Psychic Enchantress

Chapter 20. Protection

"Xayla come back!" I heard Mason shout while I was being dragged away by someone. Oh sorry Mason that's a little hard to do right now.

I tried fighting even harder in getting out of their grasp. I bit down on their hand that covered my mouth so hard that I tasted blood. The person moved their hand cursing and i took the opportunity to yell for Mason.

"Mason help me!!!!" I shouted as loud as I could. The person who held me stuffed a cloth in my mouth so that prevented me from screaming out again. They dragged me behind the school where the car park was. It was dark and the car park was empty. My hopes were lost until I heard Mason yell for me again. He was much closer this time.

I tried screaming but it came out muffled by the cloth that was in my mouth. I saw Mason appear from around the corner and when he saw me, his face turned deadly. He grabbed me from the guy that was holding me and started to be the shit out of him.

Okay that's and understatement. The guy who I recognize now to be Jackson layed on the ground trying to fight back with blood oozing from his mouth and nose and Mason hovered over him throwing punches left and right.

Jackson looked like he was about to pass out and Mason didn't look like he planned on stopping. He still had that deadly aura around him.

I rushed over to him to see if I could stop him but but he was so focused on beating the life out of Jackson.

"Mason!!" I screamed yanking his head back so my eyes pierced through his.

"STOP IT NOW." I commanded gazing into his eyes. He stopped immediately. Gran had taught me how to compulse someone, well more like persuade them mentally by looking into their eyes/soul to do what I want. It never really worked before but I guess I needed him to stop so bladly that it had an influence on my powers which made it much more effective.

Mason stood up looking from Jackson to me still looking pissed.

"We need to go." I whispered to him pulling him deeper in the car park in search for my car, leaving Jackson on the brink of passing out.

Mason stopped at his car instead, getting his keys out dragging me with him.

"What are you doing? "I commanded.

"Get in." He ordered opening the door for me. Who knew he could be pisssed and a gentleman at that same time.

I got in and he slammed the door and walked around to driver's side getting in before slamming the door yet again. I guess he decided to take his anger out on the car.

He started the car and reversed so fast that I wondered how he didn't hit any cars parked behind him. He maneuvered the car so effortlessly that I was awed. I guess guys are better drivers than girls. Okay that's sexist. But Mason sure can drive.

We were on the main road going God knows where. Mason had both hands on the wheel so tight I could see his veins in his hands about to pop. Luckily it didn't. Because that would've been messy and...

"I told you to stay with Jake at all times but no. You decide to run off." He scolded me, finally breaking the silence.

"Its not my fault. You started a fight with Jake and made me run away." I grumbled like a child.

"He threw the first punch!" He defended.

"You didn't have to punch him back Mason!" I yelled.

"Oh so you're upset I punched your Lil boyfriend." He snorted.

"He's not my boyfriend!" I growled.

"Oh so you don't like him then?" He question looking at me.

I didn't answer.

"That's what I thought." He mumbled.

"It doesn't matter whether or not I do." I defended.

"Yeah well it sure as hell matters to me." He hissed.

"Why the fuck does it matter to you Mason? Tell me. " I ordered looking at him expectantly.

He didn't answer. He just stared ahead grinding his teeth.

"That's what I thought." I mumbled, repeating what he said, folding my arms, looking ahead.

I really hated Mason yelling at me. The more he yelled, the more it ached my heart.

I wiped a tear that happened to fall on my cheek. I never thought that if I ever cried that the reason would be Mason. Never.

He drove off the main road and in front a gated house around twenty minutes later. He reached out and pressed some numbers on the box thingy on the brick wall beside the gate. The gate opened shortly after and we drove in.

I wondered who's house it was because the house seemed like for someone who's filthy rich.

He parked and got out but I stayed in my seat, holding unto my seat belt. I watched him walk around the front of the car and stopped at my door, looking at the tinted window before opening the door.

"Xayla, get out the car." He commanded. Who the fudoodle cake does he think he is? Ordering me to do stuff like am a child.

I stayed there and pretended like I didn't hear him. He could've at least say please then I would consider getting out.

"Please." He forced through his teeth, as if reading my mind. Or maybe I was thinking out loud again.

I got out the car and stood there with my arms folded, not daring to look at him.

He closed the door and walked off heading to the front door of the house. I watched his figure leaving me out in the cold of the night.

He stopped and looked up in the sky muttering something that I couldn't hear.

"So are you coming or do I have to carry you in myself?" He said turning to look at me.

I looked away from him observing my surroundings before deciding it would be much warmer if I went inside the house.

I walked pass him to the door where I waited for him.

He opened the door with a key from the big bunch he had and walked inside leaving me again.

I sighed and walked inside and locked the door.

I looked around and the house was massive. It was a two story house but it was big enough to hold at least a seven member family.

"Make yourself at home." Mason said sarcastically before walking up the stairs leaving me...again.

I walked into what looked like a kitchen and decided to get myself something to drink. I opened the fridge but stopped to look at the pictures that were on the door of the fridge. One I recognize to be Mason when he was a kid, standing with an unfamiliar man and woman. I also realized that Mason looked extremely sad and two adults beside him had huge smiles on their faces. So I guess this is where Mason lived. Who knew he was rich or the people who he lived with were rich.

I opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water and found my way to the living room where I took a seat on the couch and waited for Mason.

"I see you've made yourself at home." Mason said startling me.

I looked up to see him now in a pair of grey joggers and a white tank top, barefoot.

I just sat there staring at him. I was still pissed that he yelled at me in the car.

"Would you like something to eat?" He asked, cocking his head to the right.

I said nothing.

"Ummm, would like something to change into then because you're sleeping here tonight ." he announced.

I looked at him wondering who he thinks he is. Kalina would be worried sick about me and I left my purse with phone at the school.

"I called Chloe while I was upstairs and told her to get your purse from Jake and call Kalina, telling her that you won't be home tonight. I left the reason part for Chloe to figure out. I also told her that Jackson is a dickhead and I caught him making out with some chick and she should lose him." He explained.

Okay I was pretty surprised that he thought of everything and that everything was set. I was sleeping here tonight. In Mason's house.

"Let me show you where you'll be sleeping. It's pretty late. " he said again after a few more minutes of silence.

I stood up and followed him without complaining. I followed him upstairs and into a bed room than was much bigger than mine.

"This is where you'll be sleeping. I hope its okay." He sighed.

I looked around the room and admired every bit of it.

I looked behind me to realize that Mason was no longer in the room with me. I sighed and took a seat on the edge of the bed. Tonight was so exhausting.

Couple more minutes after, Mason appeared with some clothes in his hands.

"Here are some clothes. I hope they fit you okay. " he said, putting the too big clothes that I recognized to be his, on the bed beside me.

He stood there looking down at me and I tried my best to avoid meeting his eyes.

"Okay...I'll leave you let you change. Come downstairs when you're finish. I'll have something for you to eat ready, before you head to bed. " he sighed before leaving the room....leaving me alone.

Again.

I hated when he did that. Even though I was upset with him. I really enjoyed being in his presence.
