One of a Kind Dragon

Chapter 5 |Mother|

Willow whipped around, and a dragon about as old as Willow was stood at the doorway, she had orange eyes, white and gold scales, black claws, a sharp-pointed tail, and was three times bigger than Willow, but Willow wasn’t scared of this new dragon, she was bound to be a weakling.

She had a silver crown with sapphires, Willow remembered where the crown came from

“The silver crown with sapphires is a crown that was gifted to the Auroratails from the Oceanustails after the Auroratails joined the alliance,” Darius had told her “the crown is given to the future queen unless the original princess has been stolen or killed then the crown loses the power of wisdom it gives the princess” it was exactly like the one in her dream.

"My twin sister," Willow thought

“Looks like you don’t remember-”

Willow cut her off “Ha! How could I ever forget you, Sister.”

“Guess you do remember me, don’t you?”

“Yes I do, and tell me where I am and I won’t break your neck.” Willow snarled her eyes glowing with hatred.

“Whoa so now you’re gonna throw threats at me! Well, how about we fight? If you win I tell you where you are and where mother is and if I win I get to kill you and your friends, deal?” She asked, holding out her claws.

“One more thing, My friends and I get to go free and get medical treatment for their wounds,” Willow added

“Fine,”

“Deal?”

“Deal.”

They started to pace around the room.

Malum charged first, she was not trained in a forest for 9 years or born a killer because the charge was not in control at all, and Willow easily step-sided. Malum ended up slamming her head on the wall. Malum charged again, still dizzy but with somehow more control.

Willow jumped up, twisted around, and shoved her foot into Malum’s back with so much power that Malum slammed into the wall horns first with a crack. Malum cried out in pain clutching her broken horn

Willow immediately stepped back as Malum lashed out her tail. Willow lunged forward and grabbed Malum’s neck and pinned it to the ground.

Malum started to cough and lash out clawing at anything she could get at, and unfortunately, her claws caught Willow’s underbelly, Willow’s blood splattering over Malum’s claws, Willow crouched down from the pain that was already in her chest.

Immediately Malum went limp. Willow slowly got off and she could see Malum was planning something.

She immediately jumped back on her just as she started to rise, and she slammed Malum’s head into the concrete floor. “I give up!” Malum groaned, blood pouring from the side of her head. She slowly got off.

She heard a groan from behind her and remembered Darius. She immediately rushed to his side.

He had a huge gash on the side of his face that looked like it came from a dragon claw and it was pouring dark red blood, his face was visibly pale.

She realized he was probably bleeding when Rollan found him, he just hid it from view. But Rebecca was with him, right?

"Wait, no she wasn’t!" She realised. A small smile appeared on his face as he mumbled

“I didn’t want you to worry. You always worry too much Willow.”

“Darius! It is even worse than before!” She cried her eyes turning baby blue. She sat up and took out some medical supplies from one of her many leather pouches and started tending to his wounds when she heard Malum behind her.

Malum took a step closer and that was the worst decision she ever made.

Willow snapped her tail up smacking Malum’s snout. She whipped around and slammed her foot into Malum’s ribs. Malum crumpled on contact with her back foot.

Willow bent down and raised her sister’s head to her eye level and whispered “Well that was not a very smart decision. Maybe you need to learn to play nice.”

Willow heard clapping behind her and a voice said “Well that was extremely violent but amazing at the same time! That was queen-worthy fighting!”

She was just about to retort when she looked up to see her mother standing before her with her arms extended and Rollan standing at her side.

A few guards had snuck past Willow and grabbed unconscious Darius. Rollan still had all of his wounds from before.

Her mother’s smile was unchanged from when she first saw her smile 9 years ago. “Mother,” Willow asked, “Is that you?”

Willow ran up and collapsed against her mother. Her tears ran down her snout. She could feel her mother’s chest rise and fall with each breath, her mother’s head resting on her own.

Her claws wrapped tightly around her waist, her head buried in her mother’s shoulder, her mothers’ wings tented around them, pulling her closer.

“Mother,” Willow whispered, “Where have you been?”

“Why my baby... I have been looking for you. Why do you think I am here now?” She answered softly.
