Chapter 30: The Impossibility



The bullet came barreling towards me and Daniel at incredible speed, there was no avoiding it. I knew I’d failed even before I touched him. We both ended up sprawled on the floor of the back room. Daniel was on his side withering in pain. Gabriel appeared beside us. And that’s when time froze. I didn’t even want it to and it did. Why couldn’t I save him?

I went back to the moment I saw the person on the roof top and took Gabriel out of his frozen state and told him to use his telekinesis to stop the bullet. With him planted by the window it should have given me enough time to get Daniel out of the way before the sniper reloaded and shot again.

If this failed then Daniel would permanently be paralyzed. And I would have failed...
