Project Trouble X Three

Chapter 1 - Bloodthirsty

Thanks for starting this journey with me. Happy Reading.

Recap

I couldn’t believe it had been sixteen years, sixteen years of driving our parents crazy, sixteen years of learning how to protect ourselves, sixteen years of learning how to keep quiet when we had to. It had been a hard life but also full of love. Our parents trained us as if we were in the military. We had heard the stories of how our parents met and couldn’t wait to find my mate as long as he treated me well, but if he didn’t I would kick his ass to hell and back.

Cats POV

I was sitting in my dad’s office, watching him make gadgets. I had learned a lot from my parents but I was the only one out of my siblings who had enough brains to help. Don’t get me wrong, my siblings could be smart but they didn’t have the patience to slowly put weapons together.

“What are you thinking about?” My dad asked me as I looked at him.

“I was thinking back about all the attempts on our lives. I know you told us why but I don’t understand why they still chase after us. Do they want us for something?” I all but growled.

“Yes. They want to kill you. We told them you didn’t want anything to do with their drug trade but they don’t believe it and still want to take one of you with them to play with your minds, then kill you when your mom and I are watching. Sorry, I can’t sugarcoat anything but it’s better you know the truth.”

I nodded my head as sirens went off, well, lights went off, we had never had sirens with sound unless it was at the base. I jumped up and ran to the nearest weapons closet. I suited up, grabbed weapons, throwing some to my dad. Mom ran in with the rest of my siblings and grabbed their things as we got into positions to take out whoever was coming through the doors.

We had barely got into position when a grenade was thrown through the window. I watched my mom pick it up and throw it back outside, a look of amusement on her face as she winked at me. I wanted to laugh my ass off but my training kicked in, one I learned as a child - don’t make a sound, don’t give your position away.

Three men rolled through the window, looking around to pinpoint where we were at. None of us moved, not one inch. We were barely breathing. My dad had made us suits that rendered us almost invisible - which was something I had helped with. The men had some kind of training, making me think they were enforcers. Enforcers were men or women with specialized training, training almost like the military. But, our training was hardcore and had included everything my mom had learned when she was with her uncle, the bastard who had hurt her and killed my grandparents. And, I was itching to use some of my training again.

Two more men and a woman repelled from the skylight as they looked around as if their heads were on a swivel. I knew the woman was going to be as tough as nails. I could feel her excitement in the air. I could tell the woman and another man were cats, lions to be exact. I knew the lions were all about brute strength with little flexibility when it came to getting out of tight situations..

I cut my eyes over to my mom when I heard her voice from my comms, letting me know my brother wasn’t squinting his eyes enough to not be seen. It was one of the first lessons we had learned and I couldn’t understand why he didn’t squint. I was sure my mom would tear him a new one when we got out of this.

“Encontre uma das garotas, ele nao quer o garoto,” I heard one of the men say.

Seriously?

They only wanted one of us girls, they didn’t want our brother. I knew if they somehow got their paws on me they would have a fight on their hands, one I was sure they had never seen before. I wasn’t going to let some ass put his hands on me I would kill them where they stand. If they thought I was a soft little girl then they didn’t know my mother as well as they thought they did. We had been taught every trick in the book and then some, even our uncles showed us a trick or two. They each taught different forms of martial arts, shooting techniques, throwing techniques, how to stay invisible when stalking your prey, and my favorite, how to curse like sailors. Mom really liked that one, but she couldn’t say anything because she cursed like a sailor herself.

I watched as they moved around the room, looking through some paperwork. “There’s nothing here to tell us where they went,” I heard the woman complain. “I don’t want to die when Larusso finds out we can’t find them.”

Well, by all means, die bitch, I thought. She thought she wouldn’t die when she came after us? Why were the evil ones so crazy? Did they come into our house, breaking things and looking through paperwork to find one of us girls and take us to a monster? What the hell did they were going to get, a tickle and a nice farewell gift?

Not likely

They left the room we were in talking about checking the other rooms for information on us - which they would never find. We weren’t stupid enough to leave pictures, notes, or directions to any of our safe houses, well, dad would leave one out for them to find. But, they would go kaboom a minute after being in the house. It was a house in the country, one which didn’t have neighbors close by. The house was set up as if we lived there, with fake pictures, fake numbers of friends, numbers we knew didn’t belong to anyone but the base.

“Acertei. Encontrei o esconderijodeles,” I heard the woman yell, excitement in her voice at the prospect of taking one of us. She was going to be in for a surprise when she went to the safe house, one I couldn’t wait to watch on the monitors.

“We stay here,” I heard one of the men say in an accented voice as he pointed between him and another man. Well damn. I was really looking forward to seeing them get blown to bits.

Bloodthirsty, I like,” my jaguar told me.

Me, too

I could tell the woman wanted to argue with the men but her a couple more men left the way they came in - through the skylight. I wanted to shake my head at the idiots. I wondered why they didn’t use the windows they had broken, but then I heard why when I heard the blades of a helicopter, one was already on the roof of our house. Good thing we had a helicopter pad or we would have had the roof fall in on us. I knew my dad had put sensors on the roof in case of this very reason.

The men walked out of the door, heading to our living room, but we didn’t move. We knew they were trying to trick us into moving. We weren’t as dumb as they thought. I knew for a fact my dad had sent out a signal to Madrid and the Shadow Cats and I couldn’t wait to see what surprises they had in store for these men. I wanted to help but I knew my mom and dad would hand me my ass if I moved.

I saw my dad countdown and then heard a loud boom as the Shadow Cats poured into our house. We ducked down at my dad’s hand signal. My parents moved as one, making sure to look at each of us and giving us a signal to stay where we were. I wanted to roll my eyes at their over-protectiveness. They knew we could fight but they didn’t want us to get our hands dirty, not that we had never gotten our hands dirty before. I rolled my eyes as I watched them move towards the living room, my mom going right and my dad left.

I heard the skylights explode as my parents cleared the room.
