Mystey Chapter 35

Chapter 35

“Uh… can I get an explanation for this? Babe. Trevon tapped on the video sent by Nora on his phone with a furrowed brow. It showed Selina rocking that violin on stage, dazzling the crowd with her skills

“Ljust felt like playing, you know, and maybe schooling someone

your Selina shot back with a casual smirk.

meone while at it. That cool with your“:

Totally cool, just burnmed I missed the live show. Trevon sounded genuinely disappointed, knowing full well that Selina could put on a good performance and drop pws. Nora had been blowing up his phone with texts, totally showing her anger at being left. Trevon didn’t bother checking these texts, instead, he watched the video again and again, glued to the screen. He just couldn’t peel his eyes away from Selina, and when he finally looked up at her in real life, it was with this deep, mushy look. “Babe, you’re amazing with that violin. What other secrets you got hiding?” His voice carried a hint of tease. He couldn’t but praise her inwardly. The top hacker from the Dark Web, a killer guitar player, now a violin virtuoso… The more I learn about her, the deeper I fall. She is just too much–too talented, too gorgeous.

Yep, Trevon was that kind of guy. All those stories about rich, powerful men falling for plain Janes with zero ralent were total fairy tales. To get his attention, one might not need a loaded family name or connections, but talent was absolutely needed. And if one was easy on the eyes, that was a big fat plus. For someone as extraordinary as Selina to fall into his world… Trevon wasn’t about to question his good fortune.

Selina was oblivious to the lovey–dovey look Trevon was giving her Leaning against the car window, she watched the city hustle by, her eyes closing from exhaustion. There are always more surprises where that came from.”

Golden light poured through the car window, making her look all angelic and highlighting her delicate features. Her hair just fell perfectly around her shoulders. At that moment, the vibe in the backseat was all kinds of tense and intimate, Trevon just couldn’t stop staring at her.

The driver in the front pressed a button and the divider rose, giving Trevon and Selina some privacy in the back. After years of driving Trevon around, the driver knew without a word when to give his boss some space. The fancy feature of the car, that divider Trevon never thought he’d use, was now up. Funny how things changed.

When they got to the Brady manor, the driver hopped out, unsure whether to ring the bell or not. He peered at the back seat–no movement. Nervously, he tried to sneak off

But then the door swung open and there was Trevon.

The driver’s mouth opened, but Trevon put a finger to his lips. Selina was our cold,

“Mr. Brady, should 1- he started to say, but Trevon was already lifting Selina a in his arms, princess–style. She fit right into his chest and looped her arms around him, looking small and cozy there. She mumbled something, then snuggled in closer. Trevon was all warmth and comfort, and just like that. Selina’s guard was down.

Trevon carried her through the Brady manor, under the watchful and dreamy eyes of everyone around Jaws dropped, whispers started. Trevon, this big–shot business guy, was usually all about the boardroom, showing this kind of sweet side. Wow. The girls around were glaring green with envy. They couldn’t figure out how Selina could snag such a catch.

In her room, Trevon sei Selina down on the bed. She grabbed his hand then, pulling it under her head like a pillow, and drifted back to sleep. Trevon’s eyes went soft and he couldn’t resist a proud umirk, just leaving his hand right there.

The youngest hotshot to run the Insight Group, the guy who never left his study or strayed from his spreadsheets, was now a human pillow. If anyone else had seen it, it would’ve been the talk of the town. But Trevon was actually liking it—more than he ever thought he would.

Trevon scoped out Selina’s roorn. It had only been a handful of times he’d seen the place since Selina moved into the Brady manor. It pretty much looked the same as his last peck, except for a couple of laptops on the desk and some random stuff that Trevon couldn’t quite identify. ‘Huh, are these the tools of Charm, the ultra–sneaky hacker from the Dark Web! One’d never guess they are anything special. Then he dropped his eyes at Selina again

Time ticked away, and Selina started to stir. She exclaimed in her heart, Man, how’d I end up falling asleep without even noticing” Back in her darker days, snoozing like this was a no–go–way too dangerous. But ever since she bounced back from the Harvey family and got her squad back together, she’d been letting her guard down. As she rubbed her eyes, something felt off about her pillow. Why so stiff? As she wondered. Selina’s blurry eyes met Trevon’s—he was staring right at her.

“Up and at ‘em?” Trevon’s voice was scratchy, like he was beaten, but it just made his voice that much more intense–it was deep and kinda thrilling. She felt a buzz just bearing him talk.

You.. Selina freaked a little, flipping up to sit straight. That was when she got it–she’d been using Trevon’s thigh for a pillow. Yikes! Looking around, yup, this was her room. Her bed. Her brain kicked into overdrive, and she rubbed her forehead. “Wait, I conked out in the car?”

Yup.”

And you’ve been sticking around since? You’re the one who carried me here!”

“What, you think I’d leave? I tried to go, but you–my wife–clamped onto my hand. Made my palm and leg your pillow. So here I am, been camped out with you for over two hours.”
