Cynthia asked these questions on behalf of Jonathan. She remembered the pain and despair in Jonathan's heart when he told her all this,
Cynthia could relate to it. How desperate must it feel to be betrayed by your family you once trusted and cherished? Even more so when Whitney wanted to kill him. That kind of mental torment was a thousand times worse for him than it was for her. Whitney's expression shifted slightly. "He told you all that?" Whitney let out a loud laugh and said, "It seems you're really special to him."
Cynthia had calmed down. Earlier, she had acted on impulse, but she had said before that she didn't want to get involved in these powerful family feuds.
Whitney's smile grew increasingly hysterical, as if her elegance was just a facade being torn away. "What do you know? You don't know anything. My biggest regret is that moment of kindness when he was ten."
"He's the devil's son, the embodiment of sin, with filthy blood running through his veins. His very existence is an eternal curse on our family. You wouldn't understand. Maybe only when he's gone, this world will be clean again," shouted Whitney. Cynthia looked at Whitney, feeling she was like a devil cloaked in glamorous human skin. Every word she spoke was chilling, sending shivers down the spine. Cynthia sensed there was more to this than just a family inheritance struggle, something deeper and darker. "Ms. Bennett, after all, he is your blood brother Cynthia tried appealing to her conscience through their family bond. But hearing the words "blood brother" only made Whitney more upset.
Her eyes were bloodshot, her face twisted into a snarl as she turned and grabbed Cynthia's neck. "I'm not related to him at all! He's not a child, he's a devil, and I would never acknowledge him even if I die."
Whitney's fingers slowly tightened. Cynthia found it a bit hard to breathe. Actually, fighting back and gaining the upper hand was easy for her.
But Cynthia had already checked out the theater; it was full of Whitney's people. There was even a sniper on the second floor, the dark barrel of the gun aimed right at her forehead. If she fought back, her head would explode on the spot. Eventually, Whitney came to her senses. She slowly let go of Cynthia, her emotions fading away like the tide retreating from the shore.
Whitney sat back down, fixing her makeup and hair. Meanwhile, Cynthia leaned on a seat to her left, coughing hard. Whitney finally regained her previous composure, seeing Cynthia struggling for breath and barely able to stand.
Then Whitney said, "Cynthia, being kind to others can be cruel to yourself. Do you really think your horse went wild. because of Abby? Of course not, it was Nina. You refuse to kill her, but she surely wouldn't hesitate to see you dead! Cynthia's coughing stopped suddenly. "Nina drugged it?"
Meanwhile, after lunch, Nina left the restaurant and returned to her room. But soon after, there was a knock at the door.
Nina went to open the door and saw Jonathan standing there.
Nina's eyebrows showed a flicker of surprise. "Mr. Bennett?" Jonathan's expression was solemn. "Nina, I need to talk to you." Nina quickly opened the door and said, "Come in, Mr. Bennett.

Secing Jonathan's rare serious expression, Nina tried to comfort him. "Mr. Bennett, are you worried that Whitney might try something? I think we don't need to worry too much right now. We're filming a live show, and she wouldn't be silly enough to reveal her wrongdoings to the media"
Honestly, when Nina first saw Whitney, she was really scared. But now she felt differently. First, Jonathan was by her side and he still cared about her. Second, she thought that since this was a live show, Whitney would think twice before doing anything risky. But Jonathan's face didn't relax at all. Instead, he looked even more serious.
Nina sensed something was wrong. She cautiously asked, "Mr. Bennett, did you come to see me for another reason?" Jonathan got straight to the point. "Why are you doing things that hurt both yourself and others?"
Nina's expression suddenly froze. Then she pretended not to understand and said, "Mr. Bennett, what are you talking about?"
"Nina. I'm giving you another chance. If you're not going to be honest with me, then let's pretend I never said anything. But don't regret it later!" said Jonathan.
Jonathan's gaze was fixed on Nina, sharp as a dagger, chillingly cold. It was the first time Nina had seen Jonathan with such an expression. Her heart was pounding like a drum, feeling exposed like a secret revealed. She was internally chaotic but didn't know how to speak up, standing there like a deer in headlights.
Jonathan didn't say a word and turned to leave.
Just as Jonathan was about to reach the door, Nina suddenly dashed forward and hugged jonathan's waist from behind. "Mr. Bennett, I was wrong, I really was. Please forgive me, just this once."
Jonathan mercilessly pushed her away. "Tell me, what really happened?"
"In the morning, when the butler was showing me around the stables, he gave me a small jar of crystal candies. He said the horses would become more excited after eating these, and if there was someone I disliked, I could give this to their horse." Jonathan's voice was cold and disappointed as he looked at Nina "So you gave this to Cynthia's horse? Were you trying to harm her?"
Nina replied, "No, Mr. Bennett, that's not it. I never intended to harm her. I was just... so confused. I didn't know if you cared more for me or her, so I tried this way to find out."
Nina looked up at Jonathan. "Mr. Bennett, I didn't just feed her horse the crystal candy; I gave it to mine too. If I really intended to harm her, I wouldn't have given my own horse the sune treat."
"I thought it would only make them a little bit hyper, not go crazy. I feel like I was set up, like it was Whitney's trap Ninm said all that, but Jonathan didn't seem moved at all.
Nina tugged at Jonathan's sleeve.
