Chapter 195
Chapter 195
At the hospital, Yoel had already gotten his wounds bandaged, Lying in bed with an IV drip, he was fast
asleep.
Despite undergoing various examinations and coughing up blood, no issues were found. The MRI report
wouldn’t be ready until the next day.
So, Stella kept watch over him at the hospital. Finally, she had a moment to check her phone.
Brian had called her several times, but she didn’t feel like calling back. So, she set her phone down.
She leaned on the bedside thinking of getting some sleep, when the door to the room opened. Brian walked in with Mike. He was wearing a long black coat, his expression noble and indifferent.
Upon seeing him, Stella, afraid he would wake Yoel, gestured for silence. She got up from the chair and
walked out.
Brian didn’t follow her. Instead, he stood at the doorway looking at Yoel Stella frowned and pulled him.
out
They stood in the hallway. Stella’s clothes were still unwashed but had dried a little. She appeared scruffy
with dried tear streaks on her face.
“Didn’t you go home tonight? How did you end up like this?” Brian glanced at her, intending to touch her
face. However, she turned away, avoiding him.
His hand hung awkwardly in the air, the atmosphere growing stiff. “Where did you go tonight?” he asked.
From her dirty state, it was clear she didn’t go home.
Stella whispered, “It’s none of your business. Go back.
I’m here to take you home.” Brian grabbed her hand, trying to lead her away
Stella pulled her hand free, resisting him now as she said coldly. “I’m not going back.”
“You’re not going back? A chill brewed in his eyes. “Do you mean to stay here with Yoel?”
“Yes,” Stella said firmly. Yoel was injured because of her, so she had to stay and take care of him.
Brian sneered. “Who are you to him? Why do you need to stay and take care of him? Don’t forget, you’re a
married woman. Where is my dignity if you stay here taking care of another man?”
“Now you care about dignity?” Stella found it amusing. Then what about you taking care of Jessica in the
hospital? You’re also a married man. Is it your place to take care of her?”
“Don’t forget, it was you who caused her fall,” Brian said.
Stella’s eyes widened in shock. So, he believed it. He believed she had pushed Jessica.
Seeing her face turn pale, Brian felt a twinge of regret. He was about to explain himself when Stella said. You go ahead and care for her. I don’t need you here.” Feeling quite pointless, Stella turned to leave.
Brian’s face darkened as he called out, “Mike.” He instructed Mike to investigate what Stella had been up
- to.
Back in Yoel’s room, Stella noticed his IV was almost empty and rang for the nurse.
The nurse quickly arrived. She passed a tall, intimidating figure with a gloomy expression in the hallway. She didn’t dare look and lowered her head as she passed by him into the room.
Mike soon returned with some information. “Mr. Foley, tonight Mrs. Foley and Mr. Perkins went to the
mountain at the back of Tarovian Terrace.”
“What were they doing there?”
Mike shook his head. “That part isn’t clear. We can only track Mrs. Foley’s phone. But judging by Mr. Perkins‘ condition, they seemed to have met with an accident.”
An accident? Brian frowned. Was Stella hurt?
He walked to the door of the ward and pushed it open. The nurse was busy inside while Stella was using a wet towel to wipe Yoel’s face.
He let out a mocking laugh. She was perfectly fine here taking care of Yoel. How could she be hurt?
Stella didn’t seem injured except for a bruise on her knee hidden under her skirt. After wiping Yoel’s face, she began cleaning his hands and feet. Suddenly, she felt a cold gaze on her.
She looked up and saw Brian standing expressionlessly at the door. His gaze was so cold it sent a shiver
down her spine.
Stella felt a bit scared but told herself to stay calm as she continued cleaning the dirt off Yoel.
The nurse had instructed her to clean the dirt to check for any other wounds. Stella followed her order; taking care of him wholeheartedly.
