Omega Lost

Chapter 21

**Elena**

I can feel his eyes on me. My skin heats like I can sense him even when I'm not looking for him. It's such an odd feeling. A slight pain in my hand jolts me from my thoughts and forces me to look down at my lap. Eli is awake and trying to get my attention. I smile down at him and grab a piece of meat sitting on my bowl of rice and hold it out for him. He rests one of his paws on my arm and grabs the meat with a tug. I chuckle at how he chews on it with enthusiasm. He's going to be expensive to care for with the way he eats. Unless he isn't in wolf form. As much as I learned about life of an Omega there is still so much I don't know. Like how to pull him out of wolf form and how old he'll be. You know who would know?

I glance up at Aria who is eating with a weird look on her face. She's enjoying it that's for sure, but I have questions.

"A-aria?" I remember her name now thank goodness.

Her head snaps up to look at me. "Yeah?" She asks around a mouth full of food.

"You're a doctor, right? I mean you know about pup development and things like that right?" I ask her.

Okay maybe that is obvious but I want to be sure.

"Yeah, I do. I had to study all forms of medical skills since oftentimes I have to treat someone in their wolf form. Wolves don't have the same anatomy as humans so... Why?" "Eli...he hasn't shifted from this form yet. I'm not sure how to make him." I tell her.

Her mouth forms an 'o'. "Well, if he hasn't been around an...Alpha..." She glances at Sebastian before focusing on me again. "Only an Alpha can push someone out of wolf form." "So it doesn't have to be a parent?" I ask her.

"If they are born in human form and then shift yes because they trust and respect their fathers. But if the pup was born in wolf form it takes more force to get them to shift." She explains.

I look down at Eli chewing on some more meat that Sebastian must have passed him.

"Can you bring him out?" I ask Sebastian.

His eyes lift from Eli to focus on me and there is a small smile in the corner of his mouth. He smiles a lot and it's a smile that makes me feel a little weak in the knees. "Sure. Now?" He asks.

I consider that for a moment.

"He needs clothes right? How are we going to know what sizes he will need if he is in this form...right?" I ask.

He nods. "That's true. How about when we're done here we can grab a blanket or something and move to somewhere more private to bring him out."

I nod. "As soon as I'm able to find a job and everything I'll pay you back I promise." I quickly add.

I don't want him or Aria thinking of this as a handout. It might take time but I think I can pay him back eventually.

The hand he had resting on the back of my chair moves to the back of my neck. He brushes the side of my neck with his thumb and keeps a firm hold on me so that I'm forced to look at him. "You don't have to pay me or anyone back Elena. I'm taking care of it all."

"But-" He shakes his head.

"I'm taking care of it. I will handle everything."

"Why?" I ask without thinking.

He smiles but there is an edge to it. "Because I want to take care of you. And Eli. You and Eli are for me to take care of now. I won't let you end up where you were when I found you."

"It's an Alpha thing. Just go with it Elena or you'll hurt his feelings." Aria says with a chuckle when Sebastian narrows his eyes on her.

I don't understand why Sebastian wants to pay for everything when he told me that he wasn't going to be MY Alpha. So why?

"Stop thinking so much. You and Ali need help and I want to give it, but I don't want to be paid back, or like Aria said it will hurt my feelings. You don't want to hurt my feelings do you?" He has a weird smile on his face that I can't really understand but his voice is playful.

It's the fact that he lowered his voice slightly and his words became softer like he only wants me to hear him. It's confusing. Aria makes a snorting sound and I feel a wave of discomfort at how she seems to know what he's trying to say with that look and I'm naive. I hate not understanding things. It's why I was always first in my classes, well except for the none book related stuff. If I could read it then I could learn it and remember it. It was as if the pages and words were permanently stuck in my head.

The skill didn't help much with my hand-eye coordination, so things like sewing weren't easy for me. My brain was always moving too fast like I was turning pages of a book trying to find something. It's weird I know but that's the only way I can describe it.

"Okay."

"Please don't feel guilty sweetheart. Let me do this and enjoy it. Aren't women supposed to enjoy shopping?" He glances at Aria who nods.

"Yep! I don't get to shop much thanks to how busy the pack makes me, but since I've been kidnapped for the last week I'm taking advantage of this time." She sits back and blows out a breath. "I'm so full."

I am too. I'm not used to eating such rich food, so I'm not sure if my stomach agrees with it. I don't want to push it until I know for sure I won't throw up at any second. The rest of the meat in my bowl goes to Eli who is happy to finish it for

me.

"Let me go pay for everything then we can figure out little Eli's situation." Sebastian stands and heads over to the counter where a woman is waiting behind a tablet screen.

They talk to each other and she smiles up at him. The corner of his lip quirks up and a rage of hate for the woman hits me like a brick. I want to storm over there and tell her to keep her eyes to herself and when she lingers on his hand when she takes the card he offers her I almost do it.

"Easy little wolf. He doesn't care anything for her." Aria whispers.

She has her hand covering mine and I realize that mine had curled into a fist.

"I-I didn't think-"

She chuckles and releases my hand. "You were jealous, and rightfully so. Some girls don't take a hint." Her eyes narrow on the woman too and I like her just a little bit more.

"Do women often do things like that?" I ask.

"Flirt?" I nod. "Oh yeah. Human women are a lot more bold though. They don't notice scents and shit like that. Don't get me wrong, wolf babes also flirt with people they shouldn't but they're just idiots. Don't worry he only has eyes for you." She winks at me and stands grabbing her bag and pushing her chair in.

I follow by standing and holding Eli close to my chest. He's dozed off again and his tummy is rounded adorably. There is a well of pride inside me that he has been fed well, even if I'm not the one who paid for the food. A wave of guilt comes from that thought and once again I wonder how I'm going to pay Sebastian back.

"Come on let's show that girl who he belongs to." She walks around the table and throws an arm over my shoulder and leads me over to the counter.

I'm not sure why she thinks we can stop the woman, but she's stronger than me so I have no choice but to follow her.

"Hey! What's taking so long? Elena wants to check out the shop a few spots over. Are you going to leave your girl waiting? Oh! Who is this?" Aria acts so calmly as she says all this and then focuses her attention on the woman with a smile that seems cold and unfriendly.

"Sorry to keep you waiting sweetheart," Sebastian says to me with that odd look in his eyes that seems to mean something I'm not picking up on.

"I-It's okay." I stutter out.

He smirks like he knows something that I don't but his eyes move back to the woman who's holding the card out to him.

"Thanks. Let's go." I swallow hard when his arm wraps around my waist and we walk out.
