Never Tired of Mr. Leon's Love

Chapter 616

"Lacee, this is my husband, Matthew," introduced Lucy with a smile.

Feeling deeply humiliated, Lacee gave Lucy a vicious glare. However, she quickly changed her expression to a more cheerful one.

"Lucy, you didn't tell me you had such an amazing husband! Why didn't you introduce him to me earlier?" Lacee tried to suppress her anger, but she was still livid.

"Sorry for not introducing him to you earlier, Lacee. He's busy with work, so we only get to see each other after work. Sorry about that." Lucy sensed that Lacee was upset, so she quickly apologized.

"Why are you apologizing to her? It's not your fault," Matthew voiced his thoughts with visible confusion on his face. He did not understand why Lucy felt the need to apologize.

After Matthew's remark, Lacee felt even more awkward. She said, "With Mr. Leon backing Lucy up, she doesn't even need to participate in the Hype and Elegance Fashion Show because the first place will go to her anyway, along with the lead designer role. In that case, why should anyone else bother participating?"

Everyone present did not look happy after her comment, but they remained silent.

"Lucy, I hope you don't depend on your husband for the fashion show! Otherwise, I'll lose my respect for you!"

After that, Lacee forced a smile and bade them goodbye before leaving.

Lucy was upset by Lacee's words.

Her designs had nothing to do with Matthew, and she had no intention of using him to win the lead designer position. If she did not get first place, it would simply mean she lacked skills and would need to work harder after that. All she wanted to do right now was try her best.

Seeing the look of unhappiness on Lucy's face, Matthew hugged her and whispered, "It's okay, just do you."

In Matthew's arms, Lucy nodded.

Hudson watched Lacee's retreating figure with a hint of annoyance. His uncle was the one who recruited Lacee, she had no right to fire her back then. Later on, he realized that she had a lot of talent in fashion design, which was why he kept her.

Meanwhile, Köven watched Lacee's back in deep contemplation. From her angry expression, he could tell that she was clearly not someone to be trifled with. It seemed like Lucy might face some obstacles in the upcoming fashion show...

"Koven, come and take a look at my design. After you took me to find inspiration, I came back and created a draft based on my ideas." Lucy regained her composure and beckoned Koven over. Smiling, Koven went over to her.

Among the sea of crumpled papers, there was only one intact sheet in the center. Along with the rest of the balled-up and discarded sheets, scraps of fabric were littered around the office. Seeing Lucy in this state reminded him of when he first started. Koven picked up the draft on the table to take a look.
