Chapter 25 - I Feel You

Matheus walked over to the tube. “Selina, you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m okay. Can I use the bathroom or am I going to have to go in the tube. Just kidding, maybe,” I answered, trying not to move around a lot.

Matheus looked back over his shoulder. “Is safe for her to use the bathroom?”

Madrid was looking at all the camera’s. “She has a few minutes until the next idiots show up.”

I was up and out of the tube like a shot. “Thank God.” I ran to the bathroom. I tried to hurry as much as I could. I was having the feeling I had from before - the one when the monster showed up. I did my business, washed my hands and ran back out. “The monster is on his way.”

“What? When?” Madrid asked.

“Now. He’s coming now,” I said quickly and quietly, moving back to the tube.

“Damn, she’s right,” Madrid acknowledged.

I grabbed hold of the strap, kissed Matheus’s lips, and dropped into the tube quietly.

“Ela me beijou,” Matheus said, wonderment in his words. He couldn’t believe she initiated the first kiss..

“I know she kissed you, dummy,” Madrid interjected.

Matheus laughed loudly, closing the tube on both sides. He got up and walked to the monitor. “Damn it! He has more men with him this time.”

“Wait! Look at Antonio, the trainer, he sending hand signs.” They watched and immediately moved to the tube, grabbing their computers and go bags.

“You are about to have company, Selina. We need to bug out,” Matheus told Selina.

I didn’t say a word. I moved back and waited on the men. After they were through the tube, Matheus shut the tube from inside the house, then shut the inside cover, locking it and sliding down to Madrid and me. “Wh-”

Madrid and Matheus shook their head, moving quickly through the tube. Before they could get to the bottom they heard the monster screaming for the men. Telling them they were coming in. They had credible information and were taking them in.

Right, I thought sarcastically. They were going to kill them, not take them in. In where exactly? I was pretty sure it wouldn’t be a five star hotel, more like a negative one-hundred star cell. I can’t believe they thought they the guys would fall for their shit lies. He had to be smoking his own product to think anyone would believe him.

When we reached the bottom the monster and his men stormed the house, yelling and knocking things over.

Matheus hit the button for the rock wall, sliding the cover and locking it with more bolts than Fort Knox. He set a charge on our side of the wall, laughing quietly as he did so. He looked like a cartoon character villian rubbing his hands together.

I looked around, waiting to see if we were going to stay here or what.

“Here,” Madrid coaxed, handing Matheus and me something. “The shadows have their coms in. I need to let them know where we are. We can regroup and start planning.”

Matheus and I put our communication units in our ear, listening to the Shadow Cats talking about the fool men. Another was complaining about almost being walked on. It was a study in human, jaguar mentality.

I was sure they had a great front row seat to the shit show. I knew they would find the tube but what would happen to them when they started sliding would be another shit show for real. It would also be a lesson in who not to fuck with and his name is Matheus.

“Alright, shadows, Matheus, or go-go gadget as you call him behind his back, is going to send you coordinates to the cave we will be in,” Madrid ordered. “As soon as you can bug out head our way.”

Matheus and I snickered. Only Madrid would know what they said in confidence. And, he let them know that he knew everything about his men.

“Roger. The ass-hats are still tearing the place down. Sorry, Matheus, but you may not have a home to come to when you get back,” a shadow whispered.

“Not a problem. I have another one here,” Matheus told the shadow.

“You do?” Madrid asked.

I watched as every thought passed Madrid's face. He wanted to know why he didn’t know about it.

“Yes. I built it a few years back. It has four rooms opposed to one room,” Matheus answered Madrid, laughing quietly.

“I bet he’s giving you the look of what the hell, Matheus. He supposed to know everything about us,” a shadow commented.

“You need to move. Sorry, Matheus, but we set charges under your home. We wanted to get this fucker,” another shadow explained.

“Glad you did. Hope you are moved a safe way away,” Matheus commented.

“Of course.”
