Paranormal Twins: The New Beginning

Chapter 7: Jay

“Freaks.” I heard Kora, the obnoxious head cheerleader, mumble under her breath as we passed her and her posse. Usually Sage and I could ignore it, but I saw something in Sage that changed her whole demeanor. She stopped walking and I had to turn around. Sage’s hands were clenched into fists and there was anger in her eyes. I gently put my hand on her shoulder.

“Sage, leave it. She’s not worth our time.” I moved my hand down her arm to her wrist, meaning to pull her away. She jerked her arm back and whipped around. Kora’s eyes widened at her in surprise. Sage never openly turned her abuse back on her.

“Ooh,” Kora said, trying to hide her shock, “The dyke’s getting a little feisty today.” She smirked.

“Kora, I know you’re in love with me, and I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but I’m straight.” Sage crossed her arms and popped out her hip. She was bringing on her sass.

Kora opened her mouth, not knowing what to say. I smirked. She wasn’t ready for that. “Wha… What? You wish, freak!” She scoffed. “As if! No guy would get near you.”

I rolled my eyes and mumbled under my breath, “What am I, chopped liver?” I shook my head and looked back at them, ready to break them up before things got serious.

“Well, that’s a bit ironic, considering my best friend is a guy. And considering I’ve had a boyfriend for over two years now.” Sage retorted. I glanced towards her quickly. Boyfriend? She never told me about a boyfriend before.

“Jay’s a total faggot.” One of her groupies, Jessica, said. “Why do you think he gets along so well with the baseball team? He’s a total catcher.” She laughed and I just shook my head, not bothering to say anything to them.

“Where’d you meet your boyfriend? InYourDreams.com?” Kora smirked.

Sage growled angrily. I felt something brush against my hand and glanced down. My hand clenched into fists and I stared at what it was. I heard shoes scuffing the ground and I forced myself to look up. Kora, Jessica, and her other follower were practically running away in fright. Sage slowly turned around and I stood there, frozen, unable to move.

Sage had bright orange eyes, tiger ears coming from the top of her head, and sharp claws coming from her fingers. The thing that brushed my hand, I noticed, was a long orange and black tail. She leaned forward, as if she was a cat ready to pounce. I backed up slowly, scared of what Sage was going to do to me.
