Prophecy Of Doom

Chapter 35:

Meanwhile in the bedroom

Vasileios: “Are you always this quiet?”

Amara: “Are you always this talkative?”

Vasileios: “No. My master and I never had a normal conversation. He used to remind me why I was there and what my task was and that I should never break the rules.”

Amara: “You should’ve just ran away.”

Vasileios: “That was never an option.”

Amara: “Really? You kept telling yourself that?”

Vasileios: “Forget about me. Let’s talk about you.”

Amara: “I’d rather not.”

Vasileios: “Why not, it’s good to open up to someone.”

Amara: “No it’s not. It’s like bleeding in front of a starving lion. Keep it to yourself so that no one can use it against you.”

Vasileios: “You don’t trust me, it’s understandable.”

Amara: “I don’t trust anyone.”

Vasileios: “You’ve changed. The first time I saw you you weren’t like this. Nonetheless, I still admire you. I’m not gonna lie, you make me curious. I wanna help you. I know you’ve been through a lot and it pains me to see you like this. Don’t ask me why because I don’t know either. I can help you relax if you let me.”

Amara: “Do you think I’m a human, Vasileios?”

Vasileios: “No, you’re not human.”

Amara: “Then why are you treating me like one? This is human shit. They do it, they sleep or drink their problems away. If sleeping with someone would relax me then I think I would’ve slept with almost everyone in this town already but as you can see, I haven’t. A few minutes of pleasure can’t take away the pain I feel every moment and I get that you’re attracted to me but what can I say, your God has made me this way and the only thing that can relax me is their blood. My enemies’ blood. When I wipe them out from this earth, that’s when I’ll feel relaxed.”

Vasileios: “I’m sorry if I crossed the line.”

Amara: “You didn’t. I called you stupid the other day but I take it back. You’re not stupid, you didn’t touch me, that’s why or you would've been dead before you hit the ground. Since you wanna help me so badly, answer my questions. Why are there two of you?”

Vasileios: “What do you mean?”

Amara: “Why are there two messengers? If I’m the last heiress and I’m immortal, I think your master was capable enough to do whatever task he was given, alone, then why did he hire you?”

Vasileios: “I um…”

Amara: “You don’t know. Your master doesn’t tell you everything, did he?”

Vasileios: “You’re right, I’ve been kept in the dark like you.”

Amara: “I wanted to ask. Where did you go after our last interaction at the club?”

Vasileios: “Master had taken me back with him to Greece and had to give me the task to watch The Legion from afar.”

Amara: “That explains how you informed Diavolo about Darien’s plan.”

Vasileios: “Yeah, I saw them leaving with weapons so I informed my master.”

Amara: “But how did you reach Diavolo’s mansion that fast?”

Vasileios: “Master knew a shortcut. It was some sort of pond, created by faes using ancient magic. It takes you where you wanna go. Only a fae can use it. Since we’re messengers and related to the prophecy we can use it. There are several of them in different places. You can use it too. I mean your ancestors were fae and their blood is running through your veins. It won’t hurt to try and there's one east of this town.”

In Amara’s head: I don’t need to use the pond to get to where I wanna be in just a few seconds but I won’t say I’m best at it, not yet at least.

Amara: “Why are you referring to them as fae?”

Vasileios: “All the ancient powerful creatures are called fae, elves were one of them. Circe didn’t tell you?”

Amara: “She showed me her library, there were thousands of books and I didn’t have time to read about all the ancient extinct creatures.”

Vasileios: “But if you didn’t learn about them then how would you learn about yourself and your powers? Their history could help you a lot.”

Amara: “I’d love to learn about them once I’m done with Craven but it seems like you know about them a lot.”

Vasileios: “What do you think I did in my twenty five years of life? Master wanted me to read.”

Amara: “I’m listening.”

Vasileios: “Back then that world was called Alrhena. It covered an enormous area, certainly all the lands presently known and also the ones hidden from human eyes. A home for so many different and powerful otherworldly creatures. Masters of brute power among them there were ancient creatures who belonged to other worlds, creatures who could consume souls just by breathing. A world as vast that couldn’t be ruled by just one king, there were nine of them. Craven and Arnoha the sons of one of them, King Eden. I would say your ancestors were among the highest on the food chain.”

