Carrie turned to look at Yoel, who was already showing concern for Stella. “Stella, come over here. Don’t
get too close to her.”
Stella was not very afraid of Carrie. She lifted her chin and looked at Carrie coldly. “Carrie, if you dare lay
a hand on me here, I’ll call the police and report you for assault.”
Carrie’s anger surged as she glared at them. “Yoel, how can you treat me like this? This morning, my mom said the Foley family is interested in an alliance with the Perkins family. They want us to set a date for our
engagement!”
Yoel’s handsome face turned cold. “I didn’t agree to that.”
“Do you have a choice? Your family has a reputation to uphold. Do you think they would allow you to marry Stella? She has a husband already!”
Carrie pointed at Stella arrogantly. “Stella. Yoel is not someone you should mess with, so it’s best to keep your distance. Our families are about to be united in marriage. After that. Yoel will be my fiance. Don’t get
too close to him or I’ll have to hurt you, you slut.”
Stella found it all very odd. There was nothing between her and Yoel, but Carrie’s imagination came up
with such ridiculous assumptions.
As Stella was about to speak, Brian’s voice came from the doorway. “Aren’t you coming out?”
Stella turned in confusion, Brian stood outside. His gaze was so cold it seemed to pierce right through
her.
“You’re ruining an engaged couple’s relationship. Isnt that shameful enough for you?” His insulting words
were directed at Stella.
Carrie was delighted to hear this. She had grown to hate Brian, but now he was arranging an engagement.

“Yoel will be hospitalized for a few days, and I’ll take care of him myself. As for you, I forbid you from visiting my fiance! With that, she arrogantly slammed the door shut.
Stella stood outside, frowning.
Brian looked at her with a hint of schadenfreude in his eyes. “Are you happy now? I told you not to come. but you didn’t listen. Now you’ve been scolded by his fiancée. Are you pleased?”
Stella shot him a fierce glare before turning to leave.
Brian smirked in satisfaction. Arranging Yoel and Carrie’s engagement was a good move. It eliminated a
romantic rival, putting him in an excellent mood.
In the hospital room, Carrie was very attentive toward Yoel.
Yoel frowned slightly. “Carrie, you don’t need to stay and take care of me. I do not agree with this marriage alliance.”
“But my family has already contacted the Perkins family.”
“I will not allow this matter to proceed,” Yoel replied with a blank expression.
Carrie could not accept it. Frowning, she asked, “Is it because of Stella? Yoel, have you fallen in love with
her?”
From the beginning, Yoel had been kind to Stella and even helped her with her career. This drove Carrie mad with jealousy.
She had never liked anyone this much before. This was the first time, and now there was a chance for marriage. How could she let go of such a good opportunity?
“I will not marry you, period!” Yoel stated icily.
“Yoel, you can’t do this to me!” Carrie grabbed his hand, racking her brain to persuade him. “A marriage. alliance between our two families would be good. We already have business dealings. This would only
strengthen our ties…”
“I will not marry you.” Yoel firmly rejected her again.
Edgar’s selfish scheming and Harry’s cunning deceit would drive them to try their best to make this
happen.
If he married Carrie, who had no real power, he would lose his chance to compete against Harry. So Harry
would certainly push for this.
