Chapter 603
"Make yourself at home. We'll be making a significant contribution to the company together from now on!" Lucy smiled at Lacee.
"Lucy, do you have any inspiration for the fashion show next month?" Lacee smirked.
"I only found out about the fashion show today, so I haven't had time to prepare. How about you?"
Lacee chuckled awkwardly and responded, "Of course not. How could anyone design the perfect outfit so quickly? Don't you think so?"
"Not exactly. We can just design what we think is the most beautiful garment, no?"
Lucy felt a spark of inspiration within.
"Why don't you start with a draft? If there's anything you don't understand, you can bring it to me. My office is the second room across from yours." "Thank you, Lacee." Lucy found her to be quite friendly, which was why she let her guard down around her.
After Lacee left, her expression turned scornful as she looked down on Lucy.
...
Lucy spent the evening preparing the drafts but was not satisfied with any of her designs, so she decided to leave and find some inspiration at home. Just as she was done tidying up, Matthew called her.
"Hey, Matt. What's up?" Lucy was happy to see that he called, especially since it was her first day at work and she was still getting used to it.
In his office, Matthew felt a sense of comfort listening to Lucy's voice. Then, he asked, "Are you done for the day? How was it? Was it okay?"
Lucy's train of thought was interrupted by his questions, and she was unsure which question to answer first.
"Matt, I'm doing fine. It's my first day, so it'll take some getting used to, but it'll get better. I'll be participating in a fashion show next month, but I
haven't found any inspiration yet. I think I'll go home after work to find some."
"It's already eight, but you're still at the office? I thought you were already home." Matthew was not happy to hear that Lucy had not left work yet, thinking that she was overworking herself.
"No, it's just that I'm familiarizing myself with the office and organizing the place. I'll leave on time after this, so don't worry!"
"Wait for me. I'll go pick you up since I'm done with work too!"
"Okay, Matt."
After hanging up, Lucy sat in her office waiting for Matthew to arrive.
Suddenly, Hudson pushed the door open.
"Lucy, why haven't you left yet?" Hudson smiled at her.
Lucy was startled by his sudden question but quickly composed herself.
"I organized everything in my office today and thought about my initial drafts. There's still a lot I'm not satisfied with, so I plan to go home and get some inspiration."
After hearing that, Hudson realized how hardworking Lucy was. She was not just the typical trophy wife that people often called her. His fondness for Lucy grew significantly after that.
He had heard about her talent from
over
Koven before this, but he had never seen her serious side for himself. He was skeptical at first, but it seemed like he had been worried over nothing. Lucy was indeed a promising designer.
