Norsemen!

Chapter PROLOGUE

PROLOGUE

For the last ten years, a company of U.S. Marines and the Gunny have been stranded in another dimension, so to speak. He can't explain exactly where we are but comparing it to my time line it should be around the seventh or eight century Norway. Vikings! We brought our technology into this world, mainly to fight an over powering enemy that were walking across Europe, conquering anything and anyone that stood in their way. He was the Company Gunnery Sergeant along with our Company Commander we call 'Skipper'...(Naval terminology we use of a Captain in charge of a Marine Rifle Company). We brought modern weapons, telegraph, radio, the internal combustion engine, modern medicine and even aircraft to this era. Some of the Marines are presently finishing a telephone system to spread across the country as well.

During the last ten years we have run into several, what we call, Aliens that have embarked on a planet wide construction system and refuse to leave. The locals call them Gods.....Odin's Gods! I personally have met him and Frigg on several occasions when we were doing well; we have NOT met them when we were not doing so well. This has me concerned on the real reason why they are here and what, exactly, are they up to.They told him the Greek Gods are helping the Greeks conquer Europe but we stopped them, then started pushing them back across Europe towards their homeland. The Gunny was also told they are NOT part of their security force and are from a different world or planet and Loki, from Norse lore, was their leader. But the Gunny had questions: WHO are they rally?...WHAT do they want?....To what end will they stay?

Once the Norse pushed them across Europe, then towards their own country, the Gunny had the opportunity to cross the Atlantic in one of their new diesel powered steel ships, mainly to see our homeland, America. It should have been inhabited by Native Americans living in the stone age but on arriving they found thriving, lighted cities in an alien form and a culture much more advanced than ours. They were met as they entered their port on the east coast of America just as the sun began to rise. There were several other lighted ships either leaving or entering the port, all heading north or south, not a single one headed to open seas. As far as they could tell, theirs was the only war ship around as well.

Needless to say they were all taken aback but proceeded to enter their port of call, after we received their message that said...

"Welcome home, gentlemen!"