Amara: “And who is at the lowest?”

Vasileios: “Humans. In a world of magical creatures, the ones who didn’t have magic were treated poorly. They were slaves.”

Amara: “You can’t be serious.”

Vasileios: “Why do you think Craven enslaves humans? He has no respect for human life or any other life for that matter.”

Amara: “The Dark Elves…did they also have a kingdom or...?”

Vasileios: “You can say so but that wasn't among the nine kingdoms, they used to dwell underground.”

Amara: “Like an outcast. Why? Because they were evil?”

Vasileios: “Evil was everywhere. They were treated like an outcast for no reason. I don’t know if they were born evil or if they were made because of how they were treated.”

Amara: “So God wiped them all out because one king initiated a war with dark elves?”

Vasileios: “Oh no. You think God punished them so cruelly because of one war? There were many wars, not just one. And they had been warned and there was peace for 500 years and then The Battle of Alzar happened and I faced God’s wrath.”

Amara: “So all the ancient creatures got extinct?”

Vasileios: “Most of them did but there were a few of them who survived. For example guardian wolves…their descendants are still here, dragons. Otherworldly creatures but no one knows where they're being kept. The Bloodwalker Pack and their alpha is the most powerful one out there. Diavolo.”

Amara: “One and a half years ago he was just some gang Lord to me. Why did he get involved with the mafia? I thought the mythical creatures like to stay hidden.”

Vasileios: “Because of The Legion there were so many people disappearing from the streets, not just humans but werewolves and vampires too and neutral territory. The former boss of the Italian mafia was also involved. He was serving humans on a silver platter for The Legion to torture them and Diavolo knew, remaining hidden in this world would do no good even if it’s his territory and the agreement that kept his people safe. He knew he wouldn’t be able to protect humans so he did what was necessary. He killed the former boss and took over his empire. It worked in his favor and helped him protect everyone without revealing his true identity. In the neutral territory there are people in the gang who try their best to provide protection for women and children. Humans don’t know who he is. They think he killed the gang Lord for revenge and took his empire.”

Amara: “Did fae have mates?”

Vasileios: “Yes but it wasn’t easy to find them. They’re epic love stories you’d love to know about and who wouldn’t like to have a soulmate to spend eternity with them? Immortality would be boring without it.”

Amara: “Who decides it? I mean who decides what type of partner we desire and why the hell should we have to accept it?”

Vasileios: “The higher power that’s sitting up there but if you ask me I think the person decides what they want and it’s not like you are bound to accept someone as your mate. But what kind of fool would reject their soulmate? I’d kill to have that kind of bond.”

Amara: “Really? You think rejecting to be God’s puppet is foolishness?”

Vasileios: “If you think like that then you'd hate every creature of God and let’s not forget you’re one of them. God’s most beautiful and deadliest creation. Why don’t you think of it like this…there are people who are special and that’s why God gives them the privilege of having a soulmate. Two parts of one soul that are bound to find each other and together they become complete and profound to an extent that no one else can comprehend and accept them. It’s not a way for God to show us that we're his puppet but it’s a way he shows that he knows what we need in this awful world to survive. So are you gonna tell me what you’re doing? I mean with the werewolves. You rescued them and it seems you’ve been doing it for a while. Honestly I was expecting to find you in Greece near the Legion Territory. Have you forgotten what they did?”

Amara: “Forgotten? I didn’t forget anything. What do you want me to do? Attack them without any plan and risk them getting away alive? I’m not fucking stupid, Vasileios. It’s not like I’m wasting my time here, I’m trying to prevent something that would take place in the future and it’ll have a devastating effect on not only supernatural creatures but also humans…mostly humans. This world isn’t ready for this.”

Vasileios: “Is it more important than you avenging your brother?”

Amara: “Absolutely not. I’ve just given them an ultimatum that they don’t know about. In the meantime I’m doing some charity for this world you can say.”

