Chapter Blast From The Past
Sabrina’s POV
The job of being a goddess has its perks.
The gifts I possess allow me to overpower anyone and win many battles. It has also afforded me hindsight, a little trip down minds of everyone around me and even if that little dip in to the mind pool can be draining, I know just what to expect with the people around me. Josey tried to deceive me. It was obviously not malicious, just trying to save the man I afforded the opportunity to live again even after the many years he has been on this earth because I believe, my sister deserves all the happiness but boy is this man making her work for it. Upon arrival, I could sense Cayden's presence and in no way was he a prisoner. He was not held captive and instead, was enjoying himself with a glass of warm amber liquid... bottle nearby. The men surrounding him where in no way hostile towards him, they were actually sitting around him trying to mask their fear but he can sense it. He feeds off of it even, enjoying himself as he basks in the pool of their feelings.
If anything, this was their doing and I still can't get in to his head deep enough to understand his end goal but somehow, I believe he used Josey to get to me. He may love her, that much I know but he is an evil bastard who knows only to cause harm... as long as that harm does not fall on his beloved, I am just another one of his targets.
"Stay there!" A voice shouts at us as we approach their temporary dwellings. We stop, looking straight at a rather chubby old man, aiming some gun at us.
"That is the weapon they used on me, to hurt me but it just hurt my vampire so I was able to get away.” Josey tells me.
"I bet you are grateful to have godlike abilities now." I say to a seemingly nervous little sister.
I will avoid to look in her mind for now but the time will come where she must pay for endangering me like this, my strength is completely beside the point.
"I have always been grateful. I just appreciate it a little more now." She says to but we remain quiet as soon as a tall man with insane muscles walks up to us, without that special weapon.
"Follow me... no funny business.” He says and we follow him inside, where a hundred men stood, waiting on us. Cayden, now chained up and looking to be out of it. What a faker!
"Welcome!" The tall man says to us, still giving us his back. I hear gunshots going off and they pierce through my skin, a stinging pain follows as Josey screams, the guns all aimed at me.
Under normal circumstances, the bullets can pierce through but they are usually human made for humans so we usually heal within seconds but these bullets, they were laced with something... something very potent to the werewolves and the fact that Josey was unharmed confirmed what I knew to be true earlier. Cayden looks up, our eyes lock for just a second and he smiles at me, showing me his lovely fangs before someone removes the chains that were on him and he walks up to us.
Athena takes over my body and has me fall to the ground before I can even protest.
'I think it would work well for us if we pretend to be weak.’ She says to me and I let her have this one. I am the moon goddess; we don't do weak but I don't want to hear her go off in my head telling me she told me 50. Being wrong is something I really don't want; it could be put on record and we don't want that.
"I told you the gun would work.” The short man says to the tall muscle man. I close my eyes, trying to get the feel of everyone here... including Cayden.
"Now bring the bitch to me. Let me get a good look at her." A familiar female voice says and they pick me up, carry me a few steps before throwing me harshly on the ground. I try not to wince but reflexes, what can a girl do?
I am quickly pulled by my hair and I open my eyes to come face to face with Eleanor, Aiden's mother!
She smiles at me, standing up to show off her prize.
"This woman right here has humiliated me, killed my mate and my youngest son. She banished me from my home and now, now I get to torture her for all eternity.” Eleanor says as the crowd erupts.
I was now facing the crowd, with Aiden's mom behind me and I could see Josey looking on in shock. She had tears in her eyes, a gun to her head. Cayden was in the opposite side now, looking at his beloved in complete horror. Something tells me this was not part of his plan...
At first, I could not even sense Eleanor, not one bit but then again, she is from my realm so she knows I would have not entered had I known she was here. Secondly, if it is Eleanor the one that runs this ship then we are truly in for it. She knows the strength I possess and if this gun is meant to do something, it will soon... I am just hoping her newfound weakness can't really tell just how far my power goes but for now, I am scared shitless for what is to come...
