Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Brian had just stepped onto the stairs when his phone rang.

“Hello,” Brian said when he picked up the call.

The person on the other end asked, “Hello, are you the one who wants to spend 20 million dollars for a sperm donor?”

A dark shadow came over Brian’s features. “What do you mean by that?”

“You ran an advertisement about it.”

“No, I didn’t.” Brian hung up, his expression cold. He had already been in a bad mood, and now he had to contend with people talking nonsense? He was extremely irritated.

After less than a second, his phone rang again. Someone else was calling to ask about his interest in a sperm donor.

Brian was quick–witted, and he immediately realized what was going on. He sent someone to verify his. suspicions, and as he had expected, Stella was the culprit.

She was the one who had run the advertisement to mess with him.

Brian did not get angry when he heard about it.

After all, she had to be doing it to get his attention,

Was that the kind of thing that someone who wanted to leave him would do?

He smirked as he called Stella, acting as if he was about to interrogate her sternly.

However, she had blocked his number,*

Brian’s expression became as cold as ice.

Damn that woman! How could she block him?

Stella spent the night at her studio.

She took her medicine before sprawling on the couch. She had an unusually good sleep.

When she woke up the next day, her stomach felt fully recovered. She had even gotten an invitation to collaborate with Nas Group.

“Really? Your CEO likes my designs?” Stella was delighted

Nas was a luxury brand that was internationally renowned. They put out a recruitment notice for new

brands some time ago, and Yelena had submitted an application. They had assumed that there was no hope, but opportunity had come calling out of the blue.

However, there was a problem.

Her design drafts were at home, and she hadn’t taken them with her when she left.

After hesitating for a few seconds, she decided to go back and get her design drafts. They belonged to her, and she had the right to retrieve them.

She called a cab and headed back to the villa at Yolvencrest Estate.

When she reached the place, the clock had just struck ten. At this hour, Brian would already be at the office, so Stella was very relaxed. She was sure that she would not run into him.

“Mrs. Foley!” Yvonne greeted her the moment she entered the house.

Stella jumped in fright. She put a finger against her lips to shush her. “Yvonne, don’t tell him that I came back today.”

She tiptoed up the stairs.

Yvonne was confused. Why was Stella acting like a thief in her own home?

Besides, Brian was at home. He was swimming in the rooftop pool.

Stella slipped into the master bedroom, and as she had expected, it was empty.

She breathed a sigh of relief and hastily dug out her design drafts. Then she went to the closet to pick out an outfit that was suitable to wear out.

After all, she would have to look the part if she wanted to collaborate with Nas Group.

Brian finished his swim and returned to the bedroom. He was about to take a shower when he heard at rustling in the closet.

He walked over and pushed the door open noiselessly

There was a woman getting dressed inside. She took off the dress she was wearing, and her long hair

cascaded over her shoulders.

What was she doing back here?

Brian lowered his eyes as he thought for a moment. Had she decided that she couldn’t bear to get

divorced?  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

His mood lifted at the thought, and he walked in with a stern expression on his face. “What are

back here?”

Stella was just slipping into a dress when she heard his voice. She jumped in fright, and she was so flustered that she could not put on the dress properly. She began whimpering in frustration. “Mmph…”

Brian frowned. He walked over to her and put his arms around her so that he could pull the dress down

over her head. “Your stupidity will be the death of you.

Stella could not think of a retort.

Now that she was dressed properly, she could finally see clearly, and she realized that she was in his

arms.

She looked up into his handsome, expressionless face

Stella was surprised. “Why are you at home?”

“This is my house. I can be here if I want to.” Brian sounded irritated.

Stella glared at him.

When she remembered the current state of their relationship, she pushed him roughly away.

Brian was pushed backward, and he looked at her coldly. His voice was icy as he said, “What is up with you?”

“We’re getting divorced,” she said in a low voice.

Brian laughed coldly. “You don’t seem like you want a divorce. You made such a fuss about moving out yesterday, yet here you are today. Is this how someone who wants a divorce would act?”

Stella could not be bothered to argue with him. The more she argued, the more animated he would become.

She pulled her dress straight and went out.

“Stella!” Brian’s gaze grew sharp, and he strode after her and grabbed her hand. “You’re making such a fuss because you want my attention, aren’t you? Tell me, what do you want? Did your Uncle Chris tell you to get money or a project from me?”

Stella looked up at him.

Chris was always trying to ingratiate himself with Brian, which was why Brian felt like everyone in the Yates family was just trying to squeeze all his money out of him.

“No. I don’t want anything from you. I’m the one who wants a divorce, and just so that you don’t misunderstand me, I’ll say it again. I have decided to divorce you, and I’m serious. Tonight, I might come back one more time, and I’ll move all my belongings out. Make sure you’re not at home. From now on, let’s avoid seeing each other.” Her tone was cold and impassive.

Brian’s expression was dark and sinister.

She bowed. “Brian, thank you for taking care of me for the past two years. Goodbye.”

She picked up her design drafts and headed out without a second glance.

Brian watched her figure retreat into the distance.

She was carrying her design drafts, and she was dressed so beautifully. Where was she going?

As he thought about it, Mike knocked and came in. “Mr Foley, we should head to Nas Group now. They’re having their new product exhibition today.”

“Okay,” Brian assented. He changed into a suit and walked out of the front door.

The moment Stella left the house, she hailed a cab to go to Nas Group.

She had to hurry as she was about to be late.

She ran forward in her high heels, but a gust of strong wind suddenly swept past and sent her design drafts flying. They fell forlornly at the entrance to the NAS building.

Stella looked anxious as she bent over to pick them up)

A Bentley stopped in front of her, and then a pair of black leather shoes stepped out and trod right on her design drafts.

Stella was startled, and she bent over to pick them up.

The man bent down first, picked them up, and handed them to her.

“Are they yours?” The man’s voice was clear and warm

She looked up.

He looked as if he was around 27 or 28 years old, and he wore a nai

of wire–rimmed glasses.

He was dressed in a dapper suit and had intelligent features. He was attractive and seemed mature

Stella was momentarily stunned. She reached out to take them. “Thank you.”

“Hold on to them. The wind is pretty strong here.” The man walked purposefully into the Nas Group building.

“Mr. Perkins.” The moment Yoel Perkins entered the building, a female secretary came up to greet him.

Yoel nodded slightly and entered the elevator to head to the president’s secretariat. “I heard that Stella from Starlight Couture is coming today?”

“Yes.” The secretary nodded.

There was a slight flash in Yoel’s eyes. “Tell her to go to my office. I’ll meet her personally.”

“Yes, Mr. Perkins.” The secretary did not dare to ask more. The moment they reached the top floor, she retreated.

Stella received a message right after that.

The president of Nas Group wanted to meet her personally.

The secretary came to greet her, and she looked very respectful. “Ms. Yates, Mr. Perkins admires your work very much and would like to meet you personally. Please come to the president’s office with me.”

Stella looked at her blankly.

Was she really that good? Had she managed to attract the president’s attention with just a few design drafts? Had it touched his soul?