Vasileios: “The people who attacked us tonight were humans as you said but what are humans doing capturing werewolves?”

Amara: “Not just werewolves, they’ve been capturing vampires and witches.”

Vasileios: “Why?”

Amara: “The same old reason. Humans’ greed for power is infinite but they always forget whatever they try to go against nature, devastation follows but they never learn from their mistakes. (Aria’s bedroom)”

In Aria’s head: You have nothing to worry about, Aria. They've just gone out for a hunt, they’ll be back in no time. Yeah, they’ll be back, don’t worry.

Walter: “Aria.”

Aria: “What is it?”

Walter: “Diavolo…we don’t know where he is. We can’t find him.”

Aria: “What are you talking about? You guys went out for a hunt, right?”

Walter: “Somebody informed us about one of The Legion’s hideouts in our territory and we went to take care of them but all of a sudden Diavolo was nowhere to be found.”

In Aria’s head: This can’t be happening. (in the living room)

Luca: “We couldn’t find him.”

Aria: “The fuck do you mean? How the hell do you guys lose your alpha? A 6′4 man just disappeared in front of your eyes? Do you want me to believe it? It’s been eighteen hours and you’re telling me you all can’t find my brother? Can you imagine what would happen if Craven knew about Diavolo’s disappearance? He would attack. What if he’s the one behind Diavolo’s disappearance? I can’t lose him, Walter. I’ve already lost my parents at a young age. I can’t lose my brother too.”

Luca: “We need to tell Amara. I was thinking they're mates and if Diavolo was able to find Amara then there’s a chance she can find him. I’m certain she can find him.”

Aria: “She hates us. Why would she do us a favor? She hates him because he lied to her.”

Luca: “She doesn’t hate us, she’s just in pain. She’s our best shot. She can find him. If we go around asking for Diavolo, people will know he’s missing and they won’t leave any chance to attack the pack.”

Aria: “How the hell will we contact her? We don’t even know where she is.”

Bruno: “She doesn’t use a phone, there’s no way to locate her.”

Rico: “I think I can contact, angel.”

Aria: “What? How?”

Rico: “She told me whenever I get in any kind of danger just remember her and she’ll find me no matter what. That she’ll answer.”

Luca: “That’s kind of stupid. How would she even hear you without a phone?”

Aria: “I don’t think Amara would joke about anything like this if she had to tell Rico that she’ll answer then she’ll answer. It’s Amara we’re talking about. A creature we know nothing about and what kind of powers she possesses. Go baby, let’s try. Call out to her, tell her you need her. We need her. (Amara’s bedroom)”

In Amara’s head: Something’s wrong. I don’t know why I have this strange feeling.

Amara: “Karl…”

Karl: “How can I help you?”

Amara: “Can you check on Zak real quick? Where is he and his wife?”

Karl: “Just a moment. He’s in Russia, in his house. Everything seems normal as the cameras are showing.”

Amara: “Rico?”

Karl: “Accessing the cameras. (somewhere in neutral territory)”

Pedro: “Look how the tables have turned. The big bad alpha in chains…bleeding to death. Are you gonna beg for your life Diavolo?”

Ryan: “Fuck off.”

Pedro: “I was waiting for this moment since you beheaded my brother. Do you remember him or have you killed so many people that you don’t even remember?”

Ryan: “Trust me, I know each of my prey’s names. Nonetheless, all of you leeches look the same so I might be confused.”

Pedro: “Inject the wolfbane. I’ll see how you’ll be able to laugh after this. Let me remind you about my brother. Blonde hair, 6 ft tall, green eyes, a scar on his forehead.”

Ryan: “Oh…he was on my territory feeding on humans. I did what I needed to do.”

Pedro: “No remorse? You’ll feel sorry but I’m done with you. I promise you that or should I just hand you over to Craven? He’ll even reward me for this but I wanted to ask you. Are the rumors true? Is the girl who was living with you the one who’s involved with an ancient prophecy? Is she really more powerful than all of us? If yes…then I’ll make m-”

Ryan: “Be careful how you speak about her. I’ll rip out your tongue with my bare hands and I’ll shove it up your ass.”

