Chapter 23: Goodbye Future World, Hello Past



I rose so I was standing in front of Gabriel. I reached down and touched his face. I kissed him gently and then let him go and stepped away.

“Nathan, what’s going on? Please tell me,” he pleaded.

“I love you, Gabriel. I’ll miss you, I hope we will find each other again,” I whisper.

“Nathan-!” he shouted but before he could say more I froze time.

I starred at his frozen form and felt tears fall down my face. It was what was best for the whole of humanity.

I pulled up a larger list of images that covered the time since the beginning of the apocalypse. I stared at the image of the day before the apocalypse occurred. When everyone was living their lives thinking tomorrow would be like any other day but they couldn’t have been more wrong. Over six billion people would die and the world would be forever changed.

I signed

“Goodbye,” I whispered and pushed on the image.

The world started to whirl by. I saw buildings return to their old states and I was transported to the front of my school. I watched as Melody appeared at my side and Gabriel about meter away. Quinn and Arran were exiting the school. I signed again and stared at the froze picture of the past. I nervously hit play. And life started up three years in the past...
