No Escape From My Ruthless Alpha

Chapter 109

Chapter 109: Rescue (1)

Drexel POV

I stared at the camera, willing it to talk to me

Willing Penelope to send her thoughts to me

Now I was sure that it was her who was trying to communicate to me. But there was nothing. I waited and waited, standing there for an hour in my place, but there was nothing

"Drexel," Steven called me, his voice full of concern. "Let's go..."

I snapped my head at him, a growl coming from my chest, warning him not to disturb me. I needed to connect with my mate. This time

when she would connect, I would talk to her

However, I stood there for another hour and then another, yet she didn't connect with me. At the end of it, I sat down on the sofa with my head in my hands, feeling utterly helpless, berating myself as to why I didn't communicate with her earlier

Steven was sitting there while Kimberley and Leo had gone out. When I sat down, Steven asked, "Should we remove our warriors from the woods? In my opinion we should. I have already contacted my lawyer to write the documents for the diamond mine..." his voice trailed off and I could sense his helplessness. It was just like mine. Both of us were in the same state. His mate was with him but he had to think of his people as well. My mate wasn't with me, but my

people were secure

"Yes, do that," I said. Then I got up and walked outside the main hall. Steven followed me. I stopped after reaching the middle of the garden that was in front of the portico. I knew that Grigor was watching us through that camera Let him. My people were still working on the location of his setup. We needed only one damn message or email and we would scoop him like eagles from his hell-hole. But I didn't want him to hear my plans

I said in a low voice, "Remove the warriors but I need the top three warriors from your pack. I will take my top three and we are going to go for a joint operation to find the cave!"

Steven was still not convinced. "What if it is all a futile exercise?"

"Steven, it is worth it. We have about "I looked at my wrist watch. "-eighteen hours for conducting our search. We must make the best out of it!"

Steven pursed his lips. He placed one hand on his waist and the other in his hair. "I would rather get that deed made and transfer the mine to Grigor instead of wasting time."

I grabbed his upper arm. "Please Steven," I begged. I never begged people but this was so important that I had to. "This is your area and she is my mate. I am sure that there's a cave somewhere around it."

Steven let out a rough exhale. He closed his eyes and tipped his head up as if asking God to give him energy or guidance or whatever. After a few moments, he said, "Okay... But we will stop as soon as the sun rises."

I nodded vehemently. "We will!" It was impossible for me to wait for even an hour without my mate now

Steven rounded up three of his best warriors- Mateo, Lenny and Victor. While Mateo was his beta, Lenny and Victor were his gamma Walriors

I got Eric, Leo and Liam. In the meantime I asked all my warriors to vacate the forest and wait for me to signal them when needed

Although it was afternoon, eight of us started to scour through the woods near the cliff. We must have combed for four hours, but there wasn't a single cave. I was extremely frustrated. I must have checked every damn crevice that was present in the mounds and circled the woods twice, but nothing was found

"We must go back for dinner!" Steven hissed, hating the failure of finding her

I snapped at him. "You go. I don't have time!"

"Drexel!" he barked at me. "You are getting insane by the minute. There 1s no fucking cave here."

I stood in front of him, our chests touching each other. We were almost snarling at each other and I swear if he protested one more time, I was going to rip him off

"You. Go. Back." I snarled. "I will look around."

While the two of us were giving daggers to each other through our eyes, it was Leo and Mateo who intervened. Leo said, "We need to take an hour's break, Alpha. There is something missing, and I can't point out what. The map of the Gold Crest pack shows the cliff but why not beyond it?"

Both Steven and I slowly turned our heads towards him. Leo winced a little but he repeated his doubt. "T do feel that there is a map of

topography beyond the cliff."

"And it is all there in my library!" Steven rasped

We reached the man as soon as possible and Steven headed straight to the library. I just sat in the main hall staring at the camera. I was about to give up and go to join Steven when another tendril of thought came to me. "Cave... in the cliff..."

"Fuck!" I jumped up. "Penelope!" Oh God. That was Penelope. I stared at the camera but the tendril dissipated as soon as it came

"What's wrong?" Kimberley said. She was bringing the food in a tray

I rushed past her and sprinted to Steven. He was standing along with Mateo and Leo at a table over which the entire map of the Gold Crest pack was laid out

"Is there a cave somewhere on the steep side of the cliff?" I asked him urgently

He shook his head. "Not that I know of!"

"I think Penelope communicated again. She said there's a cave in the cliff!"

Everyone was taken aback. They stared at me as if [had grown two horns. My heart was pounding so fast that I could feel it against my ribcage

Steven ordered Mateo, "Get the ropes and hooks. Leo, Liam, Eric and Drexel will be going down the cliff on the ropes, while you, Lenny, Victor and I are going to shift and go to the bottom of the cliff and climb our way up!" He looked at me. "You are going to carry all the ammunition. Bombs, silver bullet guns. I also have rocket launchers!" He gritted his teeth. "If you see Grigor, shoot first!"
