Chapter New 3

Chapter 3

Seeing that Aubrey didn’t reply to him, Randell thought that she didn’t agree with what he’d just said. So, he continued, “Aubrey, we’ve been married for three years, but only on paper. We’ve never truly gotten along. We’ve each been living like the other doesn’t exist.

“We’re both still young, so there’s no point continuing to drag each other down like this. What will it take for you to agree to this divorce?”

Aubrey looked at Randell first then at the rest of his family members. Finally, her gaze landed on Juniper.

This was the first time Aubrey had met Juniper in person. However, she’d seen her photos many times in the past. Randell had never hidden his feelings for Juniper from Aubrey, after all.

Randell had set his phone background to a photo of Juniper. He’d also kept a photo of her in his wallet. Most importantly, his bedroom walls were also full of photos of her.

After marrying Randell, Aubrey had thought that she would be with Randell forever. For the past three years, she had dutifully fulfilled all of her duties as his wife, whether to him or even to his family members. She did this because she wanted to have a place in Randell’s heart and someday replace Juniper.

However, today proved to her that everything she did had been in vain. Everything she’d done in the past three years had been for naught.

“Which stage have you gotten to with Ms. Stowe?” Aubrey asked softly.

Juniper immediately straightened up and said proudly, “We’re at the stage of discussing marriage now.

“Ms. Jacomb, Randell does not love you. The person he loves is me, and it has always been me. You’ve stolen everything that should have rightfully been mine for three whole years. It’s high time you returned it to me.”

Aubrey stole what had been rightfully Juniper’s?

Aubrey laughed and scoffed. She retaliated, “You must have forgotten, Ms. Stowe, that you were the one who abandoned Randell when you went abroad last time. You were broken up three years ago. How could you accuse me of stealing your place?”

She suddenly interrupted herself with a pause before mocking herself. “All I did was pick Randell up after you.”

Juniper’s attitude was still the same. She spoke in the same haughty manner. “I was throwing a tantrum at Randell back then because of a misunderstanding. We didn’t break up for real. But you were the one who guilt-tripped him and forced him into marrying you when I was away!

“Aubrey, you shameless bitch, why can’t you take a good look at yourself in the mirror and see that you’re not good enough for Randell? You’re not even worthy to clean off the dust on his shoes!”

Anyone who was forced into a divorce while being humiliated like this would feel aggrieved and lose their temper, even if they usually were meek and mild-mannered.

Aubrey’s face darkened. She said coldly, “Whether or not I’m worthy of him, I am still his legally wedded wife. You say that you’re worthy of cleaning the dust off his shoes, but you’re nothing but a mistress. Tell me, who’s the shameless bitch here?”

“Who the fuck are you calling a mistress? You’re the fucking mistress! You stuck your nose into my and Randell’s relationship, so you’re the one who’s the mistress! How long have you not looked into the mirror lately, Aubrey? You look like a fucking pig. How dare you even think you deserve to be with Randell when you look like that?”

“Over my dead body,” Aubrey said coldly. “I refuse to divorce him. You’re all going overboard!”

She was about to leave after that, but Lorelei suddenly screamed her name and stopped her from leaving. “Aubrey Jacomb! Sit down!”

Lorelei Tuscan was feared and well-respected in this household. In the past, although Lorelei hadn’t been extremely good to Aubrey, she still hadn’t been mean to her. After all, she knew that Aubrey was the daughter of her husband’s savior.

But today, it was obvious that Lorelei was done being nice to her.

Aubrey pressed her lips in a thin line and sat back down.

Randell held Juniper’s hands, silently asking her not to continue fighting with Aubrey. After all, if Aubrey stayed mad, the divorce wouldn’t go as smoothly as they hoped.

“Aubrey,” Lorelei said as her tone softened. “We are the ones who were in the wrong. Randy is a scoundrel. He’s been nothing but terrible to you. For the past three years, you’ve fulfilled your duties to him as his wife, and you’ve done it really well. However, he hasn’t acknowledged it.

“Randy only has Juni in his heart. They’ve had feelings for each other for years. They had only broken up in the past because of a slight misunderstanding. Randy has also told us that you have both been living separately all throughout your marriage. Isn’t that right?”

Aubrey didn’t reply. Back when they’d just gotten married, they used to sleep together in the same room, but Randell had refused to touch her.

Aubrey thought she understood. After all, it was normal for him not to want to touch her sexually because they didn’t share the same feelings for each other.

She even thought that it would be better for them to only get intimate after they’d finally developed feelings for each other. Things would happen naturally then.

While living together, Aubrey took great care of Randell and kept the mansion spick and span. Sometimes, it even felt as if Randell started treating her as his own wife, but he still never did anything intimate with her.

In fact, he’d then suggested that they slept in separate rooms after that. He would take the master bedroom while Aubrey slept in the guest room. Their sleeping arrangements were still like this, even until now.

It wasn’t that Randell wasn’t interested in sex or couldn’t get it up. He was simply saving himself for Juniper.
