Chapter 11: Werewolf
Werewolf
“Hmmm. I see," said the nurse, looking at me meaningfully.
“Ha-ha-ha! You nurses, especially the Japanese ones, are very observant and attentive with people.”
“I'm glad to hear that!”
Then the nurse approaches me and says, "Are you having trouble with your love life?”
I almost fell out of my chair.
“Bingo,” the nurse says happily. She is really talented.
“You’re very popular, you know. I don't think you need to worry so much. I'm sure the other person is also interested.”
“I guess married couples are different. You can afford not to worry."
“My husband is also a nurse, so he understands me in regards to my work. It's difficult to socialize with the general public when you work in this kind of medical field. There’s a lot of overtime, irregular hours, and night shifts. When it comes to marriage, we have to think about that.”
“I see. We've both got our feet planted in this business. Once you know how rewarding this job is, you can't get out. On the other hand, it's such a tough job that many people get mentally distressed and leave.”
While we were having a casual conversation, a call for help came in.
“I'm off. take care of the rest.”
I am called to the emergency room. The patient is a foreigner who could not speak Japanese.
When I arrive at the emergency room, I find a screaming man who is likely a werewolf. The other staff members seem to be having a hard time dealing with the unruly patient. I go to him and speak in Italian.
“Don't bother the Japanese. This is a hospital. Don't worry, you can trust me.”
The patient, who had been acting up, calmed down. The people around him were relieved.
“You are the founder, aren't you? I didn't know you were hiding in a place like this. Well... It's easy for you to get blood, so it's the perfect job for you.”
“How did you get hurt so badly? You have the ability to recover, don't you? Being rushed to the hospital is a bad idea, your true nature could be revealed.”
“That’s why I keep saying I don't need medical attention. I've been trying to tell them that I don't need treatment, but I'm having trouble communicating.”
“Well… You know… If you're going to come to Japan, at least learn a little Japanese beforehand."
"I'm sorry, but I can't speak back.”
"Well, it’s alright. Act mature and get your treatment quietly. The doctors here are excellent. It won't take long. You can call your friends to pick you up and take you home. I'll tell them what they need to know.”
“Okay.”
The patient is now docile, and he undergoes the procedure. The wound is not too bad even though it was covered in blood and only needed bandaging.
“The wound wasn’t stitched, so there’s no need to remove stitches. This shouldn’t raise any suspicions.”
Finally seeing my name, the man says, “Marcus Wembelin? Indeed... you haven't changed your name. How did you manage to stay invisible for so long?”contemporary romance
“I know some bigwigs in this country who are connected to our people, so it's no big deal. I'd like to ask you a few questions. Can I contact you later?”
"It's about the recent mysterious incidents, isn't it? That's what caused this injury. I'll tell you more about it later. Thanks for your help.”
After the treatment was completed, he was transferred to the observation room. So I asked the doctor in the emergency room.
“It seems he came to meet someone I know. They got into a fight over a minor altercation. I'll call that acquaintance after this, so why don't you let me handle this?"
“You’re related to him, Dr. Marc? That's good to hear. When he went berserk, I thought for a moment about calling the police. If so, please take care of the rest.”
He leaves me in charge. I'll ask him later. I'm glad they didn't call the police.
