Chapter 614
"Where should we begin?" Although Koven could not fully understand their plan, he could still grasp some of it.
place."
Charlie pushed up his glasses and said to Matthew and Hudson, "First, withdraw the funds from that investor. Then, inform Sunrise Group that there are issues with the project, so visitors will be temporarily prohibited. Once these two steps are done, the rest will fall into Matthew and Hudson nodded and exchanged glances.
"Let's go back to your company, Hudson. I need to pick Lucy up. Koven, are you coming with us?" Matthew patted Hudson on the back and turned to Koven.
"Of course! Let's go, I'm excited to see how Lucy's designs turned out." Koven stood up excitedly.
Then, Matthew turned to Charlie and asked, "Are you coming with us or will you be staying to finish your meal?"
Charlie smiled and replied, "I have something to attend to, so I'll be leaving now."
"If the four of us need to discuss anything else in the future, let's meet here. Since it's Matthew's restaurant, there shouldn't be any issues," Hudson suggested, and the three nodded in agreement.
...
In the office, Lucy was getting increasingly upset that Matthew was ignoring her messages and calls.
Meanwhile, Koven, Matthew, and Hudson had arrived at the company.
The moment Matthew pushed open the door to Lucy's office, he spotted her vigorously hammering a stuffed panda while muttering under her breath, "Stupid Matthew, you're not even replying to my messages now..." He smirked when he heard that and was about to sneak up on her to surprise her.
However, when Koven saw how upset Lucy was, he quickly bypassed Matthew and rushed over to pat her on the back.
Startled, Lucy let out a scream and turned to look at him.
"What are you doing?" Lucy patted her chest to calm herself down.
Koven could not help but laugh at her reaction.
Once she regained her composure she noticed Matthew standing by the door with Hudson behind him. Most notably, the two of them did not seem to be at odds.
Watching what was going on inside the office, Hudson had a smile plastered across his face.
"Why are all of you together?" When Lucy saw the three of them together, she could tell that they had been hanging out.
Before Koven could speak, Matthew stepped in front of him.
He did not want Lucy to worry, so he decided to hide the truth from her for the time being. He would only tell her once everything was resolved.
"I came here to pick you up, and I happened to run into Koven and Hudson downstairs, so we came up together. It's been a busy day at the company, and I only managed to come after finishing up. I'm sorry for making you wait, Lucy."
Lucy finally let go of her discontent. "It's okay, work comes first! You don't have to pick me up in the
future. I can go back on my own, so you don't have to worry."
"No!" Matthew immediately objected.
Meanwhile, Koven and Hudson watched their interaction with amusement.
Knowing how stubborn he was, Lucy did not argue further and could only look at him helplessly.
"Alright then."
