Pregnant And Rejected Omega

Chapter His Hatred

Harlyn

It has been weird this morning. Wayne left with the pups to spend time with my Father and for some reason, Lucy hasn’t left the room.

I’m not sure why she is here, but she isn’t willing to leave. We’ve spoke a lot about her and Samuel, it is nice to hear about how they started and have grown to love each other.

Mates sometimes have no feelings for each other. Some even go as far as hating each other, like Stefan and me. Sighing, I consider it. I remember now before he became cruel and heartless, we were close.

I felt like I loved him even at that young age, but he didn’t love me, or did he?

“You and Wayne.” I glance up, hearing Lucy speak. “Why haven’t you mated or slept together? You said you don’t even share a bed at home?” She looks at me, confused.

“When I got to Wayne’s pack, I was a mess; I was heavily pregnant and not mentally right. I was weak, more because I had faced like six months of rejection over and over from pack after pack. I felt like I couldn’t trust anyone enough to let them in fully.” My head falls, and she hugs me.

“But you lived with him for eight years, Harlyn.” She stares at me, confused.

“He’s amazing, and he wanted to, but he said he would go at my pace. He was also getting over his wife dying, so we were both friends for years.” I explain, and she nods, seemingly understanding.

“Still, you are getting married and have never done that?” She looks at me, waiting.

“I didn’t feel ready; I don’t know how to explain it, Lucy; I just know I never felt ready. I trust him, but I don’t feel ready to let someone that far in, no matter who it is.”

She nods and smiles, and we hear the knock. I watch as she opens the door. “Earl Harold.” She steps back.

“May I have a few moments alone with my daughter, please?” He looks from Lucy to me. I nod at her and watch as she walks out.

“Father,” I stand and move back, unsure of how to feel about him being here. Wayne had come back saying the pups were with Stefan, as my father never showed up. I ordered Wayne to go straight back to them in case he showed up.

“I have work to do. Can you stay tonight so I can spend time with the pups?” He looks at me, waiting.

Again? He should have been there this morning. I told Wayne to wait until after lunch so he had a chance, and he shows up now when we’re set to leave in a few hours.

“I can’t; I stayed longer than I had planned,” I explain, and he looks at me disappointed.

“Harlyn, I need you to stay. Stop making things hard.” He stands staring at me.

“I’m not making things hard. I agreed not to leave last night for you, and you didn’t even show up this morning. I told Wayne we would wait until after lunch to give you a chance, and you still didn’t know how.” He won’t make me stay.

“Harlyn, I had to go to the border with some soldiers to protect the kingdom.”

“And now you’re here? You could be with the pups now, but instead, you’re here spending the last few hours trying to get me to stay instead of just spending the time with them.” Does he now realise that? He doesn’t want me to stay for him to see the pups. I don’t know why he wants me to stay, but that’s not the truth.

“Harlyn, stop being a damn brat.” He shouts, and I flinch.

“I’m not! I stayed last night. You had a chance. You still have time now to see them.” I won’t delay leaving for him again.

“Why can you not just do as you’re told for a change? You need to stay!”

“Need to stay, Father? Why do I need to stay, I’m exiled, disowned, I don’t need to do anything you say anymore!” My words are screamed, and my body shakes. How can he just expect me to follow his orders now when he disowned me, exiled me and gave me nothing but abuse?

“Harlyn, this is your final warning, you will stay here with those damn pups!” His words are spat at me and I laugh.

“No! I knew you didn’t care about them, so why the hell do you want me to stay?” He’s up to something, and I don’t like it. I wish Wayne was here, he seems to behave when Wayne is close by.

“Do not raise your voice at me; you have two choices: you stay, or I have you arrested, then you can’t leave.”

I laugh at his words. “You’re serious? You’re going to have me arrested for what?” I scream, feeling ready to explode, my body shakes, and I feel different.

“For seducing the king! For playing mind games and tricking him into believing it was him that night.”

Does he still think that’s not true? Why would Stefan lie about that?

“I assure you I did nothing to seduce the king, and it is him who confirmed it was him that night. Not me!” My words get louder.

“You will stay.” He steps closer, and I step back.

“No.” My voice wavers.

“You used some kind of spell, right? What did you do to the king to make you think he loves you so much that he threw away a perfectly good future queen for nothing more than a whore!” His words are screamed in my face. My mouth opens, and he continues.

“Do you think we’re blind? No one is, so whatever spell you used, you can just undo it and disappear forever and never return!” My body sinks back slightly as he steps closer.

I watch as his body disappears, and I see Stefan standing with him pinned against the wall.

“Do not raise your voice at her again!” I watch as Stefan pushes him out of the room, and the door closes. The tears I had fought back finally fall now the room is empty.
