Chapter First day
I wake up early excited and anxious. I had nightmares about losing my schedule and not knowing which class I had next. That would really suck if that dream came true! I jumped into the shower and washed my hair. After my shower I got dressed in the outfit my sister and I picked out and blow dried my long blonde hair. I put on a little mascara to make my blonde lashes visible above my blue green eyes and some lip gloss and called it good. I rely on my natural beauty instead of a bunch of makeup. I really hate it when you feel like you are wearing a mask from so much crap filling your pores.
My sister skipped into my room and twirled around showing off her outfit. She looks stunning as usual. She is only a couple years younger than me and a sophomore this year. She already knows she wants to be an architectural engineer someday. She has the brains for it. I wish I had a clue on what my future will be!
We thundered down the steps and grabbed some bagels that had beef and venison stuffed between them for breakfast and walked out to my car chattering a mile a minute. I love my little Chevy Cruise. I worked hard for it this summer helping Mom at the hospital. She made me do office work as well as helping the patients so I would get a sample of everything.
We jumped into my car and drive to the high school. The student parking lot was filling up quickly with other students chatting and catching up from over the summer. Min, my bff, caught sight of me and ran squealing across the lot to give me a hug. I laughed and hugged her back. She started telling me all about her summer that she spent in Texas with her Aunt.
We walk in and as I look around I remember what Mom says about our school. She laughingly calls it the northern melting pot. We live in Pennsylvania's laurel mountains and the school has shifters: bear, wolves, cats and eagles as well as humans of course.
You can tell who some are by looking. The bears are huge! The eagles are small and elegant looking. The cats have a feline grace to them with long flat muscles. The humans we can tell by smell as well as the wolves.
We made our way to our homeroom and I walk past Him! He is taller and more filled out this year, of course I already knew that from seeing the odd glimpses of him this summer. He looked over at me and said "Hi Sara." I fought down a blush as I said hi back. If course Min had to giggle and nudge me. She knows that I've been crushing on him since forever!
Who can blame me? He's gorgeous at 6 ft 3 inches tall and chiseled features, brown wavy hair and grass green eyes. His smile makes my heart melt with those even white teeth. He is perfect, and I'm gushing about him in my head again!
We take our seats in homeroom and listen to the announcements on the loudspeakers. The homeroom teachers pass out the schedules and our new locker numbers and combinations. At the bell we all go out to find our lockers and try to open them.
My locker is by the lunch room and of course jams! I'm standing there glaring at the darned thing when He comes over. He gave it a rap with his large fist and reached over me to open it with a smirk. "Thanks Logan" I said blushing slightly. He laughed "I had that locker as a freshman, it does that occasionally, just let me know when it needs a rap again." I ducked my head a little trying not to turn beet red.
The bell rang and I hurried to my first class. Ugh, who ever thought history was a good first period class?! Boring! The history teacher started droning on and on and I sit obediently taking notes. Who cares about history, it's in the past! The morning drags on through English and Science class after history and it's finally lunch!
