Chapter 47
Chapter 47
When they arrived at the restaurant, it was packed with people and there was no parking space available at the entrance, so
they had to park the car in the underground garage of the shopping mall across the street.
Trisha had recently obtained her driver’s license and was eager to show off her excellent parking skills. Celeste got out of the car
to help her keep an eye out.
At that moment, Celeste saw Shawn getting out of a white Audi with a young woman across the street.
The woman with medium-length hair was dressed in fashionable designer clothes. As soon as she got out of the car, she walked
up to Shawn and wrapped her arm around his, looking intimately close.
Shawn smiled, rarely seen by Celeste.
Perhaps her gaze was too direct, Shawn suddenly looked over, noticed Celeste, frowned, and quickly shook off the woman’s
arm, gesturing for her to go ahead.
He then walked up to Celeste, “Letti, what are you doing here?”
He spoke as an elderly, showing no embarrassment at being caught on a date with another woman by his daughter.
Celeste glanced in the direction where the woman had disappeared and asked, “When did you two start seeing each other?”
“What is with that tone?”
This interrogative tone greatly displeased Shawn; it reminded him of Caitlyn’s haughty attitude, which was suffocating and
imitating. “So tell me, how should I speak when I see my father being intimate with another woman? While my mother was
critically ill, you didn’t have time to visit her, but you have time to date other women?”
Shawn was furious, “Watch your mouth! Without me and the money I spent, she would have been dead long ago! She’s been in
a vegetative state for six years after her accident. Am I expected to spend my entire life with someone like that?”
Celeste’s fingers tightened, disappointed.
Perhaps realizing he had gone too far, Shawn became kind, “Letti, your mother had her accident when I was in my forties. No
man wants to spend his life looking after a wife in a vegetative state. I promised you I wouldn’t divorce her, but I am a healthy
man, I have physical needs. Those men out there all have several women around them. I only started seeing other women after
your mother’s accident, solely to meet my physical needs.”
This comment is so shallow.
People look for women because of money, but he’s looking because his wife has become a vegetable and can’t satisfy his
sexual desires
It seems that changing the reason makes this behavior reasonable.
People are not animals, why should they be driven by their physiological needs over humanity?
Do men have no shame in the face of cheating? How do they always blame it all on women?
“If your mom was still alive, I would never go find another woman. We built the company together, and that relationship can’t be
replaced”
If it hadn’t been for Caitlyn’s accident and his rush to divorce, Celeste might have believed his lies! If it weren’t for her marriage
to Liam, and she may be conducive to to the Campbell family, would he care about Caitlyn’s life and death? The reason for not
divorcing her. mom was just to control her
