Chapter 123
Chapter 123: Treachery and Allies
As the first light of lawn filters through the trees, casting a soft, golden glow over the fighting grounds, we start to walk away, intending to break our fast and join the pack for a meal. The air is crisp, filled with the scent of pine and earth, a gentle breene rustling through the leaves. Despite the tension and excitement of the morning’s events, I feel a sense of calm settling over me.
Laku leads the way, his shoulders squared with newfound confidence. Aleksandr falls into step beside me, his presence a steadying force. Bloodbane and Pyra trail behind us, their expressions unreadable.
hat as we reach the edge of the clearing a movement coches my eye. I turn in time to see Marko, his face twisted with rare and desperation, lunging at Luka with a dagger hidden in his sleeve. Time seems to slow as I cry out a warning, but Aleksandr is faster in a blur of motion, he moves between Marko and Luka, his hand shooting out to grasp Marko’s wrist.
With a sickening crack, Aleksandr maps Marko’s neck, the sound echoing through the clearing. Marko’s body crumples to the ground, lifeless, the digger falling from his grasp. The pack memben pap, shock and relief mingling on their faces.
Aleksandr turns to Luka, his expression grave. “Never let your guard down,” he says, his volor low and intense. “Not even for a moment.”
Luka nods, his face pale but resolute. “Thank you,” he says, his voice filled with gratitude and determination. “I won’t forget this”
With the immediate threat dealt with, we continue to the pack house, where a hearty breakfast awaits. The dining hall is warm and inviting, the central hearth crackling with a maring Bre that fills the air with the comforting scent of woodsmoke, Long wooden tables are laden with an may of foods, the rich smells making my mouth water.
We take our seats, the pack members gathering around us, their expressions a mix of curiosity and respect. The tables are piled high with platters of masted meats, fresh fruits, and fragrant breads Bowls of creamy porridge are sprinkled with nuts and dried berries, while pitchers of fresh milk and honey stand ready to be posted.
The aroma of freshly baked bread mingles with the savory scent of roasted meats, creating a tantalizing blend that makes my stomach growl in anticipation. The bread is still warm from the oven, its crint golden and crisp, the inside soft and fluffy. There are mis tapped with msemary and sea salt, their earthy fragrance Siling the air.
A large platter of roasted game birds, their skin crisp and golden, sits at the center of the table. The rich, savory scent of the meat mingles with the aroma of herbs and spices, making my mouth water. There are bowls of roasted vegetables, their colors vibrant and inviting, Carrots glazed with honey and thyme, potatoes roasted with garlic and rosemary, and green beans sautéed with almonds and butter.
The table is also laden with fresh fruits, their bright coloes a feast for the eyes. Plump, juicy strawberries, ripe peaches, and tart apples are arranged in bowls, their sweet fragrance Billing the air. There are also plates of cheeses, their creamy textures and rich flavors a perfect complement to the fresh bread and fruit.
As we begin to eat, the conversation flows easily, the tension of the morning’s events slowly fading away. The food is delicious, each bite a symphony of flavors and textures that make me feel truly alive. The roasted meat is tender and flavorful, the bread warm and comforting, the fruits and cheeses a delightful contrast of sweet
and savory
Across the table, I notice a handsome male werewolf, a warmor with dark hair and piercing green eyes, flirting with Pyr. He sits close to her, his body angled toward hers, his game intense and focused. “So, beautiful,” he says, his vale smooth and charming. “Tell me about yourself. Where do you come from?
Pyra smiles, a slight blush coloring her cheeks. T’m from the Fiery Realms,” she says, her voice soft and melodic. “I serve as a Fire Wraith priestess, dedicated to protecting and preserving the balance of the elements.”
The warrior’s eyes light up with interest. “A priestess, you say? That’s fascinating. I’ve never met a Fire Wraith maiden, let alone a pelestess.”
As their conversation continues, I notice Bloodbane’s bright red eyes namouring, a flash of jealony crossing his face. He leans forward, his voice low and edged with
hint of possessiveness. “Pyra is quite remarkable,” he says, his gaze fixed on the warrior. “Her dedication and strength are unmatched.”
The warrior glances at Bloodbane, a challenge in his eyes. “Indeed,” he says, his tone respectful but firm. “She’s certainly one of a kind.”
Pyra seems to sense the tension between them, her gaze flicking between the two men. She smiles gently, placing a reassuring hand on Bloodbane’s arm. “It alright,” she says softly. “We’re all friends here.”
Bloodbane relaxes slightly, though his gaze remains watchful. The warrior, sensing the unspoken bend between Pyra and Bloodbane, shifts his focus back to his meal, the conversation tuming to lighter topics.
As we continue to eat, I decide it’s time to share our plans with the pack. I clear my throat, drawing everyone’s attention. “We need your help.” I say, my voice steady but urgent. “We’ve discovered that the vampire high lady, Tatiana of the Fontaine clan, has found a way to travel to a secret, seventh Realm, a realm of nothingness, which we are calling The Nowhere realm. Tatiana and her followers played a role in imprisoning Verde. We need to restore balance and rescue her, but we can’t do it alone.”
The park members exchange glances, their expressions serious,

“why should we get involved?” A werewolf warrior asks, followed by others nodding in agreement. “This is a fight between vampire clans. We shouldn’t go sticking
noves into the business of bloodsucker.“
Aleksandr sneers at that, curling his lip, and the wolf who spoke thinks better of his words, perhaps after having seen how easily Aleksandr dispatched Marko just
minutes earlier.
The offence to our honoured guests, of course,” he says, which causes Aleksandr and Kieran to smirk.
Luka speaks up, his voice filled with conviction. “This isn’t a fight between only vampire clans,” he says. “The Fontaine clan’s actions have affected us all. The outcome of this battle will determine the futures of not just vampire kind, but our kind as well. Human kind, blood wraiths, fire wraiths, every being will be utterly destined unless we stand together and fight”
The pack members nod in agreement, their determination evident. Kosta steps forward, his gaze resolute. “We’ll follow you to the ends of the Earth, Luka. I’ll gather
the best warriors and we’ll prepare to fight.”
My heart pounds with a mix of anger and resolve. “We must act quickly.” I say. “We need to gather our forces and prepare for the journey to the Seventh Realm. The fate of all the realm depends on it.”
The park members rise from the table, their faces set with determination. “We’re with you.” Sara says, her voice strong. “We’ll do whatever it takes to restore balance and save Verde.”
As we prepare to leave, I feel a surge of hope and determination. With Luka as the Alpha and the pack’s support, we have a fighting chance. The journey ahead will be dangerous and uncertain, but together, we can fare whatever challenges lie ahead.
As the first rays of sunlight filter through the trees, casting a golden glow over the forest, I know that we are ready. The bonds of unity and loyalty are strong, and with our combined strength, we will overcome any obstacles and restore balance to the realms
