Chapter 612
"Keep an eye on Linus. If he doesn't approach Lucy again, forcibly bring him back to me. I hope I haven't misjudged him." Daniel's gaze was fierce as he stared outside. It was as if the entire world was in the palm of his hand. "Yes, sir. Alice wants you to expedite the situation with Sunrise Group. He said he can't wait much longer," his right-hand man spoke before retreating.
"Let the show begin," Daniel muttered under his breath.
"Matthew, what do you think is going on?" Hudson looked into Matthew's deep gaze.
Matthew had fallen into deep thought.
"Our collaboration with Sunrise Group is a big project with a 70-30 split, and now, with the anonymous investor involved, I don't even know where to begin. The most important thing is to ensure we don't encounter any issues during this project, or else it would harm the company." Matthew sighed deeply after speaking.
"Can't you just cancel this project with Sunrise Group and work with another company instead?" Koven expressed his confusion, unable to understand why Matthew could not just simply walk away from Sunrise Group.
Matthew shook his head and said, "That's not a safe option because the collaboration with Sunrise Group has already attracted investors. Especially considering the hefty amount from the anonymous investor, we can't just back out of this project."
Then, Charlie glanced at the others and said, "We should first find out whether Spades is targeting this project alone or Matthew's company as a whole, or else we'd be running around like headless chickens. Are we just going to wait for them to make the first move?"
"I don't think that Spades is just after
the project with Sunrise Group. 10 reckon they'd chase Matthew and Lucy to the ends of the earth," Hudson said, looking down at the table.
Koven was immediately shocked. "Good heavens, are they really that ruthless?"
Matthew gave him a side-eye. "Spades is the largest assassination organization in the whole world. Wherever they go, there wouldn't be any survivors. They probably took this route this time around because much
they didn't want to stir up toom trouble, given Lucy's royal background."
"Why don't we take countermeasures?" Charlie pushed his glasses up, looking at the rest intently.
"Countermeasures?" Hudson and Koven asked in unison.
Matthew also looked at him with confusion, unable to grasp what he meant.
Unlike his quiet self when he first arrived, Charlie was speaking in a composed and serious manner now. "Instead of just standing by and doing nothing, why don't we turn the tables on them?"

The other three exchanged puzzled glances. They did not understand what Charlie meant by that. How could they turn the tables on them when things had escalated to this point? Matthew was deeply conflicted at this point, fearing that Lucy might get hurt.
He did not mind them coming after him, but he would not allow a single finger to be laid on Lucy. If they hurt her in any way, he would make them pay.
