Chapter 20
Chapter 20 We Haven't Divorced Yet
Emily was awakened by Olivia's call at seven in the morning.
"Emily! Let's go eat Australian lobster!"
After being "tossed around" by Mr. Satan in various positions for almost the whole night, Emily was so tired that she couldn't open her eyes properly. "Olivia, can we do it another day? I'm really sleepy..." "Don't be like that! The lobsters today are amazing, you won't regret it."
Emily sighed. "We're having lobster for breakfast?"
"Yeah, they just arrived fresh from Australia this morning. We have to eat them while they're still fresh! Come on, I was your chauffeur and bodyguard for free yesterday, give me a break, okay?" Emily didn't have any more excuses to refuse.
After hanging up the phone, she was wrapped around the waist by a big hand. With a little force, she was pulled back into a hot embrace.
The curtains were tightly drawn, not letting in a single ray of light into the room. Emily lay with her back to Mr. Satan, unable to move as he held her.
For the first time in many days, she woke up with him still by her side.
Mr. Satan buried his face in her neck, but there was no cold touch of a mask.
He wasn't wearing a mask!
Emily bit her lip, feeling a bit nervous.
"Whose call was it?" His voice was lazy and sexy.
"Olivia's call. Her dad gave her some pocket money, and she wants to treat me to lobster," Emily replied.
Mr. Satan caressed her flat, delicate abdomen. "Eating too much lobster might affect pregnancy."
She was stunned.
"But it's okay," Mr. Satan chuckled. "I'm confident in my abilities."
Emily quickly got out of bed, dressed, and left.
This man was too straightforward in his speech.
Just now, they were so close that Emily could clearly feel a certain part of his body changing. If she didn't leave soon, she probably wouldn't be able to get out of bed all morning.
Olivia's car was already waiting downstairs at the Hilton Hotel, and she waved excitedly when she saw Emily coming out. "Emily, over here!"
Since the wardrobe had been turned into a sea of pure white by Mr. Satan, she didn't have any other colors to choose from when she left. She grabbed a white blouse and a long skirt, leaving her hair casually loose. Olivia looked a little stunned. "Wow..."
Emily fastened her seatbelt in the passenger seat. "What's up?"
"You really look different now, more like a celebrity."
Emily chuckled. "It's not that exaggerated."
"Before, you were afraid of Carol criticizing you for spending money recklessly. You always hesitated to buy clothes. But now, when you wear new clothes, you look completely different from before." Emily smiled but didn't say anything.
Before, she hardly ever spent money on herself. Carol managed the money strictly, and she didn't have any spare cash to spend, nor did she dare to spend it.
Many of her clothes were hand-me-downs from Carol, who didn't like them anymore and just gave them to her to wear.
It was hardly surprising that the old clothes didn't look good.
Olivia was genuinely happy for her. "Leaving that jerk Nathan, your complexion and state have improved more than a little bit. Emily, you should have left him a long time ago."
"It's not too late now. I went to sign the divorce agreement a few days ago. Technically, we're already divorced, we just need to go to make it official."
"Wow, that's fantastic," Olivia suddenly remembered something. "Hey, I told my dad about you yesterday, and he said there's a job opening for a makeup artist. The pay is good. Are you interested?" Emily instantly became interested. "Of course! What exactly is the job?"
Olivia explained, "It's for a car show in a couple of days. There will be many car models coming, and you'll need to do their makeup and hair. It pays ten thousand a day. Do you think that's too little?" Ten thousand a day!
Ten thousand would cover her dad's hospital bills for two or three days. How could that be too little?
Emily was ecstatic. "Olivia, thank you!"
Olivia was also happy. "Great, then get ready. We'll meet at the car show early Sunday morning."
The car finally stopped at a seafood restaurant.
Olivia had just received her pocket money, and her eyes didn't blink as she ordered the most expensive dishes. Emily advised her, "We won't be able to finish all this. Let's order less and not waste it."
But Olivia replied, "If we can't finish it, we'll just take it home."
Emily nodded.
After finishing their meal, Olivia went to the restroom.
Emily asked the waiter for several takeaway boxes and waited for her while packing up the remaining seafood.
Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice in her ear. "Emily, what are you doing here?"
Emily didn't stop her hands and didn't turn her head. "This restaurant isn't owned by the Reed family, is it? Can't I come here?"
Nathan was taken aback by her retort and frowned without saying anything.
His gaze fell on Emily-
After not seeing her for a few days, she had completely changed. Not only was her figure sexy, but her temperament was also very attractive...
Nathan couldn't help but swallow.
How come he hadn't noticed before that Emily was so beautiful?
In his impression, Emily was always a sloppy woman who didn't know how to dress up, unlike Sophia, who wore luxury brand dresses every day and had exquisite makeup.
But yesterday, Sophia's makeup disaster made him feel disgusted.
It turned out that under her heavy makeup, her skin was unsightly. Without makeup, she looked like a different person. Before and after makeup, they were like two different people.
Looking at Emily now, she clearly hadn't put on any makeup, yet she exuded a noble aura...
"Emily, if you need money, you can tell me. We're husband and wife, and I'll help you as much as I can."
Emily had already packed up the boxes and ignored him with her head down. "No need. We've signed the divorce agreement, we're no longer related."
Nathan was somewhat stunned. "Divorce agreement? Why don't I know about it?"
"Why are you pretending? Didn't you have Sophia bring it to me to sign?" Emily sneered, "I saw your wedding invitation, but sorry, I can't say any blessings."
Nathan became a bit anxious and grabbed her hand. "I didn't ask Sophia to bring you any divorce agreement, and I didn't prepare any wedding invitations. Emily, we haven't divorced at all, you're still my wife." "Let go!"
"I won't!" Nathan pulled her into his arms. "Emily, I've changed my mind. I'm not divorcing you. Was it that guy who brought you here to eat seafood today? Break up with him now, and we'll still be legally married."
