Chapter 69
Chapter 69 Encounter With The Boss
Days passed like water, and since Emily found out she was pregnant, she became increasingly cautious.
The person who is even more cautious than her was Mr. Satan.
At ten in the morning, she was cooking in the kitchen when Olivia leaned against the kitchen door and complained, "Is Allen Parker really just a CEO of an entertainment company? Are you sure he doesn't own a cash printer?" Emily was frying eggs. "What's wrong?"
"He said he'd pay me ten thousand every day to take you to the hospital to deliver meals to your father. Ten thousand a day!" Olivia pouted. "He'd be better off buying a nanny car and hiring a driver, nanny, and bodyguard. Their salaries combined wouldn't even reach ten thousand a day."
Emily just laughed when she heard it. "I mentioned to him last time that you were short of pocket money recently. I didn't expect him to come up with this method."
"Oh my god," Olivia threw her phone directly. "Did you really tell him that?"
"Yeah," Emily nodded. "You said you liked a bag but your pocket money for this month was spent, so I just mentioned it. How much is that bag?" Olivia held up five fingers.
"Fifty thousand?"
"Five thousand," Olivia said. "Are you misunderstanding me? Although I spend a lot of money, I can't casually buy a 50,000 bag! Hey, Satan's salary for one day is enough for me to buy those bags. Emily, we grew up together since childhood. It's only natural for me to protect you when you're pregnant. I feel like I can't accept Allen Parker's money."
Olivia was determined not to accept this money, but Emily thought for a moment. Given Mr. Satan's temperament, if the money was given away and then returned, he would definitely be unhappy.
So she said, "Why don't you save this money? Or invest it in something."
Olivia pondered for a moment and found it feasible. "Okay, I'll set up a fund in your name, just for helping women with infertility. We're doing a good deed for society, and it's also accumulating blessings for you and the baby, okay?" Emily smiled. "This money was originally for you, you can distribute it however you like."
"I never thought that I would one day contribute to society," Olivia raised her phone and showed Emily the latest text message. "I just received the transfer notice this morning, one million, my salary. I almost thought I was seeing things." During the conversation, Emily finished cooking.
Olivia sniffed. "Emily, your cooking skills are really getting better, it smells so good."
Emily served her a bowl of soup. "The soup is a bit hot, drink it slowly."
Olivia took a sip of soup and sighed. "You really have a talent for cooking."
Emily smiled. "If you want to eat, just come over, I'll cook for you."
Olivia chuckled. "As long as Mr. Satan doesn't find me annoying."
"He's usually at the office during the day and only comes back at night, so it's fine for you to come over during the day."
Olivia readily agreed. "Then you better not find me annoying."
Emily quietly served her another bowl of soup.
"Oh, Emily," Olivia finished her soup, suddenly remembering something. "You know, Sophia's luck is really unexpectedly good! She and her baby were almost at death's door, but theblood urgently transferred from another hospital actually saved her! Now she's pregnant with the child and doing fine, it's really infuriating."
Emily packed the cooked food into lunch boxes. "She made mistakes but she doesn't deserve to die, and
the child is innocent. It's a good
thing they were saved."
"I just feel like God is so unfair. He's so kind to bad people and so harsh to good people. But he also made some compensation by letting you meet Mr. Satan." Emily smiled. "You can't say that about God. He made the best arrangements."
Olivia nodded. "Yes. It's almost time, let's hurry to the hospital. I'll tell you, Mr. Satan even stipulated that the maximum speed couldn't exceed 40."
The usual half-hour drive took an hour today.
When they arrived at the hospital, it was exactly twelve o'clock.
Olivia sighed as she parked the car. "Oh my god, it's the first time in my life I've driven so slowly." She rolled down the car window and waved at Emily You go ahead, I'll wait
downstairs and take you back later."
BUMS
During lunchtime, the hospital was a bit crowded, and Emily had to wait quite a while for the elevator.
Ding-
The elevator doors opened.
Emily was about to step in when she saw a familiar figure.
"Emily?"
Emily politely smiled and greeted, "Boss, what a coincidence? Are you here to see a patient too?"
Jackson gave her a displeased glare. "It's not a coincidence. I'm here to see a doctor."
Emily looked him up and down, still dressed in his punk style, without a scratch on him.
"Oh, I see... Well, I won't disturb your doctor's visit. Take care of yourself."
With that, she bypassed him and pressed the button for the sixteenth floor.
As the elevator doors were about to close, a large hand suddenly reached out from the gap and pulled her out.
Jackson gritted his teeth angrily. "Emily, you're really heartless. Don't you even want to know what illness I have?"
