Chapter 13
RAINE'S POV
Jonathon and I walked through the woods. Well, more like Jonathon led me and I mindlessly followed behind him as I held on to the back of his shirt. We still had no idea who jumped me in the bathroom and, in all honesty, I didn't really care. What's done is done and I'm pretty much completely healed already, so, in my opinion, it doesn't matter. All of a sudden, Jonathon stopped, causing me to run into his back.
"Well, thanks for the warning," I said sarcastically. But my face was still against his back cause he grabbed my arms and wrapped them around himself, so to him it probably sounded like "we face fo dreading."
"I don't know what you're saying, but I could get used to this," he said. I could hear the smirk in his voice.
He chuckled as I grumbled against his back. It was getting kinda hard to breathe so I bit at his back. Unfortunately, it didn't work. He once again chuckled at me before turning around in my arms. "You ready?" he asked.
I just nodded and waited for him to move.
"Close your eyes," he demanded.
"Seriously?"
"Yes! Now do it."
I rolled my eyes before closing them. "Happy?"
"Yes. Now one..."
"You're really gonna count down?"
"Yes, now hush. One...two...three."
I opened my eyes and was met with a gorgeous view of a pond surrounded by snow, and ice had started to form along the edges. I was in awe at what I saw.

"It's beautiful. How did you find this place?"
"I found it one day when I was out for a run. I don't think anyone else knows it's here since I never smell anyone else's scent here," he responded.
All of a sudden, I felt something very wet and very cold hit the back of my head. I swiftly turned around and saw Jonathon standing there with a smirk on his lips holding a snowball in his hands. I let a laugh escape past my lips as I ran and hid behind a tree to make some ammunition. Once I had plenty of snowballs at my disposal, I carefully peered out from behind the tree to locate my target. It wasn't long before I spotted him, but I couldn't get a good shot.
I then had the idea to trick him out of his hiding place. I quickly searched for a rock or a chunk of ice for me to throw. When I did, I looked out again to see if he had moved. After I saw that he was still in the same place I aimed my ice chunk and threw it off to my right. I saw him lean over to see what the sound was and slowly started making his way towards the source of the sudden noise. I once again aimed my snowball at him and threw it.
The look on his face as the cold snow hit the side of his face was priceless. He slowly turned, looked at me, and started chasing me around the small clearing. We were both laughing by the time he caught me. I let out a little squeal when I felt his arms wrap around me from behind.
Jonathon leaned close to my ear chuckling "Got you." he said tightening his grip. "As much fun as this is, I am getting kinda hungry. How about you?" he asked.
I nodded my head and let him guide me back to the packhouse. By the time we got back inside, our noses were pink from the cold and our shoes were soaked. "Want some hot chocolate?" I asked him.
"Sure, I'm gonna go change into some dry clothes. You should do the same."
I nodded and followed him up to his room and thankfully, they had fixed his door. Unfortunately, however, Elijah was waiting in front of the door. My smile immediately dropped from my face as Elijah turned to face us. "Where have you guys been?" he asked.
"Walking," I said with no emotion.
"Do you need something, Elijah?" Jonathon asked, knowing from the look on Elijah's face that something was wrong.
"Rose found her mate," he said.
