Chapter 91 - Arrogant
Turning to Jiang Hao, he asked, “Brother Hao, what flavor do you want? It's on me!”
Jiang Hao was about to express his gratitude to Little Fat when, suddenly, five tall, sweaty men in t-shirts barrelled over from the side.
They looked like they'd just come off the basketball court!
Without a glance at the long line, they bulldozed their way to the front, shoving Little Fat aside.
“Boss, we'll take five sodas and a pack of Red River!”
Before Little Fat could even grab his popsicle and soda, he was cut off, his frustration boiling over.
“Hey, what's the deal? Haven't you got any decency!?”
The others waiting in line were equally irate, voicing their discontent.
“How can you just skip the line? Can't you see we're all waiting our turn!?”
“Seriously, we're in high school. Have some respect!”
“No manners! It's embarrassing!”
......
The crowd was openly annoyed with the five men for queue jumping.
Then, the tall man who had pushed his way to the front turned around, looking down at Little Fat with a sneer.
“What's the matter, kid? Got a problem with it?”
“I don't do lines. What are you gonna do about it?”
His buddies closed in, encircling Little Fat with menacing stares.
Trapped by the five towering figures, Little Fat's fear was palpable. contemporary romance
Seeing this, everyone else clammed up, adopting an ‘it's not my problem' attitude, some even casting their eyes downward to avoid any trouble.
At that moment, the snack shop owner quickly stepped in to defuse the situation.
“Here's your soda, guys. Let's keep it cool, no need for tempers.”
With that, the group turned and took the sodas from the owner.
Jiang Hao, though equally upset, remembered they were at school and didn't want to stir the pot.
He tugged Little Fat back, opting to rise above the fray.
Little Fat watched the five with a sidelong glance, his mood sour as he grumbled under his breath.
“They really have no class!”
Yet, despite the murmur being barely audible, it was picked up by the five individuals standing nearby, about to enjoy their popsicles.
They immediately paused their unwrapping and turned their gazes in his direction.
Little Fat quickly feigned ignorance, staring down at the ground.
At that moment, Jiang Hao caught sight of the situation and sensed trouble brewing.
Sure enough, the group of five closed in, with the ringleader shoving Little Fat, who was still pretending to be oblivious.
Little Fat stumbled from the push and bumped into Jiang Hao.
Jiang Hao steadied him.
“What did you say, kid?”
Intimidated by the quintet, Little Fat was petrified. Jiang Hao realized he had to intervene.
After all, Little Fat had just offered him a popsicle. Even though he hadn't gotten to enjoy it yet, he owed him for the gesture.
Jiang Hao pulled Little Fat behind him and faced the troublemakers head-on, unflinching, and fired back.
“He called you a bunch of trash with no manners. Got a problem with that?”
As Jiang Hao's words hung in the air, one of the five bristled with rage, ready to throw a punch, but another quickly grabbed him.
He subtly gestured towards the surveillance camera above the convenience store.
The hothead caught on immediately.
One of them, infuriated yet smirking, retorted,
“Well, well, the kid's got some nerve!”
