Chapter 16 Get in!
"It's Dr. Yonng."
The driver (Albert) recognized Pearl. He once met her at the hospital. "Mr. Zellweger, should we give her a ride?"
Sitting on the back seat, Richard didn't say a word. When the light turned green, he moved his vision away from her and said resolutely. "No." Albert shivered. He kept quiet and immediately stepped on the accelerator, driving away.
It was raining cats and dogs. The thunder roared across the city. It seems that the rain was trying to wash away everything in the city.
Richard's brows was drawing together.
Inside the car, it was so quiet that there they could only hear the rain pattering on the window. The car was approaching a turn and the thunder rumbled again. Richard's temple suddenly throbbed and ordered abruptly, "Albert, turn round."
At the bus stop, Pearl was checking at an e-hailing app on phone. She sighed for she saw the long waiting list. She took out some tissue from the bag and wiped away the rainwater on her neck.
Her clothes were drenched so that they all stuck to her body. She was starting to think she would definitely catch a cold.
She was quivering. All of a sudden, a black car stopped in front of her.
Pearl was confused. The window rolled down; it was a very familiar face.
Richard glanced at her coldly, "Get in."
Pearl was surprised. Maybe because Richard's tone was very forceful or she was too cold to resist the temptation of a shelter, so she got into the car absentmindedly.
When she got into the car, Richard asked "Where do you live?"
"Huh?" Pearl suddenly realized there was a problem.
The twins were at home now. And if Richard saw them...
"I live quite far. I think I'll go back on my own." Pearl tried to open the door hurriedly.
However, the door was locked when she got in. It was impossible for her to open manually. "The door..."
Before she finished her words, Richard ordered, "Albert, Zellweger Mansion."
Richard was now staying in Zellweger Mansion.
After saying that, he watched at Pearl from the corner of his eyes and said, "I don't mind bringing you back home." Pearl's shocked. "No, thanks. Please just let me get off. I'll hail a cab."
The car sped off. The driver would only listen to Richard, so he ignored Pearl.

As she found Richard was wearing a cold face, Pearl could only accept her fate.
"Well. I can hail a taxi when I get to the gate of Zellweger Mansion," Pearl thought.
But she was not aware that Albert was studying her quietly from the rear view mirror. Richard had never brought women back to Zellweger Mansion before, not even Miss Wood, whom he was going to marry. After half an hour, the car arrived at Zellweger Mansion.
Contrary to what Pearl had imagined, the car drove directly into Zellweger Mansion. The plane trees stood bravely along the roads in the rain. These gigantic trees led them to a vintage mansion. Getting out of the car, Pearl froze at the entrance.
Richard did not spare her a glance and he entered the mansion alone.
It was raining heavily outside. She could not leave without a car.
"Miss Yonng, please have some tea."
As soon as she entered the house, a maid brought her a cup of hot tea.
"Thanks" Pearl nodded to her.
Richard had gone upstairs for some time. He left Pearl alone in the room and she now became confused.
The maid brought her some clean clothes and said, "Miss Yonng, please use these dry clothes."
"It's all right. I'll leave soon when the rain stops."
"The rain won't stop so soon. But I can dry your clothes when you are waiting. And you'll catch a cold if you don't change."
The rain outside was still heavy. Pearl was a little tempted.
It was truly uncomfortable with wet clothes. In the end, Pearl decided to go upstairs to get changed.
The maid mentioned that Pearl could use the penultimate room on the second floor. But the maid did not tell her if it was on the left or right. Pearl thought that it would be the same. So when she knocked on a door and no one answered, she opened it and walked in with the clothes.
The bedroom was huge but the style was simple. It looked like a showroom in the real estate center. It seemed that no one was living there. The bed sheets were pure white like the ones used in hotels. Pearl lowered her head to unbutton her shirt. She just managed to undo two buttons.
Out of nowhere, there was a bang .The door was opened behind her.
