Chapter 9
(Victor’s POV)
3 weeks had passed since that incident. The tube had seen with the mysterious liquid was nothing but the virus we were so eagerly try to get our hands on. Very soon the antidote was discovered and it was been provided to every werewolf in our kingdom. Everything was going pretty normal just the way it was going. We were still in this town, where our stay had been furthered in the name of needed rest. We all were taking care of the works from staying the town. It was almost night. The time to depart with our everyday works. Keeping our works in the hidden cabinets we departed. Why hidden cabinets? Simple answer we didn’t believed those filthy humans.
A very thorough research was been made in order to discover the antidote. After many trials, it had been found. As soon as the antidote was discovered, the very first dosage was provided to our Luna and the other dosages were simultaneously spreaded throughout the kingdom . The virus had cured the werewolves but not her. She was still in a state of unconsciousness. Her normal skin colour was fading to a paler one. Her friend’s were protesting to see her. A new request was sent by them everybody just to see her, but they were restricted on Daniel’s orders.
Leaving the room everyone went on their own ways. I and Daniel stalked towards his room. I followed him with the intention of seeing her up atleast once. Waiting just to see the once lively colour on her face. You must be thinking, how I could be so worried about a human. Making some investigation, I soon had discovered that she was the very reason why we were able to discover the antidote. She was the provider of the virus. I was definitely excited to meet the girl who didn’t thought twice to against her own race, just to help our race. Reaching his room, we were met by the medic at the door. There was a glimpse of hope in Daniel’s face maintaining a stoic expression.
The medic shakes his head in denial. The glimpse of hope was replaced by disappointment and soon it vanishes as it had never occurred. The door to the room where she was been kept opens. Before I could enter in he orders me to leave. Telling everyone to leave he enters in the room.
(Author’s POV)
Daniel enters in the room. A very different kind of emotion which could never be detected by anyone, not even by his own people, present on his face. He keeps moving towards the bed, towards the petite body laying under the mattress.
There she was, the girl who was his mate, almost on the verge of death. Her usual colour which he had observed from very near, the very time they met, had been lost to a paler one. Each day passed making her paler than before. It seemed like her soul was slipping out of her body. Even the flesh on her body had subsided and her bones were visible.
He reaches near her bed and sits at the corner of it. She was there just because of him. She had sacrificed her life for him even though he had almost rejected her. Her actions were outshining her beauty. He had seen the disappointment in her eyes just when he was about to reject her, but also the happiness when she was successful in saving him.
This was the only way he could repay her not only for saving his life, but also to make his heart beat for a millisecond in these 24 years just by hanging on the rail, making him worry about her safety, making him accept an emotion for the first time after all these years. But he was never going to give in. This was his way to repay her back in order to save him and his people.
He took a knife and made a scratch across his palm. Reaching it near her mouth, ignoring the flowing sparks, when his hand bymistakenly touched the skin near her lips, he made her drink it. After making sure, she had enough quantity to heal, he silently left the room.