Pedro: “Oh, I hit a nerve. Does the big bad wolf have the hots for the abomination? Then I and all my men will take turns with her. (Ryan’s wolf growls)”

In Amara’s head: Rico told me about Ryan’s disappearance, I just couldn’t help myself but follow my instinct and it landed me here. At first I thought I was in the wrong place but no this is where I needed to be. Within a few minutes I was inside a warehouse filled with vampires but as soon as I stepped in my nostrils got filled with a familiar scent. And there he was…Diavolo. Chained but they don’t look like ordinary chains…his flesh is burning beneath them. He’s bleeding, his blood on the ground below him. I could feel my blood boiling in my veins, a rush of fury hits me in the chest. I couldn’t help myself. I could feel pain swelling in my heart and I hated how much his suffering makes me suffer. My Diavolo…what’s worse? Losing you now or later? You’ll be like other people in my life who will leave me at some point, immortal or not and as if he heard my thoughts his gaze instantly found mine and it made me realize he knew I’d come. A devilish smile crosses his lips and then he says…

Ryan: “Bow you motherfuckers. Your queen is here.”

Amara: “If one more drop of Diavolo’s blood hits the ground I’ll fucking set fire to your houses with your loved ones still in it and I’ll make you watch them as they burn and turn into ashes. And if you’re thinking you don’t have anyone precious in your life then I’ll make you believe you have a mate and that I burned them alive because of you and I’ll let you live with guilt and unimaginable pain for the rest of your life.”

In Ryan’s head: Her aura is enough to make these fuckers believe she means every word she said. And as they realized what type of creature that they were dealing with, they chose to be smart for once and they started wiping blood off my body thinking it’ll save them from her. I can’t help but laugh. And then it started…the dance of death. One by one they all got embraced by her brutality and at the same time she was done. They all thought the same thing…that even the devil is more merciful than her. But my brain is wrecked by witnessing what happened right here. Is it real or is the wolfsbane making me hallucinate? No, it isn’t a hallucination, it’s really happening. She’s disappearing from one spot and appearing in another one. Driving the knife right in their skull and there goes the last one. Easy for her to kill a dozen vampires. Then she turned to me and she threw a knife just an inch away from my wrist. It made the chain shatter into pieces and I hit the ground. (in the car). Does she look like someone who just bombed a whole building down…?

Ryan: “Thank you for coming to the rescue, love.”

In Ryan’s head: I wasn’t expecting her to answer me and then she turned to me. As swiftly as a wolf attacks their prey she grabbed my collar and pulled me to her face.

Amara: “If you ever pull something like this again I’ll kill you myself.”

Ryan: “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Amara: “You want me to believe that the most powerful alpha from the most powerful pack just got kidnapped by a dozen vampires? Do you think I’m a fool, Diavolo?”

In Amara’s head: He did not just laugh.

Amara: “Do you think it’s funny? You’re bleeding to death and you’re laughing? Why the hell did you do it anyway?”

Ryan: “To see you again. I’ll do it again. I’ll gladly bleed to death if it means I’ll get to see you one more time. You told me to not come after you so I made you come after me.”

Amara: “You know what, get out of the car.”

Ryan: “What? How would I get home then?”

Amara: “You have four legs and you’re faster than this car, you’ll reach home just fine..”

Ryan: “I’m not leaving this car.”

Amara: “Fine, then I’m leaving. (The Legion Territory)”

Zackary: “Hey, look at me. We’ll find a way, okay? Don’t panic.”

Witch: “There’s no way to escape. Craven will kill us if I can’t find the heiress and we can’t even leave this temple because of the spell. This is my punishment for all my sins I’ve committed for thousands of years. God is punishing me but I’m not afraid for myself. I’m afraid for you and our child. I can’t lose you both.”

Zachary: “It doesn’t matter what you were in the past. Don’t blame yourself. If fate gives us the chance to live and see if our child grow then it’s okay as long as I take my last breath near you I won’t complain. And if Craven thinks he’ll go unpunished for his sins then he needs to think again.”
