Nurturer of Nightmares

Chapter Lazarus

Lazarus

Gazing over my brother’s plans to raze Karmona to the ground, I distributed copies to the various rulers of Hell, each one grinning at the promised carnage.

Hela, stepping forward and bowing, purred, “You have my soldiers, my liege.”

“And mine,” Yama swore, kneeling at my feet and pressing his head into the ground, soldiers beginning to appear in the hall, filling it with shouts and calls for violence.

“Mine too,” Erkil gritted out, others following suit, until I had ten armies at my disposal, and I smirked, leaning back in my throne and glancing over to Nazareth, who was lounging comfortably in his own, “Good.”

“Are you sure about this, brother?” Nicnevin questioned slowly, looking Nazareth and I in the eyes while she added, “You will alienate your wife, Lazarus, and risk killing her allies.”

Growling, I snarled, “I don’t care about her alli-”

“She would raze this Dimension, and every other, to the ground if you killed so much as one of her friends. She is a threat, and because of that, I would rethink this plan of yours-”

The World-Killer wasn’t a threat! She could be easily dealt with, especially in her current state! I had already dumped her in the Dark Cells once more for the infection to weaken her.

Dawn would be here within the hour, and after that, Karmona would no longer be a problem in the war.

Standing tall, I looked out over the crowd of soldiers and their leaders, announcing with a shout, “In an hour, we will be attacking Karmona, a city that some of our biggest threats are currently staying in! In those folders, you have been given targets! Kill them, and you will be rewarded greatly! Raze the city to the ground, and you will be honoured for it!”

Nazareth, stepping forward, lifted his fist into the air and shouted, “To the End of Days Legacy!”

Before us, an army of three-and-a-half-million soldiers screamed the promise back, and I opened the first of the portals…
