Why would you keep my present in the basement?” He baffled.

“I’ll explain soon. ” I replied, giving him a small, smile. I did a slight redecorating in the basement to suit my needs. It became my personal place where I did my meditation.

I opened the door along the corridor and walked down the stairs that led to the basement. Mason followed behind, quietly.

The basement was not that packed with stuff. Only had a few boxes here and there. I cleaned the area so it wasn’t dusty or smelly. I had a red large blanket spread in the center of room and my crystal ball I got from Maria, rested on top.

I went ahead and sat on the blanket, crossing my legs. Mason followed and did the same. It was dark but not dark enough that I couldn’t see. I lit two candles and place them on each side of me in the candle holder.

“Okay will you please tell me what we’re doing down here. If its sex, I didn’t plan on doing it like this. We’re not even together Xay...” He blabbered.

I laughed at what he said. “I’m not having sex with you Mason.” I sighed.

He looked a bit offended. Probably wondering why I wouldn’t. Like he said, we’re not together. Just friends. Friends who happened to kiss twice.

“Mason. The gift I have for you, is a gift that you’ll probably treasure and help you move on from all the hurt you’ve been going through.” I paused, looking at him.

“I’m going to give you the chance to speak with your mom.” I added.

He looked at me like I had lost my mind but I was dead serious. “What, how?” He baffled.

“I’m a Psychic, remember?” I inquired.

“But I didn’t know you could speak to ghosts.” He stated.

“Someone taught me how to. So would you consider it or not?” I asked. “Because it would be rather rude to not accept my present.”

“Uh..ummm.” He looked like he was having a war inside himself. He looked nervous as hell.

I waited patiently for him to make the decision.

“Yes” he sighed, looked up at me with a small smile.

“Okay. Let’s get started.” I smiled.

“First i’m going to contact her, when I do she’ll speak through me and in that way, you’ll be able to talk to her” I explained.

He nodded quickly, seeming to be really excited.

“Okay. I don’t think I’ll be needed this.” I said putting the crystal ball behind me.

“Let’s get started, shall we.”

“What’s her full name and her birthday?” I asked him.

“Elena Elizabeth O’Brien.” He paused looking at me. “Born, August 17, 1972.” He added.

I closed my eyes, and rested my hands on my lap, facing my palms upwards.

Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.

Mason’s POV

Okay, looking back, I’ve always wanted to talk to my mom. Sometimes I’d lay in my bed and talk to her even though I know she wouldn’t respond. I was extremely close to her so I guess that’s why her death affected me so much. My dad’s still in jail for what he did but I wish he were dead instead of locked up in there.

I’m slightly nervous knowing that I was about to talk to my mom. Wait no, i was mad nervous. I dont know how Xayla’s going to do it but whatever. She’s Psychic but I never thought that she would be able to talk to dead people.

I’m not complaining but I guess its my nerves talking.

“Spirit guides. I ask of you for protection. I ask that high vibrational engergies be allowed through now or ever. My intention for this session, is for good and my good only.” I heard Xayla whisper. She looked so still I thought for a second she wasn’t breathing.

“Elena Elizabeth O’Brien. Mother of Mason O’Brien. Born August 17, 1972. Died November 16, 2004. Come to me.” She said calmly.

I looked around the room and I saw the candlight wavered. There weren’t any windows down here so it couldn’t have been any wind that caused it to waver.

I heard Xayla made a sound so I looked at her. She had her eyes still closed but a small smile was placed on her lips.

“I taste Oreo.” She murmured.

“Yeah mom loved Oreo.” I smiled at the thought of her grinning whenever she took a bite of oreo.

“Mason?” Xayla called but it wasn’t her voice that I heard. Her eyes were still closed.

“Mason honey its me.” Xayla mouth moved but she had the voice of my mother. It creeped me out a bit but mom’s voice sounded just like the way I remembered.

“Mom, is that really you?” I questioned, looking at Xayla.

“Yes my dear. I’m standing beside you but i’m sorry you can’t see me. You look so big now.” I heard my mom cry. I looked beside me but sadly I didn’t see any thing.

“Mom, I miss you so much.” I felt my heart ache a bit but I know it was because of how happy I was.

“I miss you too dear.” She cried. “I hear you whenever you talk to me but I need you to stop.” She said sternly.

“Wait why?” I questioned, looking at Xayla.

“Because you’ve been so depressed lately. I see the way you are. I need you to be the boy I remember. Always smiling, ready to help people. It breaks my heart to see you like this honey.” I saw Xay’s lips move and say but I heard my mom’s voice crying.

“Mom. ” I whispered.

“Please promise me that you’ll try and be happy. For me.” She pleaded.

“I...but...I can’t.” I felt my eyes getting wet.

“Please try sweetie.” Mom pleaded once more.

“I have to go now. Please take care of yourself and remember that I am always watching over you. Keep your grades up and be the best man I hoped you would be. ” she cried.

“I love you mom.” I sighed, feeling the tears fall.

“I love you too honey. Oh and please be nice Xayla. I really like her. Don’t shut her out the way you do.” I heard her say once more.

“I’ll try.” I laughed a little at that.

Xayla inhaled a deep breath then slowly opened her eyes.

She looked at me with so much care in her eyes that it reminded me of the way my mom looked at me. Xayla seemed like she really cared about me so i’m willing to stop shutting her out. I mean, this was the best gift I’ve ever received in my life.

I loved her even more because of that.

Wait....

I love her.

Okay woah this is huge but I can’t tell her just yet. I’ll just treat her the best I possibly can and protect her with my life, keeping her close to my heart.

“Thank you so much Xayla.” I smiled at her.

She went on her knees and leaned over, hugging me. I hugged her back and I honestly was in no rush to let go. Everything just seemed so right then and there.

With her in my arms.
