"I answered that question yesterday, honey. Besides, if you do end up partnering with Angel, we'll have plenty of opportunities to meet them later. There's no rush, Selina said with finality.

Selina gave a satisfied nod as she finished adjusting Trevon's the Facing her flawless reasoning, he had no further comment, merely patting her head gently, then left for his day.

"Hey, treating me like a kid just because you're taller? Selina muttered with a roll of her eyes, before spinning on her heel and heading back to her dressing room. She picked a comfortable outfit and bounded out to her Lamborghini, driving in the direction of Cartier's Sokovis headquarters.

Selina had an appointment with Thevon at three in the afternoon, but she hoped to wrap up the Cartier collaboration in the morning, leaving her with plenty of time.

During the drive. Selina called Derrick, letting him know she was on her way and would bring her latest designs with her.

"You've got them designed already? Well, since Insight Group has cooperation with Cartier, they'll no doubt cut you some slack because of Mr. Brady's connection. Just make sure the designs you're so confident about don't end up embarrassing the Brilliance. You won't have anyone to save you then."

"Don't worry. If anything goes wrong. I'll take responsibility and resign, okay?"

Since Selina was being so forthright, Derrick didn't push any further, but he added, "I'm on my way to Cartier too. Also, after you left the Brilliance yesterday, another team took on the Cartier case. Christina is leading it and you know her, right?"

"Oh! Now that makes things interesting, Selina raised an eyebrow. She wasn't surprised that Christina, after failing to charm her twice, went from stroking her ego to competing with her. But Selina wasn't about to be outdone.

"Christina's designs are pretty good and she must have been working on them for a while and had some help from her team. They're submitting their designs to Cartier today as well. I hope what you've hurriedly put together isn't just a day's work." Selina laughed dismissively. "You'll see what I've got when you get to Cartier. I've got to focus on driving now."

When

Selina arrived at Cartier, she ran into Christina and her team walking in.

Not at all surprised, Christina said, "It's a coincidence at all, Selina Selina replied, "The Cartier project has been on the job board for half a month. And the moment I came to the Brilliance and picked it up, you do too?"

"Well, I've been considering it for a while. With only one other spot open in the design competition aside from Derrick, I wanted to get in too. Getting this SSS-rated case with Cartier could greatly improve my chances. Isn't that a good enough reason?" Christina replied. Christina had no intention of falling out with Selina, even though her actions would inevitably leave a sour taste. She wouldn't have revealed herself so soon if Selina hadn't been so aggressive and dismissive the day before.

Seeing that buttering up to Selina was getting her nowhere, Christina decided she was better off betting on her own future. She wasn't content with just living off the fading glory of the Hudson family, unlike Madelyn. "Fair play," Selina responded.

Then Derrick arrived and, noticing everyone present, suggested, "Let's head up"

They took the elevator to the 25th floor, where Derrick had arranged a meeting with the vibrant and statuesque Madge from Cartier, who eagerly embraced him, "Hello, Derrick, it's been too long."

Not very adept at handling such effusive greetings, Derrick managed a stiff embrace before introducing her, "This is Madge, Cartier's head in Sokovis. We've brought two design teams for your review today. Whichever passes muster with you will be 1/2

submitted to headquarters

Selina glanced at Christina, "Who is the first?"

Christina, lips pursed, stepped forward. "Ms. Lewis, please have look at our group's designs. She pulled out her laptop, set up a presentation in the conference room, and laid out the well-prepared necklace designs and sketches. After completing this, Christina looked around to find that Selina had vanished, leaving her momentarily stunned.

Christina had worried that if her designs didn't make the cut, Selina would copy them. But as she prepared her defense, something surprised her even more-how Selina, not even in sight, seemed to have already made her next strategic move.

Derrick noticed Christina's reaction and took the initiative to explain, "Selina said she would wait for you to present your design ideas to Madge before she would come in. She's gone to grab a coffee."

Christina breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, but immediately her mood soured, and thought, That detestable Selina. To look down upon me like this. Once my design surpasses yours and grabs Madge's attention, passing Cartier's approval and getting me the spot in the design competition, I'll mock you relentlessly right to your face.

After Christina had passionately explained her design concept and philosophy and how she arrived at her design based on the Summer Starlight Limited Edition brief and incorporated suggestions from her team, she took a deep breath and waited in silence for Madge to speak.

Madge sat cross-armed in her chair for a full ten seconds in silence. She then turned to Derrick beside her, "Did you give them any suggestions?"

Derrick shrugged, "They just took on the case yesterday and rolled out the design today, but there was no time for suggestions. But Christina is a brilliant jewelry designer at the Brilliance, and she has described her design concept very clearly and compellingly, so I think it's quite OK."

Hearing Derrick's supportive words, Christina felt a secret thrill of pleasure. If even the chief designer Derrick spoke so highly of her work, didn't she indeed stand a chance?

"Sorry, this design doesn't strike me as fresh or exciting. I'll have to pass," said Madge.
