Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Stella suddenly remembered what a friend of Brian’s had once said.

The friend had said, “There’s a woman who has a place in Brian’s heart. They met in Mavonia, and he hasn’t forgotten about her ever since. She resembles you.”

Stella had been annoyed at the time. After all, the woman was in Brian’s past. How could she be compared to Stella?

But today, she felt as if she had been rudely awakened from a dream.

When she saw how gentle Brian was to the woman, she felt as if she had been stabbed in the heart. It hurt so much that her entire body felt as if it were convulsing.

It was noisy, and Brian was about to shield the woman as they left. Suddenly, he saw Stella standing nearby with Yvonne behind her.

Brian frowned slightly.

The woman asked him gently, ‘Brian, do you know them?”

Stella

“Yes. That’s my wife, Stella, Brian introduced Stella to her impassively. “Jessica, get in the car. I’ll head. over in a while.”

“Alright.” Jessica Xenos nodded meekly. Before she left, her gaze fell on Stella’s face.

The two of them locked eyes.

Jessica looked Stella up and down and then smiled slightly.

Stella felt her heart twist painfully, and a bitterness seemed to fill her.

Brian walked over to her. He blocked out the overhead lights as he loomed over her. “What are you doing. here?”

Yvonne was about to speak when Stella asked, “Who is she?”

Why had Brian come to the hospital with that woman for her prenatal checkups? Was the baby in that woman’s belly Brian’s child?

Stella did not dare to keep thinking about it. Her mind and heart were in turmoil.

“It has nothing to do with you. Don’t ask.” Brian avoided her question.

Stella’s eyes reddened. “You’re cheating on me, but you won’t even let me ask about it?”

“Cheating? Do you have any right to say something like that?” There was a dark veil over Brian’s eyes. Have you forgotten how we got married? Besides, I told you when we got married that I would never love

you.”

Stella’s face was as white as a sheet. She clenched her fists tightly to remain calm. “Am I just a sex

partner to you?”

“Pretty much.”

Stella laughed self–deprecatingly. “I see. You believe that my father has tricked you, so you’re just here to enjoy the sex. Is that it?”

“Stop talking.” Brian looked daggers at her as he warned her not to say anything else.

Stella’s heart felt as cold as ice, and she could not stop herself from speaking. She asked, “Now that the woman you love is back, what do you plan to do with me?

Brian pressed his lips together.

His silence disappointed her.

Stella felt her stomach hurting again. Even the painkillers were no longer effective, and the pain began intensifying. Finally, she fainted,

When she woke up, the sky was already bright.

The smell of antiseptic filled her nose.

Stella opened her eyes and frowned. She saw Brian walk out, but she realized that there was an infusion needle stuck in the back of her hand.

“Bri!” Stella called out, almost falling off the bed.

Yvonne caught her. “Mrs. Foley, be careful”

“Where’s Brian going?”

“That woman just called, so he’s going to see her.”

Stella shuddered.

“Don’t be too sad, Mrs. Foley. Your health is more important.” Yvonne looked sorry for her.

She continued, “You just had an ultrasound done yesterday. You have acute gastritis from food poisoning. and you had to get three drips. You’re very weak right now.”

The bitterness in Stella’s heart was hard to endure.

She was in hospital with acute gastritis, but Brian had left just because Jessica had called him.

She clearly wasn’t as important as Jessica.

“Mrs. Foley, please eat something.” Yvonne brought her some soup.

Stella shook her head. “Leave it there, Yvonne. I don’t feel like eating yet.”

The phone on her bedside table rang.

Stella picked it up and said weakly, “Hello?”

‘Stellie, did you know that your husband is cheating on you?” It was Yelena Shaw, Stella’s best friend.

“I saw the news this morning. He’s got something going on with a pianist called Jessica, and it seems. that she’s pregnant. They went to the hospital together, and it came out on the news. Hurry, you should go

and check it out!”

Stella’s heart twisted as she looked at her phone.

Her Twitter feed was filled with photos of Brian at the hospital with Jessica last night.

Brian was the CEO of Foley Group, and he had countless properties under his name. He ranked first amongst the wealthy, eligible bachelors in the city, which was why his personal life attracted great.

attention,

As the photos depicted him going for a prenatal checkup with a woman, it began trending at once.

Jessica’s personal information had also been revealed. She was a renowned planist from Mavonia, and  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

she had grown up with Brian. They were very close.

She had gone abroad to study, and it was said that Brian had waited for her to return for ten years. Now that Jessica was back in the country, Brian had finally gotten back together with his first love,

The netizens were entranced by their romance. They were touched by the beauty of their love story,

In just one morning, Jessica’s Instagram account had gained three million fans.

Stella stared at the word “Mavonia“.

Brian’s friend had told her the same thing before. Jessica was the first love that Brian could not forget.

Stella laughed self–deprecatingly.

Stellie, have you seen it? Everyone online’s talking nonsense. You know how hot–tempered I am. I can’t just let this slide! I’m going to go and tell them off right now!” Yelena said through gritted teeth.

Stella stopped her. “Don’t. I already know about this.”

“You knew?”

“Yes.”

Yelena raised her voice. “What’s going on? How can you just stand by and watch him fool around with other women? Shouldn’t you go and teach that slut a lesson?”

Stella sighed. “Didn’t you see what they’re saying online? She’s Bri’s first love, and he’s been waiting for

her for ten years.

“Who cares if she’s his first love? I don’t care if she’s a piece of shit! She shouldn’t be a homewrecker, no

matter what!”

“Forget it.” Stella was exhausted. “My marriage with Brian has always been one–sided on my part. I’m tired.

Her upbringing would not allow her to go and beat up a homewrecker.

If it became a big issue, the whole city would know how rotten her marriage was. After all, they were at

married couple, and she did not want things to look bad.

Yelena was silent for a moment. “What do you plan to do in the future? Are you going to stay with him or get divorced?”

‘I’ll divorce him.”

Stella looked at the needle stuck in her wrist. She was sick, but he had gone to keep Jessica company. She had decided to give up. “Since his heart isn’t in it, I won’t force anything.”

‘I support you, Stellie. You’re really pretty, and there are plenty of men who like you. Why do you need to fixate on a scumbag like him?”

“Thank you for comforting me.” She felt lucky to have Yelena with her at such a dark point in her life.

After ending the call, Stella rested for a while.

After the drip finished, she felt better. Her stomach no longer hurt, and she only felt a little weak.

Yvonne and the driver brought her home, and Stella went to sleep again.

Brian returned that night. As he took off his jacket, he asked Yvonne, “Where’s Mrs. Foley?”

“Sleeping upstairs.” Yvonne said pointedly, “Mrs. Foley didn’t see you when she woke up, so she was rather upset about it.”

Brian was silent for a moment. Then, he turned and went upstairs.

The door opened with a slight push.

Stella was curled up by the window like a cat. Her long, black hair hung to the floor, making her look even more slender and frail.

Why was she sleeping by the window when she had gastritis?
