My Wolf and I

Chapter 29 ✔

JAYVEE

Walking into my mother’s office always felt so weird to me. It always felt like I was being sent to the principal’s office like I was about to get into a lot of trouble.

“You wanted to see me?” I said sitting down in one of the chairs across from her desk.

“Yes, I just got a call from Alpha James. He told me some unsettling news.”

“What is it?” I asked, concerned.

“There has been word spreading about fairies. Apparently, they have been taking males who are mated to males. We don’t know why, but I wanted to tell you so you could keep an eye on Aiden. I will have more border patrols until the problem is gone.” She gave me a confident look. “We are going to do everything we can to protect him.”

“Thanks, mom,” I said getting out of my seat. I needed to find Aiden; I didn’t want him alone especially after learning about the fairies.

“Hey, have you noticed that Aiden doesn’t have any friends?” Ailith said as we were watching Aiden bake with my dad. We were in the living room looking behind the couch into the kitchen, so they couldn’t hear us.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean he is nice and gets along with everyone, but he doesn’t have any friends. There is no one he hangs out with, I never see him around the pack house unless you’re with him. I’m kinda worried about him.”

“I know what you mean. I’ve been training more with my mom, so I didn’t notice him not leaving the apartment. Maybe we can find someone for him?”

Ailith smacked me in the arm and gave me a dumbfounded look. “Are you stupid? You, the next Alpha, can’t talk to someone about being friends with your mate. They’ll think that they have to say yes. Are you trying to just find someone to keep him company or do you want him to have a genuine friend?”

“You’re right, I just don’t know what do to.”

“Maybe he just needs to find someone on his own.” She said before turning back to the book that was in her lap.
